The story about Alex Haley and his family has always fascinated me. I had a chance to visit the Henning home this past summer. When the tour was over, I walked out to the front yard.. I spent a couple of moments grave side. It was truly an experience I will never forget..

Haley's claim that he is a direct ancestor go Kunta Kinte, has been proven to be completely false.

Why should EVERY child watch that false piece of trash?? That is why we are in the condition we are in now because of fake his-story and lies about who we really are. That stupid movies set us back 100 years for those of us who bought into that narrative. 98% of our ancestors DID NOT come off some fictional slave ships....WE WERE ALWAYS HERE!

Haley was exposed by Thomas Sowell and other black commentators for lying about his ancestry to Kunta Kinte, as it had been proven that Kinte was a fictional character made up in Haley's imagination. A lot of important context was left out of the story. For example, by the 1800s there we thousands of free black slaveholders who also enslaved Africans to work on their plantations, and sold them. Also, it was the African tribes that captured and sold to the Europeans most of the 12 million Africans that were shipped to America. During the time Roots was set it, white Europeans were also being enslaved and shipped to the Ottoman empire North Africa and Asia.

It doesn’t really matter if he made the story up or not. Roots was a clear description of what my ancestors went through.

He was a liar and a rip off artist. He stole sections of roots from other authors. Horrid human being. That house should be torn down

Well, the house means something to other members of the family and his grandparents weren't liars. So I wouldn't take out punishment on a house. He also had to probably make up some things as some people do with Bible stories. Filling in plot holes when there isn't a lot of information.

Não confundir com o Museu que fica em Annápolis, Maryland.
