Messmer looks so good and what we know about him so far is making him into a properly challenging bad guy for the dlc. The trailer is truly breathstopping.
I dunno man, I thought it was Marika, then I thought it was Miquella, however the frame of that characters body seems too masculine to be either Marika or Miquella, atleast compared to what we know now. It’s not out of the question that it’s Marika, maybe it’s some weird combination of radagon and Marika, but I really think this is Godwyn trying to reclaim his soul or something like that! Guess we shall find out in 30 more days!
@@Hayden-pg4og If you look at the accessories at her wrist and upper arm it is pretty clear this is marika. And the rune she grabs is probably something connected to the removal of the rune of death since it seems to be connected to the creation of the golden order. If you look at the Elden Ring and see where the rune of death is this rune seems to be the one connected to the top part of it.
The first scene in the trailer is definitely Queen Marika creating the Elden Ring and the Erdtree. Glimpses of Miquella appear in the second half of the trailer.
A surprise to be sure, but welcome one! Funny thing: I just saw the intro to Elden Ring last night and combined with this "story trailer" I still have no idea what the hell is going on in this game.
Woman becomes god queen due to the influence of super god, god queen marries big man, has 3 children with him (2 are cursed), together they kill the giants, they kill the dragons and then make peace with them, try to kill wizards but they can’t, instead god queen turns into a man and seduces the witch queen, marries her, has 3 children with her, then leaves her to give her depression and destroy her kingdom, god queen divorces big man, banishes him and all his warriors, then marries and has 2 cursed children with herself (the man version of herself that seduced witch queen). God queen becomes suspicious of super god, the daughter of god queen and witch queen kills the eldest son of god queen and big man, god queen becomes unhinged, decides to oppose super god and destroys its property “Elden ring”. Super god crucifes god queen as punishment, but she remains a god. Gigantic war erupts between the 8 children of god queen over control of the shards of the Elden ring, no one wins and the world gets destroyed and during the final battle one of the children unleashes super cancer on a whole country and the entire world is beyond fucked. Now you, the tarnished, a warrior who fought in the armies of big man long ago when he killed giants and dragons, will comes to repair the Elden ring and become the ruler of the world on behalf of god queen, but first you must take back the sheds of the Elden ring which were taken by the children of god queen after she broke it
The intro to Elden Ring talks about the events leading up to and following the Shattering of the Elden RIng. This trailer however takes place centuries (if not thousands of years) before the events in Elden Ring, as we see Queen Marika creating the Elden Ring and birthing the Erdtree in the first shots of the trailer.
I’m starting to really appreciate your channel. You might not do all the research but you can definitely hold your own in a conversation with a “lore expert”. Far more competent than most fans I’ve seen, and you’ve only watched that one lore video as far as I know (please upload more, it was a refreshing view). I’m looking forward to your playthrough.
Aaah you both are too kind!! I watched one other lore video so far, but didn't record it because it was over an hour long 😂 I watched about Vaatividya's Blood Curse/Omens lore because I wanted to know more about them and Mogh, it was super interesting! Thank you so much though I really appreciate that!
It is interesting to note that the background surrounding Marika closely resembles the substance of the blasphemous blade. It’s as if a blasphemous ritual had taken place at that moment, or a blasphemous act had been committed. Additionally, there’s the fact that this happens much earlier than everything else, as the trailer mentions: “Miquella speaks of the beginnings.” Possibly, this refers to the creation of all that is golden and the ascension of Marika. Regarding Messmer, he strikes me as a scapegoat or, rather, a military straw man. I mean a person used in war to carry out brutal actions and then eliminated to disassociate from those acts. That’s why it’s an unsung war, an ignored or invisible war. Perhaps this ancient land, before the Erdtree and all that is golden, was used as a sacrifice, as fertilizer, for Marika’s ascension and the golden age. At the same time, that land was hidden in the shadows to disguise the fact that the sacred emerged from the impure, or rather, from the sacrifice of an entire civilization, you know? So that no one would doubt the purity and divinity. This is as far as I can speculate. Another topic would be to discuss the role of Miquella, who, along with Godwyn, seems to me the most interesting character in all of Elden Ring. Well, there’s also Marika. She’s just as interesting. PS: I’m excited about this DLC, not only because it’s a perfect excuse to return to the game for the fourth time, but also because it might offer us more information about Miquella. I’m intrigued to discover if he truly is a benevolent messiah, the “Jesus” of Elden Ring, or if, on the contrary, his character is more akin to a Griffith or a Leto II.
i love, love, love this trailer! messmer seems like such a classic villain, which is pretty intriguing, but fromsoft for sure will have some strange twist to this character, which i cannot wait for.
I have a crackpot theory - what Markia pulls frrom the womb, it really seems like that is appropriate ratings way of showing ripping a baby from the womb. It seems as though maybe Marika in some way stole Miquella? The only thing that throws a wrench into that is that it would have to tie Melinia into it as well since they are said to be twins and she has traits similar to Radagon.
@@m.c.schock2933 She wouldn't have to hide Miquella at all. Miyazaki directly said this is THE place where Marika was granted godhood. Whoever it is that she struck down she took the place of the anointed god. Also Malenia is a twin, it would go hand in hand. Remember the point of this DLC: Mesmerr is one part of it. The main story behind this is Miquella walking in the footsteps of Marika while you walk the footsteps of Miquella. That's directly from Miyazaki himself. The core of all of this is to get the question answered of what Marika did. Miquella is 100% connected to the events shown in this story trailer despite him not even being technically born in parts of it.
Hey 👋 jveux avoir ton avis la dessus je devrais fair le dlc avec ma build que j’ai fini le jeux en mage ? ou se qui me tente aussi de recommencer le jeux et y aller style paladin ?
Is that why Marika shattered the elden ring? if the erdtree like a gateway to other realms one is the land of shadow, and Mesmer was going on a crusade so they were terrified? Because the erdtree was burned before we did it. Freaking love this game man!
