@@billiana.art_youtube well. I'm a notch above the basics but I was looking for a video for a friend who wanted to learn the basics. And I found this gem 😄
I have always been intrigued with what the mind can visualize and what we can create with a pencil to warp reality on blank canvas! The studies never stop, curiosity just keeps the mind wandering !
I'd say the skills learned up to 12:58 are a good place to start, but afterwards, I would say learning to do 2d geometric shapes would be next, followed up with constructing simple 3d forms. Texture and Shading ARE fundamental skills to drawing, but done in this order in the video so soon would only confuse and waste time for the beginner artist, especially since a lot of those two skills ride on already understanding the 3d form first.
So if i get it right, the plan to study would be to understand the big picture, a) learn geometric shapes c) the perspective (for all kind of angles), if possible the math that came along (because math is practical for animation) d)shading and how lightning works e)Platonic shapes . Would Mechanical draw class (for technicians oriented), help us draw more accurate when i comes to details? or give us an boost before gettin into art school.
