My doctor has given them every single thing they've asked for. They keep coming back with saying that the doctor didn't include this or that and its literally on the exam notes. They owe me over 6k behind in back pay and I am so depressed. On top of my medical issues my credit and bills are backsliding horribly. These insurance companies are horrible. They will do and say anything to keep from paying out.
Hi Heather, what you describe is common. We call it the "on more thing" tactic. Sometimes it is legitimate, but often it is just an approach they use so it always looks like you are the one not cooperating if they deny your claim. Because you didn't get them the "one more thing". Please don't hesitate to reach out to us for a free consultation, there may be something we can recommend. Your options will depend a lot on your situation. There is a link for a free consultation in the video description.
@@ResoluteLegalMoncton Wow ! I'd like to further my education in this type of industry to be aware if this happens to anyone. As I'm going through something similar myself, this is atrocious that this is legal and companies intentionally do this on purpose.
So they are legitimately not trying to help you correct ? And if you have all the documentation and records what other tricks do they try to pull ? Your advise is fantastic I appreciate all of your help.
I have the same problem and around 7k in back pay. My problem is the communication with my Doctor's office and covid, seems so many new people are being hired they dont know any procedure of how to handle things. And I cant get ahold of any analyst for my claim, as they are all working remote but unable to answer calls, and voicemails are full. This is insane I'm with you !
Did you manage to get your claim approved ?
But has no issues taking our money every pay period
I’m literally having the exact problem that you have or had. I’ve sent my STD insurance company everything they’ve asked for and then they come up with some other piece of information they claim they need. This has been going on for almost 2 months now. These insurance companies are liars and all they’re interested in is taking my money from my paychecks.
Thank you!
Great info thanks for sharing
Thank you so much, it is such great and important information, now I know why WSIB denied my claim. It was my fault and now I'm paying the price.
Is this about workers comp ? Not state short term disability right ?
What about missed filing deadline
It's hard to do a lot of the things they ask for when you don't have a family Dr. and have to constantly be going to clinics. Those Drs don't know you and don't like to fill out anything and have no reason to believe you.
Our office didn't offer temporary disability
I have to have hip replacement an the insurance lady kept telling me that I need someone to say not to come back to work
What about when they said the company don’t offer short time disability? Ya what you can do about it? Thanks
If your employer doesn't offer short term disability, you can apply for Employment Insurance sickness benefits. Assuming you are in Canada.
If I understand correctly, you cannot apply until you're off work for 8 days and there's a chance the claim will be denied. Is this correct?
How about when the doctor says the patient isn't being compliant with taking meds, missing appointments. That almost guarantees a denial.
Yes! That is a guaranteed denial.
So what do you do when you have gave all the paperwork you can give

Do you need to be at your job for a year in order to qualify for short term disability with a surgery that will take me out of work for up to 6 weeks??
Your HR person should be able to answer that. I am going to see mine tomorrow with some questions.
go to died ,from 70 to died is short or long term?
I also have a letter which was sent by my doctor stating he believes i will not find gainful employment and should be considered permanently totally disabled and the insurance company is still denying my claim for 3 months now
You should have a disability lawyer review your situation to see why they are denying the claim and what can be done to get your claim approved. You can reach out to us using the link in the description area of this video.
Hello i was injured with a permanent injury and my examiner started my short term disability paid me twice a total of 4 weeks back pay then a check for two weeks. I was then told by tne examiner i couldn't go backe to my job and wanted to get me over to LTD. I was cut off with no pay on STD anymore and now they have denied my LTD. No payment for months now. I appealed my STD and they had 45 days to reply and nothing. I have not seen a denial letter for LTD yet either. Terrible company to deal with. I have a attorney and will be going after them. I just don't know why they approved my STD then cut me off and didn't pay anymore. Thank you

Can’t afford “serious treatment” because the other insurance doesn’t pay squat.
