    I put a thin layer of clear acrylic on the underside of the nails to make them stronger. That way, there's no filing or buffing or working around stones.

    Nice. You can use a glue drying spray to dry the glue & powder instantly. I use one called, Hurry up & Dry.

      Thank you!! As long as I've been doing this I've never heard of that spray but I definitely wanna try. And it reminds me of one of my fav movies "Don't be a menace..." lol

    Yes I love this ! I spend way too much money on nails every three weeks plus it’s very time consuming 🥴 over 100$ plus 3 hours in the nail salon just to have my nails somewhat cute . They no longer care if your nails are shaped to you satisfaction or if they’re even the same shape!

    • @TrulyImperfect27
      @TrulyImperfect27  Год назад

      Exactly! Like over $100 for what?? I used to pay between $40 - $60 fresh full set With hand painted designs and rhinestones if I wanted them. $20 - $25 if I kept them more simple. They'd last me a month unless I wanted to change them sooner. Then all of a sudden prices just went thru the roof for all the stuff I been getting done for YRS already. Nope, not for me!

    You can take a buffer block and remove that protective layer on the fake nail too plus it roughs up the nail so the dip powder clings better.

    I purchased "naked" full coverage tips and applied them with the CurvLife glue. Then applied the dip in a color I liked. It's been a week and so far, so good. It was very fast. Now they won't be reusable. The CurvLife glue is amazingly strong. But I didn't have to buy the fancy press-ons for everyday use. I also bought some baby spoons from Dollar Tree to put in my dip jars.

    • @TrulyImperfect27

      I haven't heard of curvlife glue, I made need to give that a try. The baby spoons are a great idea! I use pipettes sometimes but it's a slooooow method lol.

      @TrulyImperfect27  Год назад +2

      Thank you! Unfortunately i don't have a video on the rhinestones. But, what I did was get a fine line nail art brush and I dip that in the liquid and use it to brush around the rhinestones and then pour the dip powder over it. I hope this helps!

    • @TrulyImperfect27
      @TrulyImperfect27  Год назад

      Thank you! And, yes you can BUT use an extra nail from the pack that you don't plan to use on yourself to test first. I've found that diff nails will take less swipes to remove that protective layer. Be Especially gentle if going over any designs.

    Would it be a good idea to use gel over the gem tips? I’d like to see a video hack of applying gel over gems with press on nails!

    • @TrulyImperfect27
      @TrulyImperfect27  Год назад +1

      I've tried applying the no wipe top gel over the gems once but never did it again because it stops them from catching the light and sparkling as much as without gel on top. So it can definitely be done I just prefer the gems to sparkle more.

    This is amazing , love this video cause i was wondering if someone was going to try this method. Cause just wearing the press ons be so flimsy. Do you know how we can do the ones with top coat, what would be a great top coat? Would gel top coat be okay to use?

    • @TrulyImperfect27
      @TrulyImperfect27  Год назад

      You can def use gel top coat it just won't be as strong as the acrylic. Oh, and make sure to still do the same prep method in this vid. If you just go straight in with the gel top coat it ends up peeling right off, I learned that the hard way trying to cut corners lol. If you have both base coat and top coat then most Def use both.

  • @mistywiest7852
    @mistywiest7852 Год назад

    When I do acrylic on the tips to prep them and put them on later, they feel tight and more curved. Did you run into that as well?

    • @TrulyImperfect27
      @TrulyImperfect27  Год назад

      I've never put the acrylic on until after I have the nails on. But, I understand what you're saying. If I'm not mistaken when the acrylic hardens they are no longer flexible enough to expand to the width of your nail bed which is most likely what makes them feel tighter to you.

    Will the acetone take off the designs if there are any?

    • @TrulyImperfect27
      @TrulyImperfect27  Год назад +2

      Yes, if you scrub too hard or too long with it. I always take a nail size that I can't use and test it on there first to see how long I would need to rub the acetone. Do it on at least 2 nails to make sure you have the timing right.

    These are so cute! I will def try! Did you use nail glue to have the fake nail adhere on your natural nail or did you did use the acrylic power?

    • @TrulyImperfect27
      @TrulyImperfect27  2 года назад +1

      I used the KISS glue that comes with these little box sets. It actually works really well. It's a little thicker consistency of a glue than you'd normally get. Not super thick just not runny. I hope that makes sense lol.

    • @TrulyImperfect27
      @TrulyImperfect27  2 года назад +1

      Oh, and I also lightly file my nails to rough the surface a bit and use either alcohol or a dehydrator to prep my nails before application. Hope this helps!
