Thanks Michael! Selfishly would like to see a comparison between the G430 LST and the TSR3. Also, do you measure the swingweights of these clubs before testing? Curious how variations in swingweight might affect your results. Thanks for the video.
I think your test shows the Cobra is more consistent than the Ping and is better also in terms of looks and sound. The average spin rate is far better too. I have the Cobra Forged Tec X irons and they have completely changed my opinion of Cobra. They are an underrated brand and competitively priced.
It’s tough to do these comparisons between any company’s driver versus a Ping where you try to use the exact same shaft. The Ping drivers are designed for a counter balanced shaft so when you don’t use on, it’s going to affect the feel between the clubs and the swing weight. Would be interested to see the Ping results with a counterbalanced shaft.
As you said, the numbers would have been very similar with more consistent ball striking, so, if it comes down to looks and sound, the Cobra would be my pick.
Yesterday I tested the paradym, stealth, st-x, tsr2, g430, and aerojet. The aerojet numbers were better for me across the board and the one I got fitted for. Looks and feels great. Can't wait for it to show up.
I'm in the same boat. Sold off some gear and have about $700 to play around with. So far the Aerojet max has been the winner, but I'd like to try Stealth 2, TSR2 and maybe paradym. I really wanted to like the ping but it just wasn't happening. How have you liked the Aerojet? Its been two months since your post.
@Travis Sexsmith I really like it so far. Mine is the standard aerojet with a +1 draw which helped my slice a lot. My carry is 270-300 which is good for me and was 20-40 yards more than any of the other drivers I tried. Best of luck!
Really not keen on Cobra as a brand. I always think it looks a bit cheap and nasty BUT….. I’ve got a full bag of cobra clubs! Whenever I’ve been for club fits I have a completely open mind and just want what works best for me and the numbers don’t lie and Cobra always wins for me 🤷🏻♂️
You didn't set the world on fire with either one of these drivers, it looks to me. The TSR3 and the Paradym are the best 2 drivers on the market, in my opinion. The TSR3 is the best driver I have ever hit, so I don't see it leaving my bag any time soon.
All of the new drivers are great. It just depends on what a player is looking for and is most important to them. I got the best results with the new clubs with the Ping G430 and second stealth 2. I tried all of them during my fitting.
It you are looking to save money you may want to also consider the new Wilson DynaPower drivers. There are two models, titanium and carbon fiber - reviews have been very favorable. Michael Newton reviewed them two months ago.
@Michael How did the dispersion compare?

You need to show the dispersion.

I'm pretty sure that isn't the case with the 430. One of the changes they announced at launch.
They still use CB shafts with the 430
Win to the guy who can rip a driver 300 yds on a consistent basis. Nice video Michael.
I just bought a new Aerojet for $300. I tried them out a few weeks ago and the consistency of more ball speed and the efficiency were outstanding.

Great review --- I will go for the most forgiving of the two, generally Ping is the most forgiving one

A PING of beauty
Been waiting for this one!!
I myself love the Cobra Woods...Still game the Cobra F 9 and see no need to change for now...Thanks...
Just bought the cobra ls
Is the areojet hard to hit
No as forgiving as the rest to be fair
Very good. Thank you for your reply. Was very interested in tge standard
Cobra is very impressive!
Too bad that every Ping shot was a little in the heel, and therefore, the spin was up and carry down slightly.
nice review👍, aerojet gives more distance 👍
Cobra for the win , better looking and better numbers , would like to see the TSR3 VS Aerojet
Cobra looks way better, and would be my choice if the results were similar

Doing a lot of apologizing for that ping. By the data, the aerojet put the ping back on the shelf.
If Ping would get rid of the turbulators, I would buy one. Just puts me off.
…with Cobra, actually i play the RadSpeed
Win to Aerojet
£40 difference in the uk in favour of the Cobra

The Ping from above is repulsive. I couldn't live with that.
Being that the Cobra is $110. Cheaper here in Canada. I think Cobra is the winner.

@@JDSFLA I did consider Wilson, but they don’t make the carbon in left handed
Yes they do @@rogermickcollison4003
The G430 does not sound good. The G425 was terribly sounding, but the G430 is only slightly less terrible. If you're sound-sensitive, look elsewhere.
