- I've been on a hiatus from this small community I've built on RUclips - and I want to discuss why (despite from being busy). RUclips has been a comfort mechanism for me for a long, long time now.. and in the past 5 years or so especially, the landscape has completely changed. I talk about it in this video.. and I also just talk about myself. Let me know what you guys think in the comments. Thanks for sticking around :)

Hey alex! Long time no see. I was super happy to get this notification, currently studying for my biology exam and this is the perfect chill, laidback RUclips video i enjoy. Thanks for providing this type of genuine content and also thanks for the feature, made me genuinely smile.
A lil tear almost popped out right there reading that :')
Thanks for sticking around! You're actually in the video too!
I love your video content so far. It feels so interesting whilst being so chill . Also, you do such a phenomenal job with your video edits.
Thanks so much :)) they're pretty basic but that's kinda the point here.
I agree with the thing about short form content. I don’t watch it nearly as much as I watch normal videos. If I do, it’s because it’s of warthunder or memes and now bluey clips. These are the only things I watch on shorts and that means I have a very small amount of stuff recommended to me through shorts and why I’m recommended more stuff via normal videos. Shorts feel like the concept of ripoffs: a cheap cash grab and a grab for attention by the common idiot. The people who make them don’t care about the soul of content or the quality of content. They just want to pump out as much clickbait as possible so they can get as much revenue as possible for as little effort. This is why I hardly ever post shorts and I want to make all of the few shorts I make be clips from my longer videos, not me doing some retarded trend. If someone doesn’t like that I hate some trend, I tell them that they can just leave. I’m not holding the gun to their head. They can leave if they don’t want to see it. I want to do what I find fun and redeeming and not make cash and view grabs.
I'm gonna assume bluey clips is what brought you to me, haha. I think there are some good bits of short form content but overall I generally dislike it, which is unfortunate given how popular it is now.
@@itsalexpierce You’re right that bluey is how I found you. However, I primarily watch bluey via long videos and Disney+. (and some other sources)
I only see the Bluey shorts when I swipe through a few warthunder clips, a short review of the A-4c for example, a few meme shorts, and then Bluey pops up. Then after around 10 to 15 shorts, I get bored and listen to a Lazerpig video, (really great guy for history and military development info) watch some warthunder by Phlydaily, or watch some other long video like brewstew, bluey episodes, ect. I’m happy to have found you because you make calm, long analysis videos and I love that.
@@DaYemenball I appreciate it! I'm working on being more consistent so that definitely helps!
