Another thought: As a Beethoven highpriestess Elly Ney probably didn´t developp an individual interpretation but simply tried to continue what she had learned from Leschetizky (disciple of Czerny disciple and friend of Beethoven!) and from her other teacher von Sauer (disciple of Liszt, disciple of Czerny...). In this case this recording would be a important document of genuine Beethoven tradition!
As she passed away the same year, this might well be Ellys "Schwanengesang." Thus it would be pedantic to pick for errors, or "19. cent." Rubati. Remarkably she produces the right atmosphere of grief and melancholy. (Is it regret for her unfavorable connection to the Nazis?).

I think, it was hard for her to play this movement about two weeks before death. She wasn´t able to finish the rest of the sonata any more.
