If the guard ended up dead his death would be completely on the kids. They would be murders especially considering that he told them how dangerous it is. It’s absolutely ridiculous that this story even happened considering how the guard knows how dangerous Tartarus is, why would he not have called the cops and just sat at the entrance before the kids even entered
Staying at the door when they all split and ran off with “his” key instead of chasing them would have been the best idea. And also calling the cops from his spot at that door. They might have gotten away and decided to come back another time but if it’s not his shift, it’s not his problem.
@AlbertoMartinez765 You could easily have a story with minimal changes and keep everyone decently smart. Just skip the part where he thinks he lost his key (why tf wouldn’t he just check) and have two kids show up, loudly talk about how they’ll break into Tartarus and make a mess. Then he’d have to chase and stop them. Meanwhile the other seven kids sneak in from the other side while he chases. Then he catches them and recognizes the girl that’s his daughter’s friend. They tell him they have a key. He has to go in to make sure his daughter isn’t with them. Easy fix.

Love the "names have power" is a factor in this story. A lot of hell based creepypasta forget that little detail. But imagine.......if he left them to their fates. Let them get the stupid prize, for the stupid game they decided to play? Whatever Typhon wants...he could have got it thar day.
That's just typical religious belief. That such a small mistake as wanting to see if an urban legend is true is worthy of getting eaten by monsters and living in hell for eternity makes sense to you
@@tramarthomas6105 - Obviously, it's typical but rarely used in creepypastas. Most pastas follow the same format as any average horror story. Dumb people doing dumb things while ignoring older characters, warning them not to do dumb things. The "names have power" trope us rarely used like I said. Demons without specific rules they have to follow just come off as just basic slashers. It makes the demon more intelligent. Which is 1000× more unnerving when they do...imo. I was surprised at this one. It used Typhon from Greek mythology. Unless you read into Greek mythology (or even played Fenix Rising), he's usually unknown to the general public. Which would make the employers the Greek Pantheon. Considering it was Zeus who imprisoned him in the underworld in Greek mythology (or even the Titans depending on the pasta author) I'd love to see more mythology/folklore pastas dealing with mythology outside of just the usual fae stories.
Im at 35:25 right now. The anxiety of not knowing if Abbey is with the kids is excellent. Its impressive how much worry you can have for a charachter youve never met and barely have a connection to. The narration is killer man!
@ElpSmith it's a spoiler! I haven't heard the story in a year, but if I remember correctly, the letters are used to identify/classify people who are taken
U have been doing an absolutely amazing job with the story selection and the voice acting , timbre and cadence are great. You have become a wonderful story teller.
"No greater love hath then this, that a man would lay down his life for his friend" such a truest phrase that i ALWAYS love to see in stories...be it spoken or performed
I've had a few jobs in creepy isolated conditions where I often wished I had a gun or something more menacing than a mop or a wrench. But I never did carry a weapon. It's unbelievable what kind of stress a person can get used to and act like it's normal. This guy takes the cake.
@@NotLazySelectivelyMotivatedIt takes more than money to do what he does. It’s something inside him, not outside. No amount of money can make a weak person strong.
A fantastic story, I'm hoping a sequel shows up where Bryce becomes the next secutiry guard, and likely encounters the employers, whom I'm going to take a guess and say are either Hades or Persphone
I don't know, the character is pretty unbearable and a story about him wouldn't be... an enjoyable experience. Honestly I was disappointed Bryce didn't get what was coming to him for being such a moron-- instead, two other people paid for his stupid decisions. Would probably fall into the creepypasta tropes of idiot narrator doesn't listen to smart people, meets ugly end, and we all /love/ that.
WOW! What a fantastic and amazing story! You had me at the edge of my seat & holding my breath most of the story and I didn't realize it until things calmed down, lol. WELL DONE! Both the writing and of course the narration.
This was great. I love how familiar places can be turned into something unfamiliar and warped. And your acting is on point as always. Thanks for doing this one.
"Tartarus Mall" - random monster breaks out, Security Guard draws his gun and puts it to his own head then pulls the trigger without a second thought... Security Guard: *"PERSONA!"* "Baby baby baby baby baby baby!" (epic music plays as he engages in turn based combat)
I really like how this story takes the whole 'the chosen one is a teenage boy with two plucky sidekicks' trope and turns it on its head. After awhile it gets really annoying to come across over and over in the world of fantasy/horror (especially when you HAVE teenagers -- the reality of what they're capable of is constantly with you.) I couldn't help but laugh when one of the abominations whispered "kids."
This left me feeling anxious for some reason. Very beautifully written story and the narration brought it to life as usual. Stories like these stir my imagination for weeks after hearing it
Kind of weird that instead of calling his daughter ( which I’m guessing is a teen) he just assumed she was with the kids. He could’ve at-least called and confirmed her location if her cell rang in the mall he would’ve answered his own question.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5 STARS! THANK YOU to both Darkly Gathers and yourself, dear LH! Stellar story and narration. It's almost like DG wrote this just for you to give life to...
Oh yes, oh yes, one of my absolute favorite stories so far!! Thank you for entertaining me as I'm doing home chores.. My hubbie is looking at me like a looney, for snapping at him to not disturb, when I'm so focused! Luckily I've got my earbuds on 😜😂😅
Bryce was uniquely insufferable. Corny young adult novel hero arrogance. How he didn’t catch that guy’s hands and get dragged out by his ear is truly a wonder.
Great show! The long ones are the best! You have turned out to be the best narrator out here. Also, your choice of stories never disappoints. Chicago Fan.
That old man's got patience, like I wasn't asking twice, you don't get out when I say I break your arm. You mouth off to me, I let you go down, but you come up and it's a cap in the head....then again my bf always says I have a problem with ppl who don't follow orders in situations of life and death
Rules stories are always interesting, but this one changes the typical storyline in an amazing way! Really great story, I'd love to learn more about Tartarus and the world below
I am listening to this 2 years later after the narration and I am so sad that there is not more! Who are the employers? What's the deal? Who are the other guards! Will more people be freed!?

I really enjoyed this story especially since it’s a long one as well as being a really different style of scary story. Fabulous everything as always ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love this! I do hope there are many more chapters on happenings on Gaia & Tartarus. I am intrigued by Typhaon, which is in part to the great voice work which gave his persona a depth that might not have otherwise developed were I simply reading this. That’s why great voice actors are so valued in the literary industry, in my opinion. You can make or break an audiobook with the choice of narrator and I think you have a valuable gift with your narrative talent! I found him (Typhaon) to be cunning and complex, which is a formula for a worthy adversary indeed. Great antagonist work, for both the writer and actor! I love stories that give little unexpected gifts of insight into briefly mentioned details that seem trivial when first mentioned- like the lone spray bottle and permanent marker on the counter. This story was an absolute treat for me. Especially bc I listened to it while on the way to take my elderly aunt to her doctor appointment. (My mother passed away very recently and she was living with my aunt and was her sole caregiver, so my sisters and I inherited the care of my aunt. Consequently, the hour drive to her house is quite depressing bc it feels so empty without my mother’s cheerful presence. So I do thank you and the writer for making my commute not only bearable but enjoyable 🖤🤍
Since no one else has, I can’t help but mention the plot hole in the beginning of the story. Don’t get me wrong I loved this story, and kudos to lighthouse on the phenomenal performance! But I feel like if someone shows me something that I know is in my pocket, it’s basic instinct to immediately check that I still have it. Obviously there wouldn’t be a story to tell because he only chased them down believing they had HIS key, but just something I noticed. It really was a phenomenal listening experience though! Thanks Lighthouse!
either way he'd have just realised they had another key anyway. after all you'd have to know the keys appearance to fake that much. it's more likely he'd realise they had someone elses quicker.
I immediately thought that. Also, if his only job is to keep people OUT of keep people IN, how exactly was he supposed to accomplish that with only his bare hands or even a single weapon (like a gun)? No one ever thought that people can come in groups?
The creature said "Bryce can be taken!" like he needed both their name and some kind of permission to take a person, so why was it able to take Jackson and Emma? I don't understand.
Moral of the story: just knock the oblivious reckless teen out before they have a chance to talk back when trying keep them from entering your portal to the underworld.
honestly the smartest move he could have done was call the cops after they all split up an waited but the gate for the shop incase they came back well the caps looked for the kids

These kids are the apetizers for horror movies you throw at monsters and demons as a means to gain more time to live longer. "Don't say anyone's names!" "But I, Becky, along with my friends Judy and Chad, are lost and scared! Right Brice?" "Don't touch that button!" "You mean this button?" (*press*) "we have to shisper here or they'll hear us.... whatever you do, don't make a single sound..." "WHAT?! I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!" (exxagerated I know but pretty much yeah)

I think I get the gist of the story. SPOILER ALERT!! Minas, Rex and 5 other security guards are hired by a mysterious employer to guard Tartarus mall because it seems to be a gateway to Greek hell. But curious humans being curious, there are those that slipped through their watch, met Typhon and was turned into an abomination. The guards mark these lost souls on mannequins... Their first name and the guard on duty's initial so Typhon wouldn't know their true name. Rex, being the good ol' boy, travelled down below often to see if he can bring back these poor fools. But his venture is taking a toll on him as the numbers of lost souls keep piling up. He's losing a war against Typhon. He tries to drown his sorrow in beer. There is every chance for him to just leave the job. But his conscience can't let it go so he stayed. Bryce, his younger brother sees him waste away like that misunderstood the situation and hatched a plan to slay Typhon. And then you know the rest. If you ask me, the employer should add biometrics on the sealed door on top of the key.
i dont understand how so many people are getting lost down there. sure ifi there was some other way he was tricking people down there or like a different entrance but dozens of people know about this place and sneak past the security guard somehow to crawl down a hole?
@@Ryan83728 My speculation is this: 1 or more of the other 5 security guards let people in on purpose. Perhaps there's money involved. Perhaps for the sheer sadistic pleasure of seeing innocent urban explorer got more than they bargained for. Perhaps it's even both.

It’s absolutely ridiculous that this story even happened considering how the guard knows how dangerous Tartarus is, why would he not have called the cops and just sat at the entrance before the kids even entered
if he did that then there would be no story-
Did you even listen to the story?? Police?? Really??
Staying at the door when they all split and ran off with “his” key instead of chasing them would have been the best idea. And also calling the cops from his spot at that door. They might have gotten away and decided to come back another time but if it’s not his shift, it’s not his problem.
Because their wouldn't have been a Story...you need people to be dumb and stupid
Easy fix.
I've listened to your channel for about 2 years. You're one of my favorites. I listen to you whenever I need a brighter voice while still receiving an amazing story. Again, your choices are amazing. I do hope you're taking care of yourself. You deliver a lot. I'm sure I along with others are always grateful.
thank you so much T!
He just keeps getting better, he was my second favor. Right away I caught an immediate love for LH and His stories before Him TDS was my favorite I was listening to him for years along with Clancy creepsmc etc but these days LH is number 1 I have about u narrator's or more I listen to regularly BUT LH is my favorite and I keep re listening.
Considering it was Zeus who imprisoned him in the underworld in Greek mythology (or even the Titans depending on the pasta author)
I'd love to see more mythology/folklore pastas dealing with mythology outside of just the usual fae stories.
@tramar thomas Darwinism- the stupid don't get to breed on
@@tramarthomas6105facts all religions have “those” stories lmao
Please, if given the opportunity, do more of their work. This story is amazing
Im at 35:25 right now. The anxiety of not knowing if Abbey is with the kids is excellent. Its impressive how much worry you can have for a charachter youve never met and barely have a connection to.
The narration is killer man!
Just learned what the letters mean. This story rips
@@prowsy102 Tell us more. What do they mean?
@ElpSmith it's a spoiler! I haven't heard the story in a year, but if I remember correctly, the letters are used to identify/classify people who are taken
@@prowsy102 Yeah. I think they explain that at the end. I wondered if there was a deeper meaning or something like the Greek names in the story
@ElpSmith I couldn't find a deeper meaning, unfortunately😅
He gets paid well.❤
@@NotLazySelectivelyMotivatedIt takes more than money to do what he does. It’s something inside him, not outside. No amount of money can make a weak person strong.
@@yesterdayitrained You’d be surprised.
A fantastic story, I'm hoping a sequel shows up where Bryce becomes the next secutiry guard, and likely encounters the employers, whom I'm going to take a guess and say are either Hades or Persphone
He would die though because his name is known
Unlikely. Bryce's name just like Rex's name has been compromised. Typhon knows his name and he will be in danger the next time he comes down.
@@fba90130 exactly
I don't know, the character is pretty unbearable and a story about him wouldn't be... an enjoyable experience. Honestly I was disappointed Bryce didn't get what was coming to him for being such a moron-- instead, two other people paid for his stupid decisions. Would probably fall into the creepypasta tropes of idiot narrator doesn't listen to smart people, meets ugly end, and we all /love/ that.
“There are 2 rules”
*proceeds to break both multiple times and prove other guards do too*
WOW! What a fantastic and amazing story! You had me at the edge of my seat & holding my breath most of the story and I didn't realize it until things calmed down, lol. WELL DONE! Both the writing and of course the narration.
Man, kudos to Darkly_Gathers. I love this story! I'd love to read more of it. It's great how you've taken your source material to do this.
This was great. I love how familiar places can be turned into something unfamiliar and warped. And your acting is on point as always. Thanks for doing this one.
"Tartarus Mall" - random monster breaks out, Security Guard draws his gun and puts it to his own head then pulls the trigger without a second thought...
Security Guard: *"PERSONA!"*
"Baby baby baby baby baby baby!" (epic music plays as he engages in turn based combat)
I really like your long stories, you have a great cadence.
i appreciate that!
If you pass the shorter ones you'll miss some great ones.... don't be fooled....
My god his voice acting is just so smooth and relaxing given that it’s a creepypasta
Stories like these stir my imagination for weeks after hearing it
In all seriousness though Mr Lighthouse thank you sir . You really have helped get through some rough ass days

just started my graveyard security guard shift. wish me luck.
It's been crazy boring, hasn't it? I almost miss it.
Kind of weird that instead of calling his daughter ( which I’m guessing is a teen) he just assumed she was with the kids. He could’ve at-least called and confirmed her location if her cell rang in the mall he would’ve answered his own question.
Well the genius fell for the key trick twice...
Your character voiceovers are sooo incredible, I feel like watching a great film when I close my eyes
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5 STARS!
THANK YOU to both Darkly Gathers and yourself, dear LH! Stellar story and narration. It's almost like DG wrote this just for you to give life to...

Bryce was uniquely insufferable. Corny young adult novel hero arrogance. How he didn’t catch that guy’s hands and get dragged out by his ear is truly a wonder.
Best narrator / story teller I've found on YT! Always waiting for your next one.
Oh my this was good! Your different voices makes this complex and unique story easier to follow. I loved it.
Great show! The long ones are the best! You have turned out to be the best narrator out here. Also, your choice of stories never disappoints. Chicago Fan.

That old man's got patience, like I wasn't asking twice, you don't get out when I say I break your arm. You mouth off to me, I let you go down, but you come up and it's a cap in the head....then again my bf always says I have a problem with ppl who don't follow orders in situations of life and death
those kids were warned and became targets in a horror movie when they could have made better choices .

This story was jaw dropping id love to hear more storys in this little universe great work narrating as always wish ya well man
Rules stories are always interesting, but this one changes the typical storyline in an amazing way! Really great story, I'd love to learn more about Tartarus and the world below
I loved this, it made me cry. We need a part 2!
I am listening to this 2 years later after the narration and I am so sad that there is not more! Who are the employers? What's the deal? Who are the other guards! Will more people be freed!?
I love your long narrations, they're super fun to listen to!

Keep the good work up bro you're a great storyteller
Because typhon waved at them letting them do so
Moral of the story: just knock the oblivious reckless teen out before they have a chance to talk back when trying keep them from entering your portal to the underworld.
I said the same thing it would have but it in everyone else's mind that sh** he isn't bull 💩😂😂😂
This was excellent! Thank you. You are so easy to listen to and the stories you choose are always entertaining.
honestly the smartest move he could have done was call the cops after they all split up an waited but the gate for the shop incase they came back well the caps looked for the kids

I'm so glad that he didn't jump back down to Tartarus to rescue the other two. I'm pissed off at the teenagers for being so obnoxious.
well your first mistake was working at a place named after greek hell, actually, I'm pretty sure Tartarus is supposed to be worse than hell. it's supposed to be the kind of place that makes satan crap his bed at night.

Wow you’ve really outdone yourself this time! this one was even better than your best videos it’s my new favorite!
I would LOVE to see a sequel to this! We need more Tartarus stories!
Thanks, finally a story where the people talk about the story, not like saying generic things like great narration good story.
