    I love Cornwall. It's the only place in the World where I don't mind the wind and rain because they just add to the dramatic and tempestuous craggy nature of the coastline. Incidentally, my little brother also fell down while trying to climb the cliffs (sic) at Polly Joke beach. He was only about 6 at the time.

It was fun, painful and super foggy over the top of Tennyson Down! We scraped in around the 10hr mark. Thanks for showing us the way via your fantastic videos! PS When did it become socially acceptable to play loud music as you walk along? Came across a few people like that yesterday. I actually fell over a cliff when I was 7/8. It was the Branscombe to Beer cliff path and my family accidentally followed the 'old' path that was super narrow and had a huge vertical drop beside it (the new path was further up the hill it turned out). Trying to keep up with my parents I tripped on a tree root and fell over the edge, fortunately to be caught in a huge bramble bush. My parents were able to pull me up and other than being covered in scratches I was fine. Needless to say we went a different way back.

    The problem with your question is it doesn’t translate here well… in most places in Australasia if you own a small property and/or buy take away coffee more than once a day you are probably already a millionaire if not multiple millionaire. Average house price in NZ is a million for a pretty small house or 1 bedroom flat. The average Kiwi family has a multi million dollar home and probably has a holiday bach or investment property and buys take away coffee several times a day. So it’s unlikely you would swap everything and everyone you know so you could buy another frothy coffee a day… there is a limit to how much caffeine you can drink a day.

    • @cdwc
      @cdwc  Год назад

      I have just googled it, and it's £1 to two New Zealand dollars so you would only need half a million. I drink two cups of coffee every morning, but I would make it at home to save money.

    That question feels very like 'The Scapegoat' by Daphne Du Maurier (apt given her connection to Cornwall). I would like to seem like a nice person but I would definitely consider it, especially as I don't have any dependents and in Du Maurier's imagining the person swapped with was an absolute dick and the usurper was nice and a much better fit for the people in their life. On a totally separate note, for those of us who are data-focused, it would be great to know if the kids were old enough to count properly and what the length of their pause was between numbers (e.g. did they use the elephant system?). Loving the Cornwall vids. If you like the West Country I'd encourage you to one day visit the Bristol area if you haven't already, there are some excellent walks and the city itself has some interesting ghost stories.
