Need more studio footage. Honestly seeing the studio development each day makes my day
now i just need minas tirith to be a set because
OMG DO I WANT A WITCH KING MINIFIG!!!
Please mention to Lego next time, not all lotr fans are loaded with cash, some small sets would be nice 😅
450$ is actually pretty good for THAT tower)
I didn’t open it. I might not. But honestly top 5-10 lego sets of all time and I’m a SW collector
I still have yet to open up a 2024 LEGO set that has paper bags
I finally got one in a clone trooper battle pack
Same even in the may sets I bought none had paper bags
Those paper bags are rubbish!
Amen
h2r has paper
I kinda understand how Gollum felt about that ring now, I need to have this set and that Rivendell set
You review corner in the basement is perfect, your timelapse build was fantastic and greatly appreciated and your review skills are now finely tuned. Overall I would say you are a first class top of the heap reviewer.
You used to avoid in depth reviews but now you own them!
Honestly the killer for me is the lack of new prints for Sam and Frodo, at this point in the story their outfits are very different, alot closer to Sam's original torso from 2012. They didnt even include sting, Frodos sword! Or even some simple blank chest armor peices to complete the disguisesI suppose you COULD get two old Sam torsos and the other stuff on bricklink or something, but its still disappointing considering the size and price of the set.
A huge missed opportunity.
Wow! Interesting looking build. I am not a LOTR fan but, I still enjoy seeing the innovative things they do with these sets. Great review.
Adding lights will make it a lovely set.
Really really enjoyed the time lapse for special builds of this complexity
I would really like to see LEGO minifigures for the Easterlings and Haradrim. Maybe a Mummakil set?
It would look really beautiful if you put Rivendell and Barad-Dur around your medieval area 😃
Those paper bags look like they'd do better to keep the lego safe while travelling.
Also that build is HUGE and I am imagining that surrounded by a huge area of field/terrain with a lot of horses and minifigs engaged in battles. I wonder if there's one of those giant elephant looking creatures in the lego LotR sets? That would be SIC
Yesterday, I made a sarcastic comment on your video about the price of this set and, while I still think that it is very expensive, I must recognize that it is really impressive.
I did not purchase Rivendell. However, I'm planning on, eventually, purchasing Barad-Dur. I don't know when since I'm saving up money for another move, but this is a must buy, imo. I mean, it's the Eye of Sauron, one of the most iconic images in both film and literature-and in fiction as a whole. And this set is a work of art.
Totally agree. I really don't understand all the love for Rivendell. For me is a barbie house for Elves.
Yep. I feel the same way about Rivendell and I didn’t get it. I keep waiting for it at my local BAM
Plastic bags in the US for my set I picked up Saturday - which I do prefer. I'm old school, I like feel and to see the pieces and all. When it changes it changes, but for now I'll enjoy em.
Great addition for the black gate set too
I have a lot of thoughts on these minifigs, but overall I'm excited to finally get them. I didn't expect Gothmog to be included with Barad-Dur, so I actually made my own custom one. I guess he'll be getting put into storage now lol.
A great review and I like the uncluttered white background location to perform reviews in!
They sHould used the "avatar-body" on Sauron. He is supposed to be alot taller than humans, elfs and orcs. But he is still friggin awsome.
Wow looks great detail awesome minifigs and review 👍
that is insanely huge - Looks good and the darker look and feel on a LEGO is a nice change as well - Awesome job on the build and Review
You need to get two and complete the back. That would be AWESOME!!!!!
OMG looks absolutely amazing defo getting that soon and awesome video man
Love this looks amazing
That set looks amazing
Great video Bricksie thanks!
awesome video jordan the set looks amazing great job
Not seen a reveal and review so close together before. Lego really wanted to keep this one quiet for as long as possible, especially as some of you seen it back in September.
Great review! Amazing Build! I would have to see you finish this video with its placement in the new studio.
I love this, it's an amazing set!!
Cant wait to see how it looks lit up with those 3rd party light kits. Really cool set overall.
Awesome video! I cannot wait to get this set. ❤
Love the new review space!
I have a very important question about the size… Billy or Pax? Planning our new display are and I need to know what you think would be better to display it 😊
Sweet Build
You should get a rough estimate how how many pieces your Lego collection is at, and get a digital sign for the studio with how many Lego pieces are there, and then update it as you add sets
can't wait to see this in a large moc
Theory about the next big LOTR set. We had an easter egg in Rivendell last year of The Eye of Sauron/Barad-Dur. So given that the Palantir is showing the shire and or the White Tree of Gondor on fire.... Maybe we will get a more fleshed out Bag-end or Minas Tirith? Leaning more toward the White city, where we can get the Witch King of Angmar
Fantastic set, can't wait to get it.
I'm excited for this one 🎉😊
The first five minutes of this video, building the bottom level, sold me on this set. I'm expecting it will already be backordered by the time I get to the LEGO website... but I'll see what happens.
I really really want this set
Great review! I would like to see a comparison focusing on the older LOTR minifigs with the new ones and compare the older tower of orthanc to this one.
Wow, it looks amazing and it seems like it's fun to build :)
09:37
*given to him by Bilbo, who received it from Thorin
3:50 Its not the light of Elendil, though i appreciate your effort. It's the light of Eärendil.
Great review and the set looks amazing to build and sit pride of place on the Lego shelf! Could we have 4K quality back though? I know not everyone sees/appreciates the difference but it would be nice.
Looking forward to many more videos! Thanks, Bricksie!
Will you be getting a second one to make it even bigger?
3 of the mini fig s in this set are dope as.
Great video, will you include anywhere in the new city?
Great review video! I was waiting for this to come out to get a better look. This set does look stunning and I think I have to get it. One criticism, but it might be a little nit-picking I’m not a huge fan of the orc kitchen or the interior of the first level having so much empty space like you mentioned. Overall a fantastic set and the exterior is perfect but when compared to Rivendell I think I definitely prefer Rivendell just for the details and everything felt perfect… but I know we don’t see the interior of this in the movies so it makes sense it’s a little less detailed
You can take a photo of the two towers, Orthanc and Barad-dur. With one in the front and the second in the distance.
Should I open it? I got it today but I wanna get Rivendell before I build it. Also I want eisengard next year first
Impressive set
Yay! They do have the helmets for Frodo and Sam to sneak around as Orcs
The black gate refers to the gate of mordor, not the gate of Barad-dur
I hope we get at least two more giant sets for LOTR... Minas Tirith (go huge!! Make this the UCS Falcon of LOTR!!) and the Shire (make this one ~$200-250... similar to the Mid-evil Village). And fill in the gaps with affordable sets (treebeard?, Gandalf v balrog, ahhh so many options)
how easy or hard would it be if you have 2 and make it full around?
Hey sorry to bother ya but this is a question i was curious about. At its widest and deepest parts: how many studs wide is the tower and how many studs deep is it from front of the fortress to it's rear? contemplating a lava base design :)
It's not a completely round tower? The last one was split in half and opened out? So if I wanna display, I'd need to either buy 2 and use rebrickable or buy additional parts. Well that kinda sucks.
Day one for me, can't wait 🎉
Did they not include the fellbeast & ringwraith GWP for you with this? That's a main reason I'm getting this too.
You need two more sets and close the back in and increase the size . i think that would complet it. love your videos.
looks great, you could get an extra set to get the GWP and make the tower taller ;)
How long did you have for each of the 3 parts individually?
The mithril tile is frodo's armor, stripped from him by the orcs who found him after Frodo was attacked by Shelob. It was sent to Sauron. When Aragorn's arrived the Mouth of Sauron showed it to Aragorn to make him think Frodo was death. So very clever to include it in this set. It is also in the Rivendell set.
Glad someone else noticed that
My Dol Guldur set based on the Hobbit movies has a similar cage with skeleton. They prolly should’ve included the torture rack where they tortured Gollum.
They must have just made the bag switch when making this. Mine still had the plastic bags. No by paper bags.
I can picture the Dark Lord sitting in his office catching up on paper work. Ruling an evil empire is a lot of work.
I love the evil library. Where late fees and talking loudly are punishable by death.
Fantastic, I just think the sauron should have been an oversized minifig.
I want one
Whoa!
You should integrate this into one of your mountains and complete the spire!
How long did it take for you to build it?
The Middle Earth sets could look great in the medieval area of the city but excited to see how you decide to display regardless!
I did not want this set, until now. That would look sweet next the the Rivendell set.
I’m so crazy about this set .please don’t compare to Rivendell because both are epic and both comes from epic Lord of the Rings .Lord of the Rings is something which we are lucky we are living in time we got epic movies and now this finally .love ittttt and love ittttt
Overall, I really dig this model! I think it contrasts Rivendell and would make an incredible display piece. I think the interior has some…interesting choices. I always imagine orcs eating things raw or over a crudely built fire, so imagining them sitting around the table for dinner is odd to me. I feel like I would have preferred a gothic staircase inside the gates and given that larger space to a proper throne room with guards. Or, a large built spider in the caves underneath.
Such a cool model.
I will say it sounds really weird that you call it a dining room, a feasting hall not so much 😂
Frodo recieved Mithril from Bilbo which recived it from Thorn oaked shield. Mithril is a ore harvest in mines of Moria by dwarves so no elfs, no elfs at all.
Next we need lego helms deep, minas tirith and the dwimmer berg
Will you be doing a comparison side by side with Orthanc? I'm sure a lot of people would love to see that! :)
Is the “wood” on the middle section actually wood? Or is it a glow from the lava?
My only issue (kinda big though) is that Barad-Dûr isn't actually connected to Mount Doom (refering to all the lava and Frodo on the cliff)... But hey, I guess it looks cooler this way!
I see your point, but, c’mon man, it’s an important scene they needed to fit in - otherwise this set would be 250,000 pieces and ten feet in diameter. It’s Lego, you need to lighten up a bit
@@razorsitch9882 Maybe my comment came off a bit snarky, because I totally agree with you; it looks really cool because of that small "liberty" the designer took! Maybe it's just that I'd really love a Mount Doom set as well, with more of that cool rock formation! :P
Great review. Kitchen has got to go. Need to be converted to a war room with a sticker of Middle Earth on a table with Sauron, The Mouth of Sauron and an Orc general or two planning to the take over Minas Tirith.
last and not least I hope they give us a huge, awesome minas tirith someday. like a giant $700 one
🔥🔥🔥
hey mate, can you share the dimensions of the set, how wide, deep and high?
I get a Cinderella castle vibe to its build
They look resealable? That would be cool.
Love this set! Probably looks great alongside Rivendell!
I have yet to see a paper bags. Can you tell us more about those paper bags? Are they all paper or 2 materials, with a plastic lining inside? I hope they are all paper otherwise, they are not recyclabe.
They do look like they might have a resealable top don’t they?
@@razorsitch9882 Why would you need to reseal your bags? I think they are just "tracks" from the sealing pressing mecanism.
@@julienturcot8112 well, some people like to build, display and then disassemble for storage to display other sets, when I do it, I use resealable bags I renumber with a marker. I’m sure you’re right about it just being a heat seal, but that’s why you might want resealable bags
Hi Jordan. Love the review..but the backdrop of your small studio could do with some decoration like your bricksie sign 😊😊
the black bar cutting across the eye probably should've been done in yellow.
Or trans clear.
I don't see anyone talking about that.
Clear would give it a better illusion of it floating.
@@christopherwilliams5808 it’s a huge miss for the focal point of such an expensive set. Baffling.
@toeguides yea. I agree. I dont know why no one is talking about literally the only people I've seen talking about that is me and you. No one else.
I thought for sure they'd have clear pieces holding the eye. Maybe they chose not to do that maybe because of technic pieces with odd colors?
Idk. It is baffling.
I'm going to see if I can mod it, but shouldn't have to.
@@christopherwilliams5808 I’m sure there are several ways to easily mod it, but you shouldn’t have to with a $500 set
Maybe even lake the eye more 3d?

*a palantir (plural ‘palantiri’)
Overall, it seems to be a good set.
It's just missing about a foot of height. It really needs more tower above the Grey rock structure.
They can be stacked but it would make the set more costly for no real benefit. More parts and pieces the more $$ they charge
@@t.o.flame2272
It's already out of reach for most customers.
Making it right isn't going to prevent any sales.
@@user-bq1fu5kd7l not true. I personally wouldn’t have bought it if it was anymore expensive than it already is now. Take in the fact that anyone can buy it and there are definitely more who have the same opinion as I do. They scaled it almost perfectly to go along Rivendell
@t.o.flame2272
You do realize it's supposed to be twice as tall as the tower of Orthanc. The Lego versions are basically the same height.
Rivendell? Only thing they have in common is similar prices.
@@user-bq1fu5kd7l it scales nicely with Rivendell is what I said lol and it does. Both sets side by side I personally think they fit perfectly display wise. I have the two on a long shelf with older lotr sets and it’s perfect, the tower of Orthanc is great in detail same with baradur but they are legos not movie replica statues they are made to be properly displayed with good details. You could then argue the avengers tower isn’t too small cuz of how the hulk scales it.
Are you going to get the gothat skyline set?
He did.
What was the time it took you to build this? I’m sure you’re faster than I would be 🥰😆👍 but I’m curious. 👍
14;45
*Probably not the blueprints, as Sauron didn’t actually make the three Elven rings- Celebrimbor did
Incorporate it into a potential mountain in the city. 😂😂
