Lady Diana Frances spencer was buried at near where she was born at althorp buried by the lake which is great place to buried at her home where she was born is absolutely perfect I would do the same for mine as well been buried at your hometown is great
I always felt a solitary grave on an island in a lake was such a very sad, isolated place to bury a woman who was so spirited and enjoyed the company of loved ones and good friends. She had enough sadness in her life IMO. I am more than willing to hope Princess Diana lies with her ancestors in the chapel.
It is the water table on that little island in the lake that gets me. It would be sopping wet mud and finally a deepening pool of dirty water once you got more than a few feet down, and that doesn't seem like a place anyone would choose to put a coffin of someone they loved.
@@dean9235 you must be an empath, or a medium to sense that Diana wasn’t where we all think she is and I’ve never been to visit her grave, but chances are we’ll never be allowed to know where her actual grave is
Thank you for this video - I too visited this chapel and believe whole heartedly that Diana was buried here too. While we were looking for this chapel the village signposts kept us going around and around until a local police officer stopped our car and asked us if we were lost. When we told him we wanted to visit this chapel he told us the local villagers hated visitors in their village so turned the signposts around to deter anyone from finding their way, in the hope that they would give up and finally go on their way. He told us to follow him where he took us straight to this church. He got out and spent the next half an hour or so with us telling us how he ‘knew’ Diana was buried here with her ancestors. He showed us where the stained glass windows by the Spencer crypt had galvanised fencing on them to deter vandals - we came away completely convinced this is her final resting place. There is no way her extremely heavy lead lined coffin plus the pallbearers that struggled with the weight of it could ever had got across that small makeshift bridge - the weight alone would have made that bridge collapse !!!!! Yes - I truly believe this is where she is resting too. Thank you for your belief in this and showing us what we all thought all along !
I never believed that Princess Diana, was buried on a wet soggy island. Even with lead lining in the coffin it can become damaged. I like to believe she is in the safe confines of her family chapel. Thank you for the video 💖
I've been here & just like you I have been to the church & I strongly believe that Princess Diana is buried inside the church. A walk in the graveyard was very historic. No matter where she is buried, the whole place has an unspoken air of calm, peace & serenity. Sleep in peace dear one the world has not forgotten you.
I am from India.. i am a huge fan of princess diana.. such a kind hearted lady.. a true definition of a princess.. Cute, kind, beautiful ... The way she used to shy was heart stealer... Once on her visit to India.. she met a little Indian girl who was performing a welcome dance for princess... Princess took the girl on her lap and loved like a mother . And she told her .. she don't have a daughter.. so from today the little Indian girl Is her daughter..😊.. They used to communicate by letters . And they wer going to meet again after 5 years in London.. but a day before that she went to heaven 💔
@ Betty Bella, thank u for giving me an exact and correct reason. Maybe I have seen a lot of horror thriller movies but I used to think it was because the spirit would seek revenge so the body's been buried in the middle of an island surrounded by water. That was so foolish of me 😂😂😂😂
No matter where our body will be buried. Our spirit will return to our Creator. Rest in peace with Almighty God our Queen of hearts. Respect and love makes a wonderful mausoleum like Taj Mahal Agra, India .
I agree with you. I think Diana is buried in the chapel and that there is a memorial on the island only. I don't think it's practical to bury anyone on the oval due to the water levels. I think this was done to avoid a stampede of people going to the chapel. RIP Diana, you are missed. 🥰
I think that the Earl said that she is on the island, but she's really in the church. Thus, people would not overload the chapel, plus, he could get money from tours to the park to visit. Any father that would rent out his deceased daughter's bedroom, is a real schnook!
It is hard to keep an estate like Althorp today. Earl Spencer is doing a wonderful thing by allowing people onto his land. He is also a historian in his own right.I will not judge him how he makes money to keep his ancestral home above water.
What did upset me is the fact when princess Diana was getting a divorce she asked her brother if she could build a house on this property and his reply was no. He didn't want the press or people and everything that would then turn public like he's doing now during the worst time of her life when she needed a place to stay and her brother said no. How can he have done that I have no idea let her be buried there but she couldn't live there when she was alive.
@@juliepattison5071he didn't say an outright no, she picked a part if the property that was right on the main road where it would attract site seers & Paparazzi. He offered her an alternative site on the property, that was more private. She wasn't happy with that, so he said no.
I thought this myself, when it was reported that she was buried on the island, that the water table level would be barely two to three feet below the ground level, and definitely not a suitable place to bury someone. This is the first time I’ve heard of her being buried in the chapel, and it makes more sense.
Plus besides protecting the church let's not forget Charles makes twenty five pounds a ticket for tourists to Althorp. I had friends that went and said the lake where she is buried looked very unkempt and that all the trees looked over grown. They said the the surrounding areas looked more like a swamp.
Many churches have crypts and vaults that flood regularly. When visiting relatives at Abergwili in Wales, my cousin told me they often hear the booming sounds of floating coffins (or presumably the remnants of coffins) sailing about underfoot during services when the vaults are flooded, but thats ok because one of our ancestors was at The Battle of the Nile, so "he's just carried on sailing" LOL
Right from the start I have always believed that Diana is buried with her father and the rest of the Spencer family. Lovely lady I respected her so much . Diana will always be remembered throughout history. She made the RF realise that they needed to be more approachable. RIP Diana

Thank you for showing this. I believe Diana is with her ancestors and not alone in the island. Could be a way to keep the peace and tranquility of the chapel from being swarmed by visitors. She will always be remembered as the People's Princess Diana.
I have visited Althorp ,the lake is beautiful ,but I hope she is buried in the Church ,I don,t like the thought of the Princess ,being there all alone .I can understand ,why the family wouldn,t say ,if she is in the church .She was hounded when she was alive ,time now to let her rest .
I agree with you- when she passed away and we sadly watched the funeral ( I don’t think anyone had a dry eye)- my heart broke even more when I heard of her burial on the island! How sad and lonely! She deserved to be with her family!
I’m from the US and I was so heartbroken when she died. Right after she died I told my husband at the time if we ever had a daughter I wanted to name her after princess Diana. My daughter Amber Diana was born in May of 1998. When she was little and even after she got older I made sure she knew where her name came from and she was named after a princess and not just any princess, she was named after Princess Diana and I wanted her to be proud of that

Today is August 31, 2022. I’m happy I found this video because today is the 25th anniversary of Diana’s passing. I too believe she is buried in the church. I think that is a memorial for her on the island so people can pay the respects.
This is the first time I've seen the magnificent Spencer chapel. I know that Diana had in her will that she wanted to be buried there, and I can see why. Centuries of Spencers are buried there and it makes sense she would want to be there, as well. Her brother knew this, and I sincerely believe she IS buried there in her family chapel. The island is a memorial site, but not a burial site. I'm convinced of that now. When I saw that chapel I just said, "Of course she's buried there. Of course she is."

I absolutely believe you're 100% right on the money that the Princess is not buried on that oval island. You make many valid points in this video. Appreciate that
Thank you for pasting this interesting video of Altrop. Never thought Diana would have been buried on that island and that it was a decoy to keep visitors away from the real burial site (wherever that may be). The island looks unkept, too much in the public perspective and the water table is too high for an actual grave.Hopefully, she is somewhere more private and peaceful. She meant so much to so many.❤️🌹
Thank you for putting my to rest as I don't 't think a princess should be on a island. Our queen of hearts because to me that is my vision of her everyone loved her.she didn't deserve to die so young and I don't think it was a accident. Rest in peace Diana our queen of hearts. And I think Diana is buried in chuch away from pu license eyes and brave robbers
I also found it strange that the tomb in the church is not only closed with an iron gate, but alarmed with security cameras and alarms. They didn’t do that for the graveyard. What would be wrong with people walking in the church and looking at the terms of the family members unless of course Diana is there and they don’t want anybody there to see.
Often tombs are cordoned off. It's not unusual. That said the church and the Spencer family don't want the whole place to become an entire circus with constant visitors and tourists. We've seen the damage this can do to a place.
I was always puzzled by the claim that she was buried on the little man made island in the lake. I’m a Soil and Water engineer and I’m certain the water table would correspond closely with the water level in the pond which would cause the coffin to be permanently waterlogged. I believe she’s buried in the church.
There is a pump but I'm not sure if it's for circulation to prevent algae or it's or for an overflow, seen as it was running during a drought I'd say circulation
Not educated as a civil engineer, but after playing in the fields as a child and lakesides and riverbanks; my thoughts were/are that the island would inundate the casket and would be to soggy of mud to dig a decent deep grave, mind you modern graves must comply with laws that require a permit and must pass having a concrete bottom and whatever sides depending on the type of burial. Diana had a very elaborate Royal casket lined with lead. It would have taken heavy equipment to build a proper permitted vault for her. That heavy equipment, a backhoe and cement truck would have squished mud and upset the tiny island if they had actually buried her there.
Me and my wife went to the church to sign the book before funeral and the floor in front of the area you pointed out still had a stain on the concrete from earth being placed on plastic , we said straight away that’s Diana Grave under the window , we know what we witnessed and we won’t ever change our minds
Always thought she would be laid to rest with her family in the family crypt. It makes perfect sense to have the island as a “decoy” especially for those sick “trophy hunters”.
Same here. We visited and there were caretakers in who you could ask questions, we indeed asked the question if the Princess was really buried on the island. Of course, they said yes, but I didn't believe them. Diana loved people she wouldn't have wanted to rest on her own. She loved her Father, I truly believe she is in the Church, and rightly so.
Of course, Diana's brother would never reveal where she is really buried; too many people who have no respect for anybody or anything who will do anything for $$$$. Not to mention the crowds of visitors; it would be a nightmare.
Can you imagine growing up on a beautiful estate as this? I tend to think she was “actually” buried in the church ONLY because the island spot isn’t weekly/monthly maintained to the elegance it should be. It gets overgrown every year or so. At her death DIANA needed peace and quiet which was why TELLING the public she was buried on the island was appropriate. Her death still hurts.
Which to be fair is perfectly understandable and can respect due to the unfortunate life she had. Some privacy for her final resting spot would be nice to know.
You have a favourable view of them. I'm sorry, but they didn't seem that keen to help her when she was going through problems. I too would like a beautiful spot in privacy for her, but not with him, and the sideshow he's made of her.
@@thewheatfields8852 Oh no I completely agree I think both the Windsors and the Spencer’s turned their backs on Diana. A decision which they now regret
Thanks for the Video of Althorp Estate! Always wanted to see where she was buried. It's too bad you couldn't get a closer look at the grave. R.I.P. Diana Spencer 🌹🕯️
I visited the lake the first year the house and gardens opened. Only when you are there you realise Diana isn’t. The plan always that she would be buried with her father in the little church. It was thought that the little village could not cope with the visitors. I believe the oval lake is just a memorial and she rests peacefully with her father as she had requested.
From the beginning I and others believed that the so-called burial on the island was conceived as being an inaccessible location where people could come, without swarming the grave site, disturbing the actual grave or overwhelming the church. A grave dug on that island would have become almost immediately waterlogged so it would have been a total impracticality to do so. There is no logical reason Why Princess Dianna should be buried in lonely isolation anyway . Of course she is in the church with her ancestors. All else is subterfuge.
I agree...I allways thought a grave would become waterlogged very quickly..not a clever thing to do..so I wouldnt be surprised if it was a fake site..I also agree that she wouldnt be buried in lonely isolation.. the island is a rather lonely place
@@FreeRangeChiHuaHuas you are correct about 'linings' but it's still a very bad idea..I genuinely think it's a good case for 'misdirection'..as was said in the video..three attempts to grave rob were thwarted..imagine their surprise to find an empty grave

Thank you for this great video. You are so respectful. Your voice is so decent and humble and it's a joy to listen to you. You don't speculate in a disrespectful manner; you come across normal and really nice. As for Diana's grave, I fully agree that she can't be burried on that island. It's technically almost impossible to bury anyone there. Your thoughts make sense. When you stood in front of the vault, with a straight look to that rectangular headstone, it came to my mind that she could as well be burried left of the effigy to the left. Because when you filmed from the side, with your extendable stick, you could see that there was empty space. The sun shines right in and the place is empty. There could be a hidden grave between the outer wall and that effigy. But whatever the case is, thank you for this lovely video, and sharing your thoughts and comments on all the graves. It's so very much interesting and respectful.
So very respectfully put. I agree 100 %! I have always followed the royal family and Diana, especially. But,living in the U.S.,you gave me the best visit to England and walk through the most beautiful cemetery and utmost beautiful church. Thank you, and God rest all the Spencer's that lie rest there.
Diana's housekeeper Mrs Maudie Pendry ( who Diana loved) was shocked when she learnt she might be buried on The Oval ( The Island) because this is where the family dogs were buried, you can read her story online, she has now also passed away but has some great stories, she was devastated when Diana died. As a Northamptonian i have no doubt her brother loved her dearly and this is why not many of us think she is on the Island. These are my personal feelings obviously. I think there is a memorial on the Island but that is what it is just a memorial again my feelings only. I met her twice and the villagers will say always in a rush but always had time for everyone. There will never be another Diana she was loved by so many, i truly hope she is with her dad in the family vault they adored each other. Wherever she is she is now at peace 🙏🏼

Whether the island or the church, it's a very peaceful area and her spirit can rest in peace where she was clearly loved. Even after all these years it's so tragic. Centuries from now children in history lessons will learn about Diana, the people's princess. I hope so, she should never be forgotten.
I believe the island was selected as a supposed burial location because of the serenity, solitude, and contemplation of her life while gazing at the island… Finally away from any more intrusion in her life. The island is more symbolic as a location than her actual interment. She was an incredible woman who left a lasting love, respect and memories of her life! Thank you for sharing this lovely estate!
@@deadgoodwalks The idea of a serene and secure location does make the island burial applaudable …but not practical. The water table would be too high to allow an in-ground burial. The grave would become waterlogged with every rain storm. I think Earl Spencer quietly - in the dead of night - had Diana's body moved to the family vault in the church. hence the security and cameras placed there. The island grave sight is a nice diversion from the church and a tourist attraction for the estate.
It also adds romance & legend when you think back to King Arthur & the Lady in the Lake. It’s a beautiful spot & a lovely thought that Diana has peace in death that she never had in life. Earl Spencer did nothing more than the others that own massive estates that require huge expenditures on upkeep. The “Downton Abbey” filming is a prime example. That family was able to do extensive work on the property because of the revenue the series produced. Many of these families are hamstrung by trusts & entailments that, for example forbid the sale of art or other parts of the estate. And the death tax is unreal! I think he did the best possible thing to keep all the juggling balls in the air!
I read at one time that the night of Diana's funeral the military took over the little town of Great Brington. A convoy of jeeps and other vehicles closed down the town and the crematory was seen burning into the late night. Villagers said they all thought Diana was cremated and probably interred in St. Mary's chapel next to the ashes of her father. He was cremated because they were running out of room in the family vault, and there was little room for a casket. I never bought that she is buried on that island. Never!
I was travelling from Rugby to Northampton that night. I can confirm the whole area was in lockdown and we were diverted miles away from the estate which was lit up like an airport and visible for miles. Knew an estate worker who told me all employees were given the

@@cornishpapercraft I appreciate that it sounds like gossip, he said that the Bishop of Peterborough consecrating the island was a cover to protect the church as a place of worship, I was sceptical too but the gentleman concerned was born in the village and had no reason to lie.
Charles has to generate money to maintain this property. It is enormous. And because it is very old, it requires a lot of restoration and maintenance. I have been to Althorp. I saw the place where she is reportedly buried. The minute I saw it, I thought to myself "No Way." I agree with you. She is not there. This is a way to deflect people away from where she is buried. I truly think that the family wanted her to be buried privately and rest in peace. She always hated the media attention she had to endure day after day. I recall seeing this church. I strongly think her remains are there, in the family vault, not at Althorp.
I am from the Philippines. I have always been a follower of news and documentaries on the British Royal family. Let us not forget our beloved Princess Diana, the true Queen if her husband did not go astray with the help of his mistress. Please do more documentaries so the future generations will know about these.
I visited Althorp in Y2K and never thought Diana was buried on that island. Beautiful as it was, it just didn't seem logical to put her there, on her own. I believe she is interred in the family crypt.
I agree with you that she is buried in the church. Makes no sense with the water table as her body safer in the church. The beautiful island is a place to remember her by and a great decoy to where she really is. I wonder if we’ll ever know.. Like you I’m appalled by the wooden memorial in the gardens. I really wish he’d change that to stone. That’ll rot away!
Forget Diane. The Chaplain Rabine story is a lot more fascinating. Even the spirits are afraid of him. There is some history lost there that only the people in the afterlife remembers and they remember it to this day even though it was close to 250 years ago.
I am in total agreement with you. The water table would be too high. And I don’t blame the Earl for trying to make money … can you imagine the cost of having such an estate. But I do find it a bit appalling of making money from someone’s death. I never did believe she was buried where they said and I am more inclined to believe she’s burried with her family at the church
I think it makes sense to have a place separately for the public to pay their respects since she was so beloved, while keeping the real place hush hush so she can have the peace she didn't get in life. And also because people can be crazy and despicable. If graverobbers managed to get their hands on her, she wouldn't be the first royal whose body has been desercrated. So considering her high popularity to this day, it's best to keep her real location private.
A friend told us that someone who works for the church had them open the vault to bury Princess Diana in there. The island idea is to stop people going to the church. Good video, very interesting. I live around the corner from Althorp and on the day of the funeral I cut a rose from my garden and threw it on the hearse as it passed by. Very surreal and I will never forget it.
@@torquetorque1777 She was allowed to keep the Princess title, she lost the HRH title, thereby she was simply Princess Diana when the divorce was finalized.

The idea of a popular princess being placed on an isolated, waterlogged island seemed like a strange choice to me back when I first heard the story. I hadn’t thought there was an alternative location until now but this new theory makes sense. Add in the facts of the vault having been open for three days around that same time frame, and everything falls into place.

A few years ago there was a scandal about the condition of the island where she is supposedly buried. It had become overgrown and choked with weeks and had to be fixed up. Another indication that she is not buried on that island.
From the video it still looks like the grass and bushes are overgrown. You can't even see through all of the bushes, grass, and trees. It doesn't even look like anyone, family or friends, could even walk through there.
I’m a funeral director and something never rang true about her being buried on the little island. A lot of people in the funeral industry think the same… the logistics involved to get a coffin over the water would be almost impossible to pull off
@@deadgoodwalks it’s all very cryptic, and to an extent I understand why. I think because of the tsunami of grief the public displayed they knew they would have to keep Diana’s actual whereabouts secret, throwing the ‘lady in the lake’ narrative into the mix to muddy the waters, so to speak. But thinking about how waterlogged the earth would be on the little island I can’t imagine they would be able to dig a hole six feet deep, it would be like digging waterlogged sand so as fast as they take the earth out it would be falling back in. And say they managed to dig six feet down, it would be full of water… so even with a jcb and a pump taking the water out of the grave, who would want to put their sister/mum/ex wife into a waterlogged hole? Ok so Charlie wouldn’t give a monkeys but everyone else would. I think you’ve solved the mystery and I fully agree with your theory that Diana is probably in the crypt in an unmarked grave. It’s something no one will ever know, and similar to the crematorium that handled Myra Hindleys body, if Diana WAS cremated the staff would have been sworn to secrecy

All these years the Royal Family cast aspersions on Dear Dianna, as though she has no proper ancestry. 19 generation and this Lovely Chapel says otherwise. Prince Charles is actually the one that married Royalty
@@angelaturner4376 She would never have become a princess in the first place unless she married into the royal family. Her family was never Royal, they did indeed become courtiers for the royals many years ago. For God's Sake!!! If she never married Charles, no one would have ever heard about her! So much for being a royal!
She may have been a true "blue blood" and definitely more English bloodline. But that doesn't make her more royal! Royalty comes through descendency. I don't think there was ever any doubt or aspersions about her ancestry from the start
The only reason they wanted her to marry Charles is because of her ancestry. She was a member of the aristocracy. It's the people who said she was "common" -- never the RF
I completely agree that she’s buried in the family vault. With such a tradition of burying family there, it doesn’t make any sense to bury her somewhere else. I didn’t realise the family rented out Diana’s old bedroom & honestly, I’m horrified! Talk about cashing in on his sister’s death! To bury Diana on an island in the middle of a lake, is quite simply completely stupid & definitely not lasting. Great video.
Althorp is a tourist attraction. I agree it’s poor taste to rent Diana’s childhood bedroom out. At Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee, tourists r not even allow to see Elvis’ bedroom, let alone rent it out.
The estates is so expensive to run please don’t judge the family so many homes are no longer in family s so much lost because world wars the government
It makes perfect sense to make a public memorial and a private guarded burial location. Especially with that much security around the site at the church. Cameras, alarms, yea. There's something going on there. Interesting to know about Geo Washington's relationship. Thank you for the video.
Every time I hear or see something about Diana, it feels like only yesterday and I still secretly hope for a different outcome of her story, which of course is not ever possible. I also believe that she is buried in the church. The island is just a romantic fairy story to keep grave robbers away as it’s harder to get to than a grave in the church or indeed the churchyard. The fact of the heavy security must be an indication that she might be buried there behind these iron bars. I also think it’s impossible to have such a heavy coffin buried in such an unstable and constantly wet ground as the island would be. RIP. Thank you so much for this video and saying what others have neglected to say. Great video .
I’m almost convinced since this young man pointed out that the building is made completely out of wood to make look like marble. No one would bury a family in a wooden tomb. My family has a mausoleum on our farm for my great grand parents and it’s certainly not WOOD.
There were whispers at the time, just after the funeral, that some building went on in the middle of the night around the crypt. There were strong suspicions that she is not on that island.
This video was my favorite of all. The incredible history and age of those tombs are amazing. I think Diana is buried with her family and the island is a way to draw visitors.
I have often wondered about this. Why would you bury Diana on an island all alone when she could be laid to rest with her father and other family members in the local Chapel. It never felt right somehow not to mention it must have been a horrible thing for William and Harry to come to terms with at such a young age thinking of their mother buried on that island all alone. What a very sad thought.
"Tutta sola" beh che c'è di strano. Saremo tutti soli sotto terra, anche se attorniati dai familiari e non. Sono solo i nostri resti,un guscio vuoto perciò...
I tend to agree with you. An estate of that size must cost a lot to maintain. Her brother appears to be quite a businessman. It is strange that the monument is made of wood. May Diana Rest In Peace.
@@deadgoodwalks the monument on the island is marble. The wooden temple has been there since the 1920's, it came from the Admiralty. It was re-dedicated to Diana in 1997.
I think she's buried in Chapel, not on the island, I believe they told people that just so they wouldn't have the crowds. People are actually showing up at her grave site since she was so immensely popular. It's so tragic how she passed. Which you not have been buried in leadline coffin like so many others of royalty have been buried in
I was told by a local in the pub in Althorp that on the night of the funeral, the church was cordoned off. He said that she was buried in the church next to her father.
I used to live in the nearest town, and many times took guests to the church. A few months after her death the cement around the entrance to the family vault was clearly new.
I was told by a tour guide years ago that Diana was not on the island. It was a ploy to stop thousands of visitors making pilgrimages to her resting place.
Extremely interesting---I have long thought that she was buried in the family vault in the church. I have read several times that the island was where the Spencers had always buried their pets and it was very unlikely they would bury her there! I have also read that she was actually cremated and her remains placed in the church. I don't think we will ever know for sure! Thanks so much for the tour of the church which is absolutely beautiful---the history and interior is incredible, regardless if Diana is there or not.
The vault at the church became overcrowded, in 1950 all the ancient coffins were opened, and all the ancestors cremated, the vault is now full of their ashes. The lead coffins were melted down, and the lead used to repair the church roof.
@@deadgoodwalks I'm in the Agricultural industry, so yes, its possible, machinery is a great invention, but the island with that elevation of almost nothing is mushy, soppy wet and incredibly heavy not exactly a prime piece of real estate for interment of a princess, unless of course shes above ground.
@@SarahlabyrinthLHC you'd be surprised how small and light a mini excavator really is, its only a hole, we get them between close houses, on sandbars, maneuver them over pools, over canals. Just have to know what your doing If they can get a full size crane on a highrise building, we can get a mini scooper on an island.
@@patriciatoomingtheplantpar2558 Oh, well, who would have known? (not me!) Thanks for the info! I do still think she would have been buried in the chapel, though. The island just looks too wet and boggy. I don't think they would have chosen such a wet place to put her.
She was Lady Diana by birth but was never a princess. To be a princess you have to be the daughter or granddaughter of a monarch. She married to a prince and was legally Princess Charles but only had the temporary honorary title while married. After the divorce she was no longer a member of the Royal Family. She was no longer Princess Charles and NEVER WAS Princess Diana!
I lived in Brington at the time of Dianas funeral. 2 nights before the funeral we lost electricity, road blocks in and out of the village by Anglia water supposably a water maim burst. Our cottage was close to the church and we could see lights ( lanterns ??) at the church. Electricity came on a around 3am. Diana is in the church as per her will.
There were also rumours of late night activity at a local crematorium. Seems there wasn't quite enough room in the crypt for a full coffin, but an urn would fit.
Where ever she is buried, just let her rest in peace. Its for the best not to have access to her grave. Could you imagine the amount of tourists, it would be crazy. I for one would not be one.
I'm inclined to believe that she's buried in the church. As you stated, soil on the island would have a water table level with the lake. That makes no since. Great video. I love your ancient cemeteries there. I appreciate you posting as I will probably never get to visit England.
👩🏻💻After actually seeing it up close through you lense Diana, Princess of Wales is not buried on the lake island. So many trees and underbrush to put a tomb there, the water table is a problem for me. Was there even enough time to build a tomb in such a small space, 7 days? Very interesting. Thanks for sharing, now I feel I know Diana a bit better seeing where she lived and grew up, simple and down to earth. Much love and peace. 🙋♀️🪔🌠🐞🥰&♎🇬🇧🇺🇲
IMO Dianna is in the church. Not long after she died my son and I did a cycling tour of the area and we stayed at Brandon Youth Hostel, We visited that church and I remember a guide pointing out the Spencer family burial area. The Hostel warden at the time told us that she was in the church according to what the locals were saying. It was being said that in the late evening of the funeral day a hearse was seen by locals leaving Althorpe and also the same going to the church. Although all the roads had been closed they could not stop people that lived in the area curtain peeping etc. It was strongly romoured that she was not on that Island but in the church where she always wished to be. The reasoning for the secrecy was said to be that the little church and the village could not cope with the vast amount of visitors that would throng there especially at that time. This could be wrong but it is what we were told all those years ago.🤫
My understanding was at the time the fabric of that beautiful old church could not stand the onslaught of all the visitors expected at the time. When I was taken there I could understand that concern because it is small, exquisitely preserved and probably fragile. I just wish she could be allowed to rest in peace wherever she is, the graveyard, the family vault or the island. There is a lovely plaque inside the church commemorating a bell peal in her honor shortly after she died.
Knowing all we know now of the issues surrounding lack of privacy the Spencer family has had to endure after the death of Diana Spencer, it makes perfect sense to select the island as the publicized memorial and burial sight. While internment on sacred ground in a family crypt may seem antiquated to some, it is most probably the best place, by FAR, where the future King of England and his family and the family of our beloved Princess Diana can come to pray for her soul, and pray for the country. Thank you ever so much for making such a beautiful video, and taping the interior of such a lovely chapel dedicated to God. It is precisely where a mother of a future King should be buried.
Thank you for sharing this.. Princess Diana was one special Lady in her Day. She still is in my book. God Bless her memory.. May she Rest in Peace. ❤❤❤
I totally agree with you, there is no way they would not lay her near her father ( which was his and her wish ). I cannot imagine Princess Diana being buried on an island ALONE. I believe she is in the church. 🇨🇦
Amazing walk about. There is something about our mortality that we don’t easily come to terms with. I am from South Africa and was involved with environmental planning for cemetery sites … some of my time involved assessing existing cemetery sites which included some old Boer, English, Irish, welsh and African graves all over natal. Thanks for the walk about …glad I am not the only one who is fascinated by old burial practices Keep safe and remember to do good - our time on this earth is limited, make it count for something.

For 25 years now, I believe in my heart that the most loved Princess is not buried at the center of the lake. Princess Diana loved people, hence, she was know as the "People's Princess" and loved her family. She must be buried somewhere inside the church.
I tend to agree. Unless an island is a considerable size, you can't really bury something as big and heavy as a casket as it would eventually get water logged and probably sink more. The island is a great idea altho not practical. I'm sure she's in the church with her parents/family.
Right, the brother is all about money I read an article that before Diana’s accident she was begging her brother to let her live in that ancestral house but he declined. She probably just wanted to go home and live in peace away from Charles and family. So I think the brother is selfish,
He & his family lived there. As I mentioned it takes a fortune to maintain these old mansions. Think of how the place would be overrun if she lived there. The security would've cost an arm & a leg. He also lived in South Africa for a few years. I think he would have worried about her alone on the estate. She did stay with him for a while in South Africa. She's definately not on the island.
I spent a little time with her brother and I think it's a vile and horrendous exercise to try and skew who he really is. I would point out to those complaining about admissions fees etc that it is hugely expensive to run Althorp. Diana's brother's doing what he can do to keep the place going. The island was created precisely so people couldn't get to her after being chased after her whole adult life. I regret that so many people look for conspiracy theories in everything. Literally everything. I might add that there are ways to protect the grave despite the surrounding lake. Anyway for those who enjoy conspiracty theories, knock yourself out.
When me and parents were on holiday we went to sign the book at the church when we was there we noticed the area you were pointing was interrupted didn’t think anything of it however it looked like a special grave being prepared for our princess I believe she is resting their with those that loved her most ❤️
We were stationed in Bentwaters England growing up. Had the privilege of seeing the most gorgeous cemeteries and church’s. I even shook the Queen of England’s hand during a field trip.

It has so much vegetation & trees, that there could be a mausoleum on the island & still not be seen. Therefore burying underground not required.
Plus besides protecting the church let's not forget Charles makes twenty five pounds a ticket for tourists to Althorp.
Because they're aristiocrats, they don't want the public walking round nosing and possibly vandelising their family's graves that date back centuries.
Often tombs are cordoned off. It's not unusual. That said the church and the Spencer family don't want the whole place to become an entire circus with constant visitors and tourists. We've seen the damage this can do to a place.
I agree with you. Why the security camera and the alarms
People can still do that if they wanted too etc.
The water issue always bothered me . I just don't see her buried there . I hope she is in the chapel . 💖

She didnt grow up here. Her father inherited it when she was 14. Until then she lived in Park House on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk.
They want you to believe she’s buried on the island. Only close family know her exact location. So they can grieve in private

I never thought of water logging. They have those grave lining for that though but I think your right
@@FreeRangeChiHuaHuas you are correct about 'linings' but it's still a very bad idea..I genuinely think it's a good case for 'misdirection'..as was said in the video..three attempts to grave rob were thwarted..imagine their surprise to find an empty grave

But thinking about how waterlogged the earth would be on the little island I can’t imagine they would be able to dig a hole six feet deep, it would be like digging waterlogged sand so as fast as they take the earth out it would be falling back in. It's possible to have submerged a vault on the island. This could have been a publicity stunt to get visitors to the bankrupt estate. 🤔
I think she might be in an urn in the church.
Does matter where Diana is buried. She is with God. Rest in peace to the princess of the people of the world.
Thank you for the tour and I think you are right!
I think she rests in the Church .
there is no tomb, that's the point....
She is where she should be , buried with her family ancestors.
Makes tons of sense.
No such thing as princess diana. Read up please.
You are right, I would to talk more of this with you
Hello Susan
Amazing walk about. There is something about our mortality that we don’t easily come to terms with. I am from South Africa and was involved with environmental planning for cemetery sites … some of my time involved assessing existing cemetery sites which included some old Boer, English, Irish, welsh and African graves all over natal. Thanks for the walk about …glad I am not the only one who is fascinated by old burial practices
Keep safe and remember to do good - our time on this earth is limited, make it count for something.
Sounds like an interesting job you had there. Be safe and good too. x

For 25 years now, I believe in my heart that the most loved Princess is not buried at the center of the lake. Princess Diana loved people, hence, she was know as the "People's Princess" and loved her family. She must be buried somewhere inside the church.
she was only known as the peoples princess after blair called her that in his speech
No such thing as princess diana. Read up please.
Have you met him? Do you know him? Do you know his heart? No, I didn't think so.
I remember that article

When me and parents were on holiday we went to sign the book at the church when we was there we noticed the area you were pointing was interrupted didn’t think anything of it however it looked like a special grave being prepared for our princess I believe she is resting their with those that loved her most ❤️
We were stationed in Bentwaters England growing up. Had the privilege of seeing the most gorgeous cemeteries and church’s. I even shook the Queen of England’s hand during a field trip. If I could move back I would. Absolutely one of my favorite place’s in the world. Thank you for sharing. I have amazing memories in England.
Hard to say where she is buried.
Such a terrible ending to her life.
She deserved so much better in every way.....
She is so missed......
As a commoner she was secretly cremated without ceremony and the remains were just disposed of.
@@Janus-fn2uz ,
Is that from a reliable source?
Are Ladies considered commoners?
She was born a Lady, correct?
I have no doubt that her ex and in laws would have preferred to do that to her, but what about the Spencer family?
Such a mystery........
@@bethelle9099 She was an Honourable when she was born as her father was still a Viscount. She became Lady when her father became Earl Spencer in 1975. Commoner refers to anyone who is not born royal. So yes, she was a commoner.
thank you so much to shown the Diana Spencer at grave
