I think this is one of the rare occurrences, where one of my favorite professors, Mr. Verma, has made a mistake in his book. If you go to Feynman lectures - Chapter 43 -Diffusion -> Drift velocity, the last paragraph explains what's wrong with this logic.
Completely agree that we are dealing with classical assumptions here. But under these assumptions, the correct answer is -eEtau/m and not -0.5eEtau/m.
    Details:
In the book, drift velocity is calculated as the 'average distance traveled between the collision'(L)/'average time taken between the collision'(tau)
and then L = 0.5 a(tau)^2. This is an error.
'L' should have been 0.5a[t1^2 +t2^2+t^3....]/N. notice, this is NOT equal to tau^2 [tau^2 would be (t1+t2+.../N)^2]. Here t1, t2, t3 represent the time between various successive collisions.

this can be checked in "drift velocity and collision time" by Donal M Title American General of physics.

It depends on how the drift velocity is defined
in wiki and few texts it is defined as : drift velocity is the average velocity attained by charged particles, such as electrons, in a material due to an electric field.
under a force, the velocity attained is 'at' for the eqation 'v = u +at' with u as 0. in between every collition it is this velocity that is attained by the electron, many such collisions and many such in between period, the average of it is 'a*tou' where tou = average time between collitions.
so by definition Vd = a*tou
what it is not is the distance traveled by electron by time over long period. u can seperately define it that way but the two definations are different.
this second way of definition is used by H.C. Verma which makes sense, but as it is different from the first one, it will give different results. also it becomes a little bit complicated to get exact expression and needs bit more assumption
    in the second way as the focus is on distance traveled, you use 's = ut + 1/2 a t^2' to calulate the distance traveled between each collitions. so 's1 = 1/2 a t1^2' now add all this s1 s2 upto sn to get '1/2 a * (t1^2 + t2^2 + ....)/(t1 + t2 + ....)'
and now to simplify it further u have to use more assumption like t1 = t2 = .... = tuo. this is again not necessary as it can also be assumed that t1, t2, ..... so may be taken from some other destribution like normal destribution which may make better sense but will give different result(final expression).
the first feinition cuts out all this complications and straing way defines as the velocity attained making the expression easy to calculate, but we can not use it to calculate the distance covered by electron, the secaond way is focused to calculate the distance drifted by electron but is difficult to calculate and needs more assumptions like distribution of the time intervels.
but then again as H C Verma said if u want to calculate rigorously than we have to use quantum mechanics as electrons are not tiny balls and we can not apply kinematics in this simplified form.

But sir the problem still remains the same that why NCERT used v=u+at and you used s=ut+1/2at^2? I think the 2nd equation is more correct to calculate drift velocity because avg. Velocity is total displacement upon total time but if we go by ncert derivation we would find that the meaning of there drift velocity comes out to be the velocity at any instant but the avg. For all electrons in the wire, but by your derivation it comes out to be the average velocity for a single electron over a long Period of time so not just the expression the whole meaning of drift velocity is changed??it's so confusing

I think, energy is playing important role here, to bring two north or south poles of of magnet ... the nature or we want to apply more energy so that is why it is not favoured...
You may ask why the energy required is more to bring north- north pole....
I think it is because the magnetic field lines are in opposite directions.. if we put N-N Poles . it is difficult to overcome.
Then,, how magnetic field lines are there... First of all they are imaginary lines that we have created to study them clearly... Then how can we say it is 100% true... Yes,, we are not saying it is all true, if any other theory comes apart from this which is able to Explain the properties of magnet better than this, we will apt to new theory.....
Physics is nothing but a subject we have created to make of life simpler by studying the nature.. and getting apted to it and to find how to live by using the components which are available in nature and universe..
The nature and universe behaves themself in their way by spending less energy and to get more stability (equilibrium)

sir it is said by einstein that nothing (information) cant travel at speed of light ...
but take this self thought experiment
say i am traveling at 1/2 the speed of light
and an astroid is travelling at a speed of 3/4 the speed of light but in opposite direction to me ...
so from my frame of reference wouldn't that astroid be moving at a speed greater than speed of light??
im a 12th student , and know nothing about theory of relativity yet but i have heard it at many places like the concept of spacetime , gravity isnt a force and etc ... but it doesn't makes sense to me...

Here negative sign indicates the direction of acceleration of electrons which are moving in opposite direction of uniform electric field.
In Sir HC Verma book the equation of drift velocity is derived by using first equation of kinematics .

    Sir I have a question ...
We all know that sun exerts a constant gravitational force on our earth. But if thus was so then the orbit of revolution of earth around sun would have been circular. But according to Kepler's laws it is elliptical....
What is the fact behind it..
Sir please make a video on this..

Assume this space to be a fabric
Higher the mass of an object, higher the depression it creates on the fabric and thus the objects with comparatively lower mass starts revolving around it under the influence of the object with bigger mass
      And now your answer
When earth reaches at a place which is closest to the sun, it experiences maximum amount of gravitational force, thus the revolutional force of the earth gets maxed out (resulting higher speed of revolution) due to which it surpasses the sun from a certain distance, as it goes far, the potential energy in it starts to recede and thus gravitational pull of sun again starts increasing it's influence on earth and it's path gets bent

Another simple explanation might be that Newtonian forces act on both bodies and the sun is displaced from it's original position now so the earth exists its older circular path and enter a new circular path. Also this Newtonian force exists not only due to earth but also other heavy planets so this Sun's displacement is significant than considered in only Earth plus Sun system. Thus the path formed is an ellipse which you can get mathematically. If this explanation is satisfactory at a basic level of understanding hit the thumb's up!

Sir please sir draw the magnetic field lines due to moving of single electron
I searched it several times on google, RUclips, and asked to my teachers, friends but they couldn't draw the magnetic field due to single electron
    Plzzzz sir

If electron is not accelerating...and moving straight then magnetic field lines must be circular around electron(direction of magnetic field can be determine by you left hand!! Put you thumb in the direction of electron and curl you fingers..!
If electron is moving in in a circular path..then magnetic field is along the axis of rotation..!
Actually this all applies on current! But Since there's analogy, you can obey ..

Current is scalar quantity , and if the direction of current is specified in any case, we mean it is opposite to flow of electrons , but it is not vector as triangular law of vector addition can’t be applied
