- Edit: I really hope this held up to everyone's expectations!! I know there's a lot of questions, like why the dragons don't just straight up kill him like normal dragons would, but I don't want to give much of the story away. You'll just have to find out in the future 💕
FINALLY, after about 5 years, the second half of "The bird song" pmv is finally finished! I was never planning on finishing the pmv until a year ago because I saw how many of you wanted to see the finished pmv! Not to mention, I wasn't even satisfied with how the first one ended. I got too excited and decided to just finish it there. I think it worked out in the end because seeing this second part in my new style makes me feel so fulfilled.
I'm already expecting "I liked the old one better" comments (Along with ones asking why the dragons have more humanized methods of violence instead of just biting and such), but I still hope you all like it regardless! It follows the same exact script I had when I started the first one, so the only changes made here are some design and art-style changes. (ALSO fun fact: the beginning of this video takes place at dusk and night. the second part takes place during dawn. so the ending scene is actually the sunrise!)

Hey!! I just wanted to share some info on these characters, since I totally forgot to introduce them to you all!
The main character in this, the younger brother, is named Rumbin! He's probably around 15 during all of this (except for the flashback scene, he was much younger then). The reason he's so small compared to his brother and other dragons is due to him being "half-baked" during the egg stage, and is the runt of the family. Resulting in him being weaker, smaller, etc.
The older brother (the oldest sibling) is Quillen! I don't have much to say about him other than he's a pompous, self-absorbed, egotistical jerk. I could describe him as much worse than this.
The sisters name is Chanti! She's a very neutral character. She cares for Rumbin, but not enough to risk her own neck for him. she'd rather live life contently than help him in any way, since that would result in HER getting punished.
I have nothing to say about the mother. The father is the judge of their "justice" system in this small village. Let's just say it's very corrupt how they do things, and how he uses his authority.
And that's all I'll say! Feel free to dig through comments to read my other replies though, sometimes I let some secrets slip ;)
Oh! And the crystals are significant to ALL dragons. All dragons have crystals as they contain light-fueled energy that powers any of their elements. Its very important.
Anndddd dragons are very much flammable in my story since honestly, it doesn't make sense for them to be fire-resistant. And no, not all dragons in this breath fire. There are fire elementals, but these guys are venom elementals.

First one- Older brother confronts smaller bro about something. Pinkie tries to calm them down but Red freaks out, starts yelling. Pink freaks then and gets scratched on accident by red. Second one- Pink gets pissed accidentally kills red. Sister arrives and is empathetic. Parents see dead brother, burns pink at the stake for crimes with no chance to explain. Rip.
Well- I can say that red (Quillon) did attack him on purpose!!! I won't say anything else though 💕
I can see why people would think this looks like human violence instead of dragon violence, but keep in mind wof dragons have the similar methods.

I still go back and watch the original sometimes, so seeing this was definitely a huge wave of nostalgia!
This animation has so much emotion in it, all the scenes looks so detailed and you caught the carachters' emotions and expressions so well,

The Animation? Beautiful. The Details? Stunning. This is truly fantastic, especially how deeply the viewer can receive the pain from the main character here, just that one scene at 1:01 where you can clearly see the hurt in their expression, yet also the pained acceptance as they come to terms with the fact that they never would be loved. Once again, bloody brilliant job, mate!
I just have to say...
All of these designs are stunning.
I especially love the younger, more blue-green and tan dragon. With the turquoise gems.
The main and his brother also have great designs that contrast eachother so well. I felt that they were destined to clash from how one was dark and tall while the other was pale and small.

im assuming you mean either his mother or his sister, but other than that i can see no traces of blue on any of them that also have visible gems?
@@heimlichniccalsclownenthus1869 they mean the sister. She appears blue bc of the lighting when we first see her & the area under her chin is a kind of a light blue-green.
Okay so my take is, paler dragon is abused by his family because he’s the youngest/runt of the family, and they prefer his older brother. Older brother and runt get into an argument, and whether it be out of pure rage or self defense the younger brother kills his older one. His other sibling comes to comfort him (I’m assuming not liking the older brother either) but his parents aren’t to keen on their youngest killing their favorite son, so they tie him up for everyone to see and burn him at the stake.
Ooh! I love this so much! I'm gonna give a guess at what the story is judging from this and your old one:
So the lighter dragon was abused as a child, and treated as lower than dirt, thus leading him to be starved.
Because of this, the family started to treat him as a slave, apart from what I assume to be his sister, who showed great disdain for slavery, and tried to keep him as safe as she could.
One day, when light dragon was contemplating his life, his older brother came along and asked him to do something near impossible.
The lighter dragon said no, but his brother wasn't going to take no for an answer.
His older brother had him trapped, and the lighter dragon desperately tried to escape, leading to his eye getting cut out.
The younger dragon snapped, pinning him down and killing him with a sharp rock.
His sister came and comforted him, but his parents had him burned alive, other dragons coming to watch.
That's my take on the story, and I really enjoyed this! Thank you for making this!! :3
You got the first half semi-correct!! Except for the part about slavery and his sister. Well, kind of? I see it as more as them overworking him and treating him as more of a maid.

He was abused and was treated like a servant, he was just a mutt to them. And it’s really sad but he was just the smaller and weaker dragon than the parents wanted

@@duckseasun4324 no no, that is his sister! I was saying no to the part where she protects him and tries to keep him safe. She's pretty neutral. She cares about him, and is there to comfort him, but wouldn't risk her own comfort for him.

the part where they kill him with fire ... it gives me a fucking chill, oh god, the density of that scene made that whole part a horror scene
Okay, this might be a stretch but what I assume are the parents don't even look sad when the first dragon dies in the beginning. They look angry, but not sad. And satisfied when the little dragon is burned at the stake. Something tells me this family needs therapie.
"Why do dragon not bite each other?" Nah, forget those questions. I wanna know why they treated the youngest poorly? Why did her parents hate her? Why did the sister not care? Did she survive? What are the gems? Those are the real questions here.
By the way, the main dragon (the smaller one) here is a male, the only female dragons here are his sister and his mother

I discovered the original yearss ago and it was always one of my favourite pmvs to watch, it was so satisfying, only saw there was a part 2 today and wow! You've improved so much not just in your art but also in the storytelling, and fluidity of the pmv with the music, especially with the rock part!!

So here is my theory on the story
Pink’s parents and older brother abused pink, starving, beating him, and treating him like a maid. But not his sister, she treated pink like an actual person. One day Pink’s other brother, comes to pink with a task to do, and pink finally snaps and kills red. He realizes what he did, and comes to his sister for comfort. His parents seeing their favorite child dead, and the blood on pinks talons. Burns him at stake, but since the parents have a role in power, nobody can stop pink from Dieing, the parents send off pink’s sister so that she wouldn’t know, and couldn’t stop them. Pink ded.
I remember watching The Bird Song all that time ago- can’t wait for this!

Thought of commenting this before but didn't do it, now I'm gonna do it.
I assume when you say your dragons who instead don't claw or bite to tear out someones throat's (besides being a boring death to reread over and over again in any book) is because when someone who has been abused or traumatized for a long period of time deal out their pain and anger in brutal attacks. Example, when some murders happen and its multiple gruesome wounds, its always connected to long term anger or trauma of some sort. Hence, light young dragon killing his older brother with a rock was a brutal way to kill him and getting his anger out in the moment. The other dragons along with his parents burning him, was a more gruesome death that makes for a better reading and not bland story AND because they wanted it to be a slow death not a quick one, like a throat slicing or neck bite would be. Amazing animation and Ive rewatched the old one as ive said before! AWESOME!
So basically
" oh! Our son killed our other son! Guess we'll burn him! "
I immediately clicked and was not disappointed, the nostalgia and the art and the music and everything is just amazing!

I have a feeling that when the younger brother killed his older brother, the parents were pretty much pissed off that their favorite kid was murdered in cold blood.
So they probably came up with a fake story that the younger brother was possessed or cursed (like a witch or something like that) the whole village of dragons must've believed it as they were whispering to one another in the background while the parents were smiling maliciously at their sons sorrow and guilt while he burned.
But where's the sister? She must've sided with her parents to save her own skin from their wrath.
Either she hid from them to avoid suffering the same fate, or she wasn't present at her brother's death.

my theory here is that as a child, he was treated like shit, while his brother(?) was praised and favorited. i'm guessing that something happened that caused them to fight, possibly the brother picking on him which caused him to snap and kill him. it kind of feels unfair to our poor main, but his actions were certainly not justified.
I find it so odd that his parents are... smiling?? While he's being burnt at the stake?? I mean, I know he did a bad, and probably wasn't favored in the family, but they look happy their son is dying. Are they that cruel?
I just love looking at the both of them side by side. You can really see the improvement and the way your style has changed. I personally really like the new looks that they have from the crystals on the chest to the horns and expressions
