Tenkaichi 3 was the pinnacle of the DBZ experience in a game. I've owned both Xenoverse 2 and Kakarot after that and -- cool as they may be, they just don't compare. Tenkaichi 4 or some spiritual successor with current gen hardware would be a dream.

(Old) Yet some or most of them are a waste of space especially having the same Special Moves that are either in Japanese or "Full Power Energy Blast" named moves. I'm glad that Fasha, Future Gohan, & some Original DB Characters like Eighter and Nam are in there but others characters that no one hardly plays as (we literally have a character named "Frieza Soldier"). Also I wish we could've at least Customize our Favorite Characters Skills/Moves so there wouldn't be too much Variations taking up space!

Also we never choose Saibamen & Cell Juniors, why play as them for teams when we can play as a Team of Favorite Characters (like Goku, Krillin, & C18) or Underdog Favorite Characters (like Eighter, Fasha, n' others that aren't just Minions with No Personality).

Sigh i remember playing it on my wii. On the wii version you had to literally move your arms and hands around like you were doing the attack irl. Like for a spirit bomb you had to physically raise you habds above your head. Or to do a kamehameha you had to pull both your hands to your lower side hip area bc the wii motes would sense the movements. Made me feel like a dbz character.
My best friend and i woukd order pizza and then choose our favorite teams and let the cpus fight eachother while we watched and ate lmao. Good times.

This was pretty true. Those controls back then were so fire! They had it set up so fun. Fusing in fight, powering up on the go, the clashes, the messed up fuses, and even the ring outs in the tournaments were all just awesome! Although, the ring outs could be unpredictable at times. But still, an unpredictable ring out was still better than knowing even if you spirit bombed a dude, he was staying in that ring. Lol. And let's not forget about the biggest part.......couch co-op, which most games made today lack. Instead of an already overpriced second controller, you're supposed to buy a second system, second game, second tv, and second subscription, just so two people in the same house can play a game that should already be co-op together.

Same but i disagree for the hand pain...the one who deleted my thumbs daily was Ultimate Battle 22/27, where every special attack was performed by sliding your thumb on directional buttons in a circular/semi-circular way + the ki button in 1 sec or less. It was fucking Vietnam there

Tenkaiichi 3 was seriously the closest to actual DBZ fighting. The combos, the speed, the ability to dodge/teleport, the beam struggles, like to me... it's the only REAL DBZ game.

When we mean actual DBZ fighting, we mean the ability to fly around a 3D space choosing to either get in close for some fast paced melee combat or blast them from a distance. Xenoverse took what Tenkaichi did and dumbed it down immensely, which is why i dislike the Xeno series.
Fighterz is more fit for Competitions and Tournaments, yes and is a lot more technical, But you can’t say it’s actually replicating the DBZ experience

More so that many characters back then were clones since the roster was so big and the current game each character is unique so they take longer to develop.
Pope for the same characters yea but you could tell the difference of combat back then from when you went from base to super Saiyan to ssj2 too ss2 used to be my favorite form for goku n teen gohan with the flashy spin attacks in the combo
@@mrkrotos123 Oh yeah for sure the main characters were fleshed out, I more so meant for all the side characters. They were exception like Hercule but other characters who had very little screen time had duplicate moves. Dont give me wrong I loved all of them and playing characters like Grandpa Gohan but yeah that's sadly why the roster has to be so small now.

well, adding characters for a game like tenkaichi where everyone plays the same way is way easier than for a fighting game that has rather unique and different playstyles...that´s also why the xenoverse games have that many characters

It makes me feel good to know that when I was a kid playing these games, I wasn’t alone in it being a safe/comfort time for me. Like id go to school and then come home and just play this shit all day long. I never knew I’d miss these games this much until they stopped making them like this and came out with the xenoverse bullshit.
Fr bro me and my brother used to be going crazy on that tenkaichi 3. They had a bunch of characters and forms so it was endless fun
Dude it had so much potential to be a great game but the devs got too greedy trying to make everything a cash grab dlc and didnt fix the main problems like the stamina break bs, i hate getting ragdolled because stamina but you need stamina to do ANYTHING also the game has no actual nuance..just slapped together clips from zeno 1 and a really linear story with no difference from the main story, no exploration, and no what-if stories...this game is lacking everything kakarot has and thats why i love it and tenkaichi so much more than zeno
i agree man, but tenkaichi was too basic of a series. everyone played the same just different abilities when you pressed the super buttons. which was too damn stupid for me.
@@mikeduff3431 Yeah it had a few aspects i didnt like but imagine if they kept improving on it...that would have been some heat raging blast sucked even though it looked good i know a lot of people were disapointed with the past few dragon ball games honestly zenoverse 1 was trash too and all they did betweeen that and 2 was add a larger fishbowl to move around in and the ability to fly but no exploration outside conton city🤦🏽♂️
@@MrMutou True i didnt like xenoverse, comptetitively and the story was good though. Fighterz is really good but i cant figure it out honestly. I cant figure out how to do one stair case combo and it frustrates me how fast the inputs have to be put in. But budokai 1,2,3 to me were my favorites. took some thought to actually put out the combos and link to other super attacks it was nuts. after that they just piled down. I think their was a good one for ps2 called Super Dragon Ball Z i remember which was fun as hell.

Still my favorite Dragonball game after all these years. One thing I loved about this game was that it actually seemed to have powerlevels. It was a lot harder to win with characters who were weaker in the show so it made for a great handicap system.
I got so much nostalgia watching this.

I remember trying to initiate a beam struggle every chance I got because I loved how well they were done. It was probably one of the most satisfying things about that game. Ended up with countless blisters from mad rotating the joysticks.

Anyone else confused that their current-gen console controller has stick drift, while their Gamecube controllers are still working perfectly fine? 😂😂😂
I mean most GC controllers have snap back which is a lot worse than the drift on ps4/5, switch pro, and standard xbox controller. It's so bad that the melee Community has to play a modded version of the game that accounts for it. They also have standard stick drift because all analogue sticks do, it's only that stick drift is brought up more often now because of the xbox elite and joycon having stick drift so bad it made both of them practically unusable.

@Tepes Fighter z would’ve been a better game if you could transform through one character and be allowed to fuse only if Goku and vegeta are on your team. And if you could do level 3 clashes like In this game. I like it better too buts it’s missing some stuff to set it apart and not get boring
@@roml9235 It's just my personal preference. I played games like BT3 and Burst Limit when I was younger, but never got that full-on nostalgia for them like others did. Hell I could barely remember them until I played them recently, so in a way FighterZ is the first DB game I genuinely enjoyed.
