      😍HI!💐 Thank YOU!! I have been thinking of you, these past days, when I was moving the rupicolous cattleyas to their winter staging area, but I could not do a live stream, or a comprehensive update, because I was rushing to get things done, ready for the 'chiddos to come inside. BUT, I will have a video on them when things settle down with the current work load 👍🏼 so, thank you so much for watching and commenting... I got to tell you this 😊 have a wonderful rest of your evening and wishing you the same for your weekend 🫶🏼❤️🌸

      Hi Linda 😍💐 I hope that I am getting better at being more precise with my delivery so as not to do too much which can easily lead to confusion. I appreciate your feedback, and time watching the video TWICE! Thank you so so much for that additional support 🙏🏼 one day, a video will get the 100 likes within 48 hrs, if it isn't this one, then hopefully another one will be the first. I will make a community post for when that happens 🥳 know that, I so appreciate the thought of liking the video twice! Wouldn't that be wonderful? I have watched so many videos that deserved more than one like 😃 Thank you for the encouragement and the motivational vibe of your comment! I hope you are having a fabYOUlous Friday 🫶🏼❤️🌸

    I thought this was going to be a video filmed over the summer because Nina doesn't do repots this time of year. You've made me question reality.🤣

    • @NinjaOrchids
      @NinjaOrchids  День назад +1

      Don Miguel 🥰💐 hola jefe! I was so mad that the pot only split where it did 😆 figured, might as well get this done because it is one that I have to carry outside every sunny day, during the winter. Minimize any accidents. Now I saw that my guarechea pot is also snapped at the rim, so, I may just attack that one sooner rather than later as well. It needs a bigger pot next year, anyway, and is in active growth. Another simple bump up should not be an issue. BUT, my rupicolous cattleyas, they have not needed any repotting all these years, but when the ones in active growth during this time of year, need a repot, I will go after them as well. Same with my digbyana. I have to watch one new growth, right up against the edge of the pot. If, in January, the roots are not making it into the media... we are going to 'do this' and then 🤞🏼 😅 thank you so much for watching, Michael! I hope that you are having a fabYOUlous Friday 🫶🏼❤️🌸

    🦒👏🤩 The minute scale is the worst, oh I hate it. This type of scale and the common one are stuburn and willing to thrive at all costs 😅 Mealy bugs seem to have gone, probably gathering forces for a come back in style 😐 Btw, how grown up is the Myrmecophila spike? Can't wait to see the blooms 😅 ❤❤❤❤

      FFF 😍🙌🏼🤸🏼‍♀️🥰💐 good evening, meine liebe Freundin! It is HORRIBLE!! Why?? Why is it even here?? 😡 Happy to hear that your mealy bugs have left the plants, same here! For now, which is a plus, I suppose. I think my spike has dried up. There is no more movement, and I am not touching it because maybe that is what it does before it takes off again... I doubt it though. It looks like it did not want to show us any fleurs this time around. It probably thought that it would left the next new growth that is currently trying to mature, do the heavy lifting. However, that is not going to happen, because what the orchid doesn't know is that, it is going to be in darkness very soon. 🥲 I have a wonderful root system though, so I will take that and vamos a ver el año que viene 😬 sorry to disappoint there, amiga mia! I would love to see the blooms as well... so, the ball is in your court now 😅 thak you so much for watching! Wishing you a wonderful evening, after a hopefully great day 🫶🏼❤️🌸

    Thanks for sharing the interest video today. Your plant seems to be doing very well and some lovely roots. Hope she grows for you. Nice to see the flowers were quite warm and rainy. No sunshine had to change my way that I do my watering every 10 days now because it’s so damp here, but I have to be careful but I don’t overwater, so I just look at them and see what the roots are like they are growing okay got two flowers coming out in bloom always come out later. Hope you have a lovely weekend and see you soon.❤❤❤😮😊

      😍 Hi Laura 💐 knowing that having the Zip in a cleaner substrate than then somewhat mangy looking one at the surface, prior, also was one of the factors that I figured, get this done and then hope she will be ok during the winter 🤞🏼 I hope you find her, because she is truly a beautiful orchid! Interesting video. What are the symptoms of magnesium deficiency? Also, I’m not sure what “reticular?” refers to. Can you explain?

    • @NinjaOrchids
      @NinjaOrchids  День назад +2

      Hi Liz 😍💐 thank you for the feedback and thank you so much for watching! I appreciate the time and support that comes with it 🙏🏼 blotchy light yellow / green 'apparitions' on the older leaves, while newer growths show the color of the leaves as they should be without any discolorations, are a sure sign of magnesium deficiency. If you would like to have a brief run down on other deficiencies, with trouble shooting and examples for correction suggested in care cards, here is a link to that video ruclips.net/video/WR2f5ASsczg/видео.html however, if you would like to jump to the magnesium deficiency part, here is the timestamp 10:42 . The term rupicolous is used to reference a group of orchids that grow on rocks ... living among, inhabiting, or growing on rocks. There are many rupicolous orchids, many of which fall under the Australian dendrobiums as well, so it is not limited to cattleyas or laelias, as well as does not only suggest miniature orchids. I hope this helps. Many actually say 'ridiculous cattleyas' because they are not easy to get right in cultivation 😅 Please let me know if the video I suggested was of any help and if it prompts any further questions, do not hesitate to ask away 🤗 wishing you cozy evening, lovely lady 🫶🏼❤️🌸

    Hi Nina, and thanks again for yet another video packed with great information. I was wondering if you would ever replace clean water flushes with clean water and at bit of calmag? Is that something that would be useful to the orchids or is plain water a better choice? Your advice is greatly appreciated. 🙏 ❤😊

    • @NinjaOrchids
      @NinjaOrchids  2 часа назад +2

      Hi Wanda 😍💐 thank YOU, lovely lady, for yet again another kind and encouraging comment! I truly appreciate you 🫶🏼 you can absolutely flush with calmag, there is nothing wrong with that. I choose not to, because it takes a lot of product for the flushes, and I cannot afford the 'waste' of the product as it just pours through the pot. But, it is not a must to use plain water. I do it for cost reasons 🫣😬 I hope that you are having a beautiful day and thank you so much for watching 🫶🏼❤️🌸

    Please don't change laelia to Cattleya.... They just aren't the same. It's not efficient when these name changes actually make it harder to make sense of. I also will not call neofinetia, vanda. Though they are vandaceous... They are just different.

    • @NinjaOrchids
      @NinjaOrchids  2 часа назад +1

      I wish I could just stick with laelias, Laura! That would be my preference 100%, but as I am running a channel that deals with orchids, I have to put out information which is as correct and up to date as possible. So, when I get new info coming in, I have to do my best to adapt accordingly. It bugs me, because, especially the mini cattleyas, they just don't sound right being called cattleya. Just like you, I too, have a hard time calling Neos vandas. I mean, even Neostylis Lou Sneary sounds and fits better than Vandachostylis Lou Sneary 😔😤 there are many on this platform that are just out for an opportunity to blast any creator that misspeaks... I am doing my best to avoid being on their radar 🫣 but, 🤫 I share your sentiments 100%

    • @NinjaOrchids
      @NinjaOrchids  День назад +2

      Hi Joe 😍💐 Richard Muellers are wonderful hybrids! The only thing that I find such a shame about them is, to my knowledge none of them picked up the nodosa fragrance. Unless, I am misinformed, none of the Mueller hybrids have a fragrance. BUT, if there is a fragrant one, then I would be interested to know so that I can one day get it 😊 I am grateful that the Zip is still growing so well, even if I cannot get it to bloom any time soon. I dare not leave it outside for the high light it loves, during the winter, because of the tenebrosa parent. I do schlepp it outside every day during the winter, though, sooooo.... I guess it doesn't even like a single day of gloom either. 😅 (I can relate!) 😆 thank you so much for watching, Joe! I appreciate you and your kind, generous support here on the channel! Hope you are having a great day 🫶🏼❤️🌸
