You have a way of eliciting some deep thoughts and emotions from your interviewees. I'm impressed. Great work! And btw, Dongguan is a lovely city. I've been there a couple of times as it's a good friend's hometown. It's definitely not the most modern or rich city but Dongguan people are really sociable and have a good attitude. I noticed that when I was there too. Possibly the most easy to get along with people I've encountered across China. Thanks for the great upload, and looking forward to more!
I stayed in Shenzhen for six years ten years ago. I didn't expect Dongguan to be so dynamic. Before, I only knew that nightlife was very rich. Seeing these young people, I feel that the city is very charming.
i dont usually like youtube videos or leave comments. But this episode shows how different the young people in china is. their future is bright. Singapore here.
The younger generation of Chinese people is certainly different from what you'll find from the rest of the world. They just seem to have a different mindset and mentality. That guy hustling working delivery jobs and selling insurance is a prime example. It's all about culture and identity, no wonder Chinese society could stand for more than 5000 years (and still counting).
@@augustinewong2191 There are no written records from that time. The first written records about that time came over 1500 years later... Not that accurate hence it can be regarded as myths. History starts with written records.

This is one of the best episodes of “travelogue” about China on RUclips that I have seen. Breathtaking scenery, exotic food and unique history are interesting. Ultimately, what is fascinating is the people you meet and the in-depth glimpse of who they are.
I always loved this 3AM series. It's crazy how you can have rather 'deep' conversations with strangers. Often got stunned by the thoughts they have. Great!

Running into a Chinese young lady in the middle of the night who is a German translator! How's that for the improbable. Abundant possibilities in China.
A blonde Chinese girl speaking German with a little Chinese accent... She's probably not the only one, but that can't be common! I can only imagine she's a hit in Germany? Then imagine being recognized on the street in China! Thomas seems to be recognized pretty often actually. He's pretty unusual looking in China, but still there are a lot of people. Even if he has a million viewers, that's less than a tenth of a per cent of the people! This seems like a lucky day, he should buy lottery tickets or something.

很对。空喊人生大目标没什么用，美国平民窟里喊人生大目标的人还真不少。我就是走一步看一步，顶多计划2-3年目标。但存钱投资的习惯保持着，因为老后不能指望任何人来照顾自己。在美国干了30多年，一不小心成为最富的1%美国人，年收益超过中产家庭的10倍收入。自己也没能想到走到今天的地步。

The younger generation of Chinese people is certainly different from what you'll find from the rest of the world. They just seem to have a different mindset and mentality. It is not actually 5000 years. More like 3600 years. That is when Chinese history started. The time before that are just myths and not history.

非常感动！想起了20年前的我，凌晨三点，忙完工作，一个人到Walmart买东西，巨大的Walmart灯火通明，但是几乎没有客人，那时候的我特别特别自豪！职业刚刚起步，虽然几乎什么都没有，但我知道一切迟早都会有的... 二十年后的今天，不必那么辛苦了，也确实有了几乎所有想要有的，但是还是特别怀念凌晨三点的Walmart...

很想念東莞，我在常平出生，常平當時真的是比較鄉下吧可以說 比起虎門石龍那些應該，連鎖店沒啥 大家樂不興香。當時我還小 身為00後，小學三年級前每逢長假期應該都會回去。雖然沒高鐵時，要坐舊火車，祖母帶著我 那時我0到2歲 沒太大記憶 現在我祖母都離世了。我爸那邊是香港人 母親客家人 只是當時祖父母有在常平買房子，後來母親來港做茶樓侍應 但我跟母親關係不好 父母也早就離婚 跟爸那邊住和在香港生活，小時候需定期回大陸為申請回香港 從幼稚園就在香港讀。香港對比常平壓力大好幾萬倍！以前在常平，餐廳可以選擇很少，科技又沒那麼發達 沒智能手機沒電腦 電視不好看又經常壞 我記得每天都是報三輪車被打壓。。。 那時候一早去吃早餐，去一下美宜佳，間中再跟祖母去弄頭髮或修美貌，然後叫多寶來外賣吃午飯，下午去公園玩玩或泡澡 (香港有幾多單位可以夠地方放浴缸?) ， 基本上這樣就過日子。真功夫的蒸蛋真的很好食😍 香港怎可能那麼平凡簡單沒壓力

能去福州嗎？我是在台灣出生的，目前定居在台北，我的老家在福州，曾經回去過幾次，現在台灣的新冠疫情非常嚴重.....看來這兩年肯定是回不去了。
希望不要誤導大陸民眾，台灣的疫情控制的很好， 目前只是暫時的， 很快就能控制住，最多再需要2周。

@@middalai6611 现在大陆的女生地位可以说在亚洲是最高的，进步更是明显，说明大陆父母对女孩子的培养和教育是开明健康的，对女孩子的支持是平等有力的。咋到他嘴里就变了个味道？怎么推论这类父母不多了？自己自卑还要拉上别人跪下来，骂他我都嫌算看得起他了。
