I just wanted to say, if you're considering Captions - do it. You get better SEO cos RUclips (or whatever) has your words rather than your voice, and also, it's almost impossible to watch a short (or whatever, Insta, TikTok) without reading the captions, and then the viewer watches it again, doubling your view time and causing the platform to promote your videos more. It's been incredible!

Love the app! One quick question: Why do the caption’s colors seem more dull when I export them vs. how they look in the app before exporting? The colors don’t seem as vibrant if that makes any sense. Not sure if anyone else has experienced this.

Thanks for watching 😊 Nope, there are no export limits with the Captions Pro subscription. iOS has a 5 minute time limit and Mac/Desktop have a 10 minute time limit (although we're working on extending this!)

Hello! I have a video where I’d like the opening captions to be in the middle of the screen at the beginning of the video, then the ending captions at the bottom of the screen at the end of the video. However, when I position the captions at the end of the video to be at the bottom, it REPOSITIONS the captions from the beginning of the video to be at the bottom of the screen as well. Basically, I can’t get separate captions positioned in different spots. The position of the captions is locked in for the entire video, even when I use the split video option. Does that make sense? Any thoughts on how to fix the problem? PS. I think someone else asked this (in a much more concise manner, lol), and the reply was “coming soon 👀” - that would imply it’s not available yet? 👀

Why on my iPhone I can see the captions on the video, but on desktop (same account, Pro Subscription) I cant see the captions on the video? I see the words, but they are not showing on the video. Hide captions option is on (or off) either way I don't see them. Could you help me please? Thank you

I downloaded it on my cell phone, but the settings seem different from your video and there is no way to proceed to use the other activations such as cutting etc..

Im using desktop app, and I can´t imagine doing video editing on a cellphone. Most of the options are not available on desktop app. I am having a hard time. How for example do I adjust/change the number of words per "caption" in a video? Many times it shows a word at a time, which is virtually impossible to read. Also is hard to adjust/transform the timming in desktop app. Those are pretty basic things, and I can´t operate without them.
You can adjust the timing and words per line from desktop! Select the template style you'd like to use, click the pencil icon in the top right. Scroll down and you can adjust the lines per page and words per line. If you have any other questions, please send us a message at hello@captions.ai 😊

If you're editing on your phone, it will save to your Photos. If you're editing on web, it depends on your export settings - but should save to either desktop or downloads!
I have an issue : why do the exported videos never have the first second of subtitles on screen ? On my editing screen in captions it shows subtitles but when i export, the first second never shows. I tried with multiple videos.
Is the manual Editing for the timing unavailable on Desktop? I've been loving Captions so far however on my second video the AI got the timing of one part of the video entirely wrong, however I can not find any option the adjust the timing on desktop. If I try to delete the words an manually add them in, the timing gets even worse as the software decides to just show the worst for 0.1 seconds.
Hey there! Currently, there are more time adjustment features available on iOS than on Desktop. If you're using the Desktop app, you can click on 'timing' to the left of the timeline to make some adjustments to when words will show on screen.
I dont have the EDIT WITH CAPTIONS feature on my phone..... wierd. Also would like to be able to have more of the text on screen at a time. How does one do that?
Hey Phil! We've made some slight updates on the app :) If you tap 'Captions' you'll be able to make edits and changes. If you want more text to show on screen at one time, you can head into the 'Style' tab to make adjustments to the number of words per line and lines per page!

If you'd like to add in your own voiceover - you can clone your voice. Tap on 'Voiceover' -> tap 'Add' -> tap 'Create your AI Voice Clone' -> read the 1 minute script to add your voice clone and save for future use!
Is there a way to have the caption location in different areas on one project? I have videos where there's one person on screen and the two or three and sometimes when the caption is just dead center in the screen when it cuts to a part that there are three people on the screen the caption covers their face.

The App seems to work very good. But it seems that it is not possible to change the project titles in the list? They are AI generated but I want to write my own titles. Do I miss something here?
Great question! You can edit your title if you want to add in an AI title to your video. At this time, you can't rename the project on the Projects page. If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out to us directly using our in-app support. 😊
Great question! The best way to do that from the Captions app is to upload a video of the image/background you want and then add an AI Voiceover over the video. Otherwise, the app doesn't currently offer a feature for quite what you're looking for.
Quick question. Suppose when I do the ai voiceover I just want the voice and not the caption. Is there a way I can keep the voiceover and not have the caption on the screen. The one I am doing it for already has captions. Thanks
You can reposition the captions by tapping on the captions and dragging it to your desired location. You can also use two fingers and pinch in or out to make them smaller or larger.
Is there a split feature in the works? That would be helpful for manually editing out repeated takes since I tend to record one continuous video and edit afterward.

While it seemed like a great idea, your desktop version is simply crippled and very limited compared to the iOS version. Its impossible to edit timing for missed captions, so if AI did not recognize a phrase or a word adding it is simply impossible! Also, your support takes AGES to answer. and yes I am a paying customer. too bad!

@@captionsai podcast that I went to work on or typically between 45 minutes to an hour and a half anything over about a half an hour will be over 1 gig,, I was thinking about chopping it up in another program then bringing it to captions but that's tedious
Wanna hear something intresting? App asked for my credit card, now i am a subscriber but I am NOT able export the captioned file in the orignal aspect. I use 18:9 but it changes to 16:9!!!!
We are available for download on the Apple app store. We aren't fully optimized for iPad, but you can user our Desktop app if you're prefer to edit from a larger screen.
I first edit the video on adobe premier pro and change the frame to 16:9 however after I've added captions to the video on Captions, the frame changed back to the original one. Any idea on how to keep the frame of 16:9 on captions? Thanks!

If you're editing on your phone, it will save to your Photos. If you're editing on web, it depends on your export settings - but should save to either desktop or downloads!

I have an issue : why do the exported videos never have the first second of subtitles on screen ? On my editing screen in captions it shows subtitles but when i export, the first second never shows. I tried with multiple videos.

Is the manual Editing for the timing unavailable on Desktop? I've been loving Captions so far however on my second video the AI got the timing of one part of the video entirely wrong, however I can not find any option the adjust the timing on desktop. If I try to delete the words an manually add them in, the timing gets even worse as the software decides to just show the worst for 0.1 seconds.
Hey there! Currently, there are more time adjustment features available on iOS than on Desktop. If you're using the Desktop app, you can click on 'timing' to the left of the timeline to make some adjustments to when words will show on screen.

Does captions have a maximum file upload size? I just tried to upload a file on the mac desktop version and couldn't but I could on descript.
The max files size is 750 MB for desktop!
I dont have the EDIT WITH CAPTIONS feature on my phone..... wierd. Also would like to be able to have more of the text on screen at a time. How does one do that?
Hey Phil! We've made some slight updates on the app :) If you tap 'Captions' you'll be able to make edits and changes. If you want more text to show on screen at one time, you can head into the 'Style' tab to make adjustments to the number of words per line and lines per page!

How can I use voiceover with my own voice to a video? And not the AI
If you'd like to add in your own voiceover - you can clone your voice. Tap on 'Voiceover' -> tap 'Add' -> tap 'Create your AI Voice Clone' -> read the 1 minute script to add your voice clone and save for future use!
Is there a way to have the caption location in different areas on one project? I have videos where there's one person on screen and the two or three and sometimes when the caption is just dead center in the screen when it cuts to a part that there are three people on the screen the caption covers their face.

But it seems that it is not possible to change the project titles in the list? They are AI generated but I want to write my own titles. Do I miss something here?

Quick question. Is there a way I could choose a photo image and then go record live with it in the background. And not me. Just with my voice only.
Great question! The best way to do that from the Captions app is to upload a video of the image/background you want and then add an AI Voiceover over the video. Otherwise, the app doesn't currently offer a feature for quite what you're looking for.
So can I then just do my own recording or just populate the ai into it. And plus do I have to generate the text first

You can tap 'delete all' on the captions after generating your voiceover.

I can’t seem to find the settings to reposition the captions down on the mobile app. It’s always right on my face.
You can reposition the captions by tapping on the captions and dragging it to your desired location. You can also use two fingers and pinch in or out to make them smaller or larger.
Is there a split feature in the works? That would be helpful for manually editing out repeated takes since I tend to record one continuous video and edit afterward.
You can currently split clips! Tap on the timeline (video clip), tap 'split', and then choose the exact location you'd like to split and tap 'apply'

Where is the "edit with captions" options? I find edit captions but it doesn't take the whole sentences but by segment

While it seemed like a great idea, your desktop version is simply crippled and very limited compared to the iOS version. Its impossible to edit timing for missed captions, so if AI did not recognize a phrase or a word adding it is simply impossible! Also, your support takes AGES to answer. and yes I am a paying customer. too bad!

We are working on building out our web app, but we are aware it's missing some of the features from iOS. @@captionsai podcast that I went to work on or typically between 45 minutes to an hour and a half anything over about a half an hour will be over 1 gig,, I was thinking about chopping it up in another program then bringing it to captions but that's tedious
