(Posted this on the first video but it appears I was too late so here it is again) I don't think this was a particularly fair review. You're comparing NF to Eminem, one of the greatest rappers and lyricists of all time, just because he took inspiration from Eminem does not mean they are comparable. In "When I grow up" he literally says "Yeah, I might not be the best in my field But I guarantee that I'ma die real", I think you're missing the point and nitpicking for insane Eminem style bars with in reality NF makes good songs, what he lacks in insane lyricism he makes up for in his ability to make a catchy hook, and the fact that he has relatable subject matter. For instance, if we are going to judge talent purely on how insane the word play and bars are, you could argue Juice WLRD isn't very good, his Emo Punk Trap Rap style could come across very corny, most of his songs don't have insane lyricism, but rather Juice made songs that you could feel his passion and emotion behind, the same sort of passion and emotion you can feel behind NF's music. I think you're just mistaking his drive and desire to be the greatest with him actually thinking he's a master class lyricist. Stop overthinking and just enjoy it for what it is.

My brother whom I spend a lot of time and I feel we share a lot in common says that he thinks that NF sounds ANGRY and DEPRESSING. I was blown away that he didn't get the goosebumps or feel for the first time that someone finally related to him.
We all want people to feel what we feel but the truth I discovered is this. If you're suffering from SEVERE mental health problems then NF will speak to your soul, but if you aren't then you will probably just think he's a freaking crazy guy that needs to seek help for all of his issues.

I don't understand your frustration? NF is also still learning. Emenem has been around for a while. You're not going to fool me. That when you were pooped you could immediately walk or talk. Let NF say he's good. If he believes that and it helps him to get better. What's your problem with that then? Is it jealousy or envy? More people would have to encourage themselves then we wouldn't all have those insecure people. In your previous video you were comparing Eminem's latest albums to NF. Eminem has been around for a long time, NF hasn't been around that long. (Eminem's first 4 albums probably haven't been the best either.) NF's time is yet to come. What he achieved quite quickly makes him a good rapper. Better than the rappers who rap about money and their sex life. or how they are the real gangster right? My opinion: kids watch that, they think it's cool. And then one wonders why everyone behaves like animals. They may be good at rapping but they don't have the spirit and that's what makes NF good and all those other rappers shit. We need more rappers like NF and NEFFEX. I'm not saying NF is the best, but he certainly belongs in the list. You can probably burn me to the ground now with all the counterfacts. But that is possible on everything. And I'm certainly not the smartest either. I just have nothing to do right now. And put some down here to see what happens. But what I don't understand is why do you make such videos? The majority is for NF anyway. And this makes all NF fans cranky. So what's in it for you? Only theory I can come up with at the moment is. You're also bored, or you just want to get people's blood under their nails, or you like to be hated.

Man, I am obsessed with NF, but I have got to respect a well-thought-out logical answer.
I respected your thoughts on white people being guests in hip-hop when I normally cringe at statements like that. However, I've got something for you to ponder before proceeding.
As you pointed out there are so many different sub-genres of rap. For example, sad rappers utilized some of the fundamentals, such as rhyming and singing as quickly as possible to show off their lyrical talent.
So my only closing comment on white people being guests would be this. At what point in the future are they not guests?
Will a black country singer always be a guest? If not then at what point in the future does that change?
Willie Nelson and Rascall Flats don't sound the same at all, yet they are both country singers, right?
Calling all music creators "guests" in a genre because they don't match the skin color at inception may not be the right way to state that.
This is just food for thought.

Man the dislikes are ridiculous.. come on. I mean sure everyone has their own opinion, but you guys gotta be open-minded to valid criticism. I'm a fan of NF myself, but this mate's opinions make sense and frankly he defends them strongly. It's about giving suggestions for improvements, and that's not a bad thing. Quite the opposite. Like he pointed out, he really improved in Clouds. NF is still a fairly new artist and he's going places. Also unrelated, but excellent point on the racial/cultural origins of hip-hop, appreciate that you recognize that. Anyone's welcome in rap of course, but you can't brush off its history. Anyway mate I'm glad you spoke your opinion, it's useful to get a different perspective. I mean honestly I clicked on your first NF critique video expecting to disagree but I actually found more common grounds. And to those saying he's "spreading hate", did you actually listen to anything he said? He is very respectful in the way he approaches his points and he actually gives compliments on some aspects that NF does well. It’s what u like as an individual. But his brand is being a rea dude with real emotion. Without high dollar background support he wouldn’t have the following he does if weren’t for his raw raps. There are songs of his I don’t like but there are more that I’d do than I don’t. I know many critics don’t realize without saying it they don’t like his beat for a particular song. I think the point you made about the underground connection is a really good one. What I think makes NF with his quite clearly lacking execution so unique is that he represents the people that were never in the underground but also deal or have dealt with struggles. For example his mom's OD. Prescription addiction is something that breached the middle class. The pain he's gone through is far more relatable to a struggling middle class young adult or teen than how the underground style portrays it. The grandness of his songs puts emphasis on the new and powerful pain that the middle class has been feeling since 08 basically, or it really expresses the scars that were made from that period of struggle. It hits a new nerve and he didn't need the technical ability to hit it, he just needed the passion, because he's basically the only rapper to do that. He may be the first of his kind, and with that will come through new talent that may be able to execute better than him. Like "All I have" that feeling is probably pretty usual to the more underground scene, that's why things like basketball are taken so seriously its what all a lot of them only have. And someone from that scene is used to and surrounded by that so they may not make a whole song about it, or make one so intense about it. However to someone like me who hasn't been surrounded by it, just dealt with the scary nature of it once or twice growing up. That feeling is more grand, and the song in all its roughness resonates more to me because it's more grand and desperate about that feeling. Eminem's "Lose yourself" I think got so popular for simular reasons, it's all about that and it's intense about that in a way that branches out from the rap battles. I think also it's somewhat clean. And really I find that song better than "All I have" but that doesn't mean I still don't appreciate "All I have".
His songs being clean also I think plays into that crowd REALLY well. They grew up with far different environments that didn't touch on the "not clean" things that their parents probably defined. Listening to Eminem being so vulgar puts people off even if it's executed better. So I think NF isn't the best, but he just hits a nerve that rap never really has before, and it's probably expanding the genre to a different part of culture. Thats also probably why his fans let the poor technique slide since his audience never listened to traditional rap because they can't relate or comfortably listen to it enough to care, or comprehend that NF struggles with that. To his audience it's actually probably pretty impressive.
This is a lot more than I planned on writing but you made a good video lol.

    • @AdamPrinceBacon
      @AdamPrinceBacon  3 года назад +1

I think you make a really good point. I believe it's probably somewhat a combo of these things that lead to his rise to prominence. I believe that his topics do greatly lend themselves to personal connection, as you said. And it does greatly help that he's clean. I would like to clarify though that he is just one of the first rappers who talks about these subjects to break into the mainstream, not just mainstream rap but also just pop music. Many other rappers have discussed similar things. But he is the first huge rapper to talk about it. You did make great points though and I thank you for responding respectfully.

@@AdamPrinceBaconhi adam , i think you are really interesting in your thoughts on Nf. Im a big Nf fan and i get what you are saying about his thechnical skills. You don't look or sound like a hater and a troll to just piss people up and it think its great even though you hate him you see the potential and the talent and wanting him to improve. I think you just don't really know nf as a person and that's why some people don't like it. You are kinda right about his thechnical abilities that they are not really advanced and conplex but you have to realize that this is Nf. That's his style of music. Nf lyrics are mostly straight forward to the point to get the message forward. Nate is not really crazy with thecnical skills and he knows that . Its not his style and he is not trying to be the greatest and he is not trying to have Eminem thecnical ability. It may sound to you like he is trying to with flex songs but those songs are really just to swag off and show some cool vibe and talent.nf is not trying to be the greatest rapper ever he is doing this music mostly for his fans and for his health because it helps him. In my opinion his rhymes schemes are good and really improved from the first album but as far as wordplay and thecnical skills I agree he is not at high level but you need to understand that its not his style and he is not trying to be crazy thechnical rapper. Nf is more about the sound and the production and the message. He is more of a storyteller and can also sing very well

my criticism of NF isn’t really his technicals, although they’re not great. It’s how on the nose he is when he tackles ideas. It’s so direct and he doesn’t have the writing quality to pull that off. I also find that his production is extremely plastic and repetitive.

Do a video about why Tom Mandonald sucks. Here are my that guy about him.
I like Tom but Tom is creating a fan base that is very unapologetic and insensitive. There's a difference between having an opinion and shoving into people faces as if they're facts for everyone. It is a very dangerous platform he is creating. I agree that he is unintentionally creating division by thinking is waking up people. Soon if every one talks like him it will not make our problems disappeared but instead will make people blind to other people problem. Tom is talented but he is also a double edge 🗡️ sword. I don't quite understand the main reason behind Tom's latest music but he is at war with something. His loyal fan base will brush just about anything that he says as truth. Tom is a conservative and like to turn a blind eye when it suits him and sometimes his music is very arrogant as well. But people will scream "cancel culture" while God's word the bible says ; Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person." Colossians 4:6. He says he walks with christians but in one of his song, he says if he was black but at this point it sounds like he is trying to build a fan base by dipping in various topics lives. He should slow down a little with all this political crap. I'm sorry but I can't bump to Tom in my car with the windows down and As a Tom fan I am completely starting to see what he really is. He's the conservative canadian rapper that's making problems and even pulling out old baggages and pretending to be the Messiah. He likes to make himself a victim. Tom has insulted obese people, gays and transgenders, artists who are just fine with being signed to a record label getting their money on without if I may say "corrupting" the world as he like to put it he also insulted. He insults just about anyone who don't agree with him or adore him. A friend of mine gave a comment to one of his songs and rated it an 8 out 10 and Tom responded very negatively. He is very insensitive in some of his music towards the BLM movement. He even said in an interview that Trump was not to blame at all for the insurrection on January the 6th. I understand in some ways he is like literally saying let's just cut all this BS dividing us, but it easy for him to say that when has not experience the oppression of the black community. I find this to be extremely distasteful and inconsiderate toward people who are seeking equality and reparation. I do respect that he is an independent artist and all of that he's got a lot of talent but it is what it is.
