There is a difference. The English didn’t “install” Boris.
13 years ago he had an election and the Conservatives (think Republicans) won. Who ever is the head of the Party, be it Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrat’s etc becomes the Prime Minister. If that person leaves the job during the parties time in power, for what ever reason (resignation, vote of no confidence etc) then an internal party only vote is taken to select a new Prime Minister.
The populous don’t get a choice.

This is why I have issues with the government.
Since the quarantine lifted, I had convinced myself Covid wasn't as bad as it was because of the ebola outbreak years ago. The media stated that someone had ebola in the country, but there was no quarantine. The ebola virus could be in your body for 30 days before any symptoms show, just like any virus. That's 30 days of infecting anyone around you.
I thought either nobody had ebola, and it was the media jumping on that train, or Covid wasn't as bad as what they made it seem. However, at the time of Covid, I did think that it could've been used as some sort of population control. I know it really affected the elderly, children, anyone with immune deficiencies, and those already fighting off infections and diseases, and that's why so many lost their lives.
I'm not the sort of person to do what I want because of what I might believe. I stuck to the rules by wearing masks, keeping my distance, and I've always washed my hands a lot. I knew people's lives could still be at risk as it was like the flu, and we all know some people struggle when they have the flu, especially the elderly.
It really goes to show you have to keep an open mind when it concerns the government and the media.

It does seem like what a lot of people feared is the case. Government were so upset at the idea of protecting the elders and vulnerable, because it meant slowing the economy down temporarily. The flow of big money means more than people's loved ones.
I think it's quite interesting how a lot of covid-skeptics (it's just a flu, only oldies are at risk) were saying the same thing as Johnson whilst posing as anti-establishment

You would expect MPs and other staff to be telling others "ffs never say that in front of the PM or suggest we take that approach or he'll absolutely hit the roof!" As he said here the attitude and that term were normal.
