They're human, they're not perfect. They make mistakes. They have a bad day at work as we all do. To increase the chances of the happening is criminal. Because as you say, it's season defining. If we get 0/9 we're done. Excellent podcast as always Sheroy. I really enjoy your game analysis and you are spot on in that Arsenal team/fans/owners need to look inward. I’m hoping Arteta uses this game as the catalyst for us this season.
I think a very important factor in the long term this season is the fact that we had approximately 10 million pounds net spend in the summer and we are definitely going to have real money to spend in January to get some top-tier players into the team in January. We need to win against Liverpool at home, which we'll have better chances of doing if Bukayo Saka is fit for that game and Ethan gets his 90 minutes against Shakhtar Donetsk. If we do that, the trip to Newcastle will be a much less worrying affair - our captain is almost guaranteed to be fit to start there - and by the Chelsea game we could have both form and confidence back along with all the first-choice personnel fit to play. Then we'll have put all these difficult games behind us and could be looking forward to bringing in first-class reinforcements in January.
I do hear you, and absolutely - this Sunday is a must win. In an ideal world though, after being so close last season, we shouldn’t already need to pray for something in January when October isn’t even over yet. You got it wrong about the red imo Saliba‘s hand was not the reason why the striker fell. Saliba unintentionally touched the strikers feet with his own foot while trying to get from the inside to the outside, closer to the ball. Yes, he touches him on the shoulder but that alone would have not been enough, even with VAR. It was the feet. It was unlucky and clumsy. You could say it was because of inexperience though. And that’s actually why I think it should probably not have been a red card, but if so, the situation in the Liverpool-Chelsea game must habe been red too because the defender actually grabs the striker intentionally to stop him. Saliba‘s shoulder touch was just to slow him down and irritate him, not enough to make him fall. Watch again ;)
Definitely not the reason why he fell - but the hands made it far easier to send him off. Had it just been an unfortunate clash of legs they may have thought again. Sticking to my decision! 🤣
Sheroy the crucial question to ask is why are we getting ourselves such silly red cards . Is it that Arteta is jeeing these players too much , too much hype ?? I think we do need to take points off direct opponents at home you know, open up that gap a little more than it would be otherwise. Particularly as not many other teams take points off the likes of City and Liverpool thus far!
First games after an International break make me uncomfortable. It’s clear we take time to get back into our flow. But Big William’s red card cut deep 😓

@@SheroysVoiceHopeful indeed! I reckon we can nick a draw at the very least if we're lucky. But big up bro, loved the video and thanks for the words of encouragement. The Arsenal community really appreciates you mate! 🙌🔴⚪
I'm not doom and gloom but yesterday raised questions that had been simmering and I felt this sort of result could come, although not against the Cherries! I don't blame Arteta too much. Very disappointed but I have to have faith that if I keep my head, so too will Arteta along with the team and make some much needed adjustments. In this City era a loss can feel terminal but there's still a lot to play for, let's hope the team do learn because we can't afford many more performances like that if we're going for a title. Great episode Sheroy, thanks!
I hear you man. The issue is we keep talking about City but Liverpool will open up 7 points on us this Sunday if we don’t get ourselves in order. Hugely unfortunate with injuries of course but we did have an opportunity to address that… and we went down another route. Lots of variables!
I think the latter if there aren’t any fitness concerns as to that intended four, we’ve seen what happens when we try something new for the first time! It doesn’t always end well for us!
Well, no. There have been a lot of fans who have expressed concerns with our performances even though we won. This was a horrible performance, and a lucky Martinelli goal wouldn't have covered that up.
That was absolute disgrace on the weekend and I personally feel Arteta is at fault for this, I don't believe in that midfield that started I feel if Merino is to start do it and leave Rice/Partey out probably Partey give him some rest and you start Ethan, I would've played him on the wing either side and leave Trossard in the 10 spot. As usual BIG UP my guy and keep at the grind👊🏾💪🏾
Oh shush man - do you not realise that these are the underlying cracks! What we’re currently going through right now..from tactics to form tell me when city have gone through this phase in recent months
I asked ChatGPT your Howard Webb question. It answered: „Howard Webb’s guilty pleasure apart from football? Probably wearing his Manchester United pyjamas!“
If we don’t receive a red we win the game most likely. Why? Because after 15 minutes of high pressing from Bournemouth and us trying to find a rhythm, we actually started to gain momentum und started to get closer to their goal and create some half chances. Yes, we weren’t playing brilliantly but what do you expect after an international break with Saka, Ødegaard and Martinelli not in the line up. Of course we need some time to start to flow. But a silly mistake from Trossard and a clumsy and wrong decision from Saliba (plus Howard Webb intervening imo) cost us. I rewatched the game and we didn’t play awful considering the context. Also what nobody is talking about is that the small size of the pitch didn’t play in our favour. Anyway, let’s move on. We have a league to win.
My criticism is, unfortunately I think we have not done anything to bolster our squad with people Arteta actually trust. I jumped on a fan call for the Big 6ix where I said the window was a 3. Add that to our ill discipline. 3 red cards or 18 since Arteta joined, and poor selection doesn't help. This latest red card, I do not blame the ref, I think it was a red card. it falls on Trossard and Saliba. The only fault I can the ref is consistency among all refs.
@SheroysVoice love for the Love. What you content creators do, deserve the recognition. I definitely need to plan another trip to London. The flights from Australia are crazy tho
@@kunimitsune177 was piss poor those games too, but overall we’ve progressed as a team and a squad (you’d have hoped given the signings) but hence it’s why we didn’t win the league last year, we need to leave behind these kind of performances, I’d love to see us learn how to get a result when we play bad, whether it’s a draw or a win, any points on the board are better than none
About the Saliba red I think you are a bit not realistic, that same analogy happened to us against Aston villa last season.. not even a yellow was given when Konsa tripped down Saka in an almost identical position
@@SheroysVoice I did. It wasn’t that bad. It’s always a clearer picture after you’ve rewatched it, mate. Btw I think it’s great that you answer to every comment. You are doing great work. Thanks
Is there a way to avoid red cards without playing too soft. We simply can’t win if we’re not allowed to compete at the same level as our opposition. We were flat against B’mouth but they got A LOT of help from the referee.
I hear you but looking at the three red cards - the first two weren’t really about aggression, it was more about either not thinking you were doing anything wrong (Rice) and then an absolute lapse of judgment (Trossard). Saliba’s was also really not aggressive at all… so I think the balance can be struck. In fact, we did it for pretty much all of last season, and very well!
@@SheroysVoice Don’t think the Saliba incident was a red, barely a yellow since it was unintentional and barely any contact. But it’s clearly a subjective decision and somehow the referees don’t hestitate to be extra hard on Arsenal. And on top of that the players doesn’t seem to step up when we’re missing Ødegaard and Saka. From what I’ve seen Merino is highly overrated. But I will be fair and give him until the turn of the year to settle in.
When I saw the result, I couldn't help but laugh. This is too reminiscent of the last two seasons to not bring painful memories of what-ifs. The only way to heal of those would be to actually win trophies. Here in Greece, most of the people I see or friends I speak to, talk about Arsenal in the same way you UK people talk about Tottenham, "seems to be close to something but always finds a way to trip by itself, classic Arsenal". Similar to the "the only team Emery failed to win in a Europa League final with, classic Arsenal". The medicine to that once more would be to win trophies. But I'm afraid that this year will once again be failure and then all hell will break loose. I believe Arteta will win titles, but if he starts winning away from Arsenal and we're still in a drought that will only enhance the bad perception across the board, to fans and rivals alike. Too much PTSD, too little end-of-the-season happiness. We still support the team and each other and hope for the best. Thanks for the therapy Sheroy! Stay strong as well, we're all on the same side in the end of the day.
Not feeling the comparison with Tottenham, those guys haven’t won anything for 20 years. And yes I know we haven’t won the league in 20 plus years but there is a massive difference between the clubs. That being said I think your right about the PTSD, not enough joy from the fans with the progress, but a trophy will change that I just want the trophy to be a big one even tho I’ll take any at this stage
I think if he wins elsewhere then everyone (if they aren’t already) will start to look at KSE even more. We are relying on a lot of luck this year with the squad numbers… and so far that luck has not been with us! Definitely can’t compare us to Spurs though man 😭
@@SheroysVoice To be fair, Tottenham is rarely talked about in Greece, if at all, which shows who the "big boys" are. And out of them, Arsenal and United tend to be the most mocked over the past years. Especially Arsenal with the title drought.
I know we didn’t play well enough. But it really does seem like officials have got an axe to grind with us this season. It was 100% a red, but we’d have gotten away with the yellow (every other club that’s where it would’ve ended, us var chimes in and tells the ref he’s flapped it).
I hear you on that one. But sadly there are so many things within our control we should have done better that I just don’t place as much emphasis on the decision in this particular match if that makes sense!
I think out of the last 3 games, nwaneri must have got atleast 1 start. If you can't trust your bench to start against newly promoted teams at home, then you must have signed better ones in the window. I doubt if our manager even wants to have odegaard replacement.
I have couple of points, Nwaneri omission is puzzling but maybe he isn’t doing something that Arteta wants. Cameos can look good but think of Palmer for England when Saka has run the defenders into the ground all game, when he starts not so convincing. Shakhtar starting lineup and bench will give us an idea, RE forward line Definitely a Red but once a yellow given it’s quite puzzling how you can call that clear and obvious error? Ref saw it uninterrupted and made a decision (why didn’t VAR say ref trossard card harsh he kicked ball less than a second after you blew)
Agree that the potential gripe re. clear and obvious is the point that has the most legitimacy. But ultimately, I can’t complain too much as the correct decision was probably reached! And by no means am I suggesting that these joker referees are consistent!
@@SheroysVoice ultimately in that second Saliba chose the wrong move and gave the referee a decision to make. I agree it was probably a red (even with all the subjective variables). But we still lacked creativity even with 11. We need to rise! Strongest team tonight blitz first half and then “try” what the back line will be Sunday if we are truly comfortable.
Your analysis is respected. However, what is there to gain by criticising the team and manager for loosing the game (win some loose some)? Was it not for the unfortunate back pass of Troussard, we would have finished the match 11 v 11 and possibly won the game. Don't forget the corrupt directive of Howard Webb who meddled with the on-field referee decision. You Arsenal's podcasters must be careful not to let your bitter criticism demoralise the squad. There are good passages of play from the boys; talk about that too. Let's have edifying discussions concerning our team; big deal out of nothing. Peace
You are delusional to suggest Howard Webb had something to do with it😂 Arsenal fans always blaming the refs never taking accountability for their own shortcomings
@@alexpepper8892 You didn't have to call me delusional; unnecessary and juvenile. Perhaps I was wrong to misinterpret Howard Webb's action(s) as meddling; however, we reason dissimilarly. Whilst the team's performance was under par on Saturday, let's not forget how well they've done so far in 2024. One bad game should not sum up 2024 and the rest of the season.
@ayoak4474 You think you're smart, but you're not. There's nothing wrong with them calling 'you' (your perspective in one instance) delusional; it's certainly not juvenile lmao. Suck it up.
I hope none of that came across as bitter - I did emphasise that it all comes from a place of knowing how good we are! But also, one cannot blindly only discuss positives when there are obvious concerns, that wouldn’t be true and unbiased analysis. Looking back at last year for example, losing to lower level opposition was in fact a very big deal!
Not at all; actually, I love your educated and measured analysis better than the incurious, daft rants heard on some popular fans channel. I think many fans have become too reactive with an annoying sense of entitlement. The boys are allowed to have a few bands days in a long and difficult season. I love the team and I wish the team great health and success at all times. Thanks SHEROY👍🏽👍🏽🙏🏽
The club, manager and players deserve criticism. we are NOT close to being able to win any of the 4 major comps. The team is so dependent on one or two players that when they are absent the drop off is huge. You can't tell me Merino is better in the 10 than Emile Smith Rowe or Ethan Nwaneri. I do not see why he was brought in. The transfer window was abject. I am 100% critical. 5 years and 800m spent yet without Saka and Odegaard we look little better than a mid table team. The squad depth is pathetic. and by depth I mean the quality of the back ups. we win NOTHING again
This week’s question for ‘Wrong Answers Only’ 👇🏽
“What is Howard Webb’s guilty pleasure?”
Winner and runner-up will be read out at the end of the next show!
Arsenal is his guilty pleasure. A thousand Howard Webb would arise and fail miserably, but Arsenal will remain standing and GREAT!!
Watching studying referees from around the world and other sports then asking his staff to do the opposite “so they learn for themselves”
Opening the rule book and picking random rule and seeing who can make a mockery of it each week

We needed it man! Hope you’re keeping well my friend 👊🏽
U could do a segment named Sheroy's voice of reazon. Bigup 👊🏾
Appreciate it my bro! 👊🏽
Would you play Saliba in the CL game or would you play the 4 defenders that you are going to play against Liverpool to get some chemistry?
I think the latter if there aren’t any fitness concerns as to that intended four, we’ve seen what happens when we try something new for the first time! It doesn’t always end well for us!
Hindsight is easy. If martinelli nets that golden chance at 0-0, everyone hails arteta's approach- as likely we manage to hold on for the win!
Well, no. There have been a lot of fans who have expressed concerns with our performances even though we won. This was a horrible performance, and a lucky Martinelli goal wouldn't have covered that up.
I agree. The concern is that he doesn’t and it’s a relatively familiar story… but it’s a long season. Only time will tell! 👊🏽
Thank you my guy, will definitely keep it going and introduce some new content shortly 👊🏽
It was an awful day, back-to-front, from start to finish. Let's not draw too many conclusions from Saturday, and hope this result galvanises the team
I really do hope so… my primary concern now is the prospect of Timber, Saka and Odegaard being out alongside the banned Saliba. Let’s see.
Winning and loosing is part of the journey, we gotta continue pushing foward and one day soon we will enjoy the results 💪 come on you gunners
Hope you’re right when you say soon brother! 👊🏽
ChatGPT may well be the winner next week! 🤣
Absolutely my friend. I think we would’ve found a way too after hopefully growing into the game, but we’ll never know now. Onwards!
Hope we win next weekend
So do I my guy, can’t tell you how much I want that one! Hope all is well bro, great to see you back as always 👊🏽
@@SheroysVoice Thanks how u are doing well too my guy 👊 have a good day
My criticism is, unfortunately I think we have not done anything to bolster our squad with people Arteta actually trust.
I couldn’t agree more brother, and as ever, thank you SO much for the generous super thanks! Hope to meet you one day soon 👊🏽
@SheroysVoice love for the Love. What you content creators do, deserve the recognition. I definitely need to plan another trip to London. The flights from Australia are crazy tho

❤️❤️❤️
Was piss poor over all unfortunately, thought we’d moved past this kind of thing
Really? Based on what? We did this last season too.
The back end of last season and certain notable results this season would’ve made me feel the same. Really is inexcusable, and hopefully a one off!
About the Saliba red I think you are a bit not realistic, that same analogy happened to us against Aston villa last season.. not even a yellow was given when Konsa tripped down Saka in an almost identical position
I hear you, and by no means am I suggesting that these referees are consistent. But for me, I can absolutely see why Saliba was sent off.
Did you rewatch the game, Sheroy?
Couldn’t bring myself to. 🤣
@@SheroysVoice I did. It wasn’t that bad. It’s always a clearer picture after you’ve rewatched it, mate.
Btw I think it’s great that you answer to every comment. You are doing great work. Thanks
Fogg.
Indeed. 🤣
Well delivered bruh. Keep it up 👍🏽
Thank you my friend, back again next week for what is hopefully a much happier recording! 👊🏽
Stay humble

Did anyone say you look like Fabregas?
Yes… and Mahrez… Merino… the list goes on my friend 🤣
No minutes from the bench last night either, I do wonder what his role is this season. Surely not just Carabao…
Great video man
Man City have easy run games
I think they going to win league
We finished second
This game was just must win
I think you must think the league is won by Christmas, thank god it’s only the half way point, and yes we can still win this COYG ✊🏾
@@johntaylor7965 we not beating Liverpool
I feel you Luca… maybe it’s just hope from me, but it is a LONG season!
I have couple of points,
Nwaneri omission is puzzling but maybe he isn’t doing something that Arteta wants. Cameos can look good but think of Palmer for England when Saka has run the defenders into the ground all game, when he starts not so convincing.
Shakhtar starting lineup and bench will give us an idea, RE forward line
Definitely a Red but once a yellow given it’s quite puzzling how you can call that clear and obvious error?
We should't be reactionary. However that defeat should serve as a reality check that we have a long way to go if we are to win the title this season.
Couldn’t agree more - but we also shouldn’t have needed that reality check after last season!
Peace
You are delusional to suggest Howard Webb had something to do with it😂
Arsenal fans always blaming the refs never taking accountability for their own shortcomings
@ayoak4474
You think you're smart, but you're not.
The team is so dependent on one or two
players that when they are absent the drop off is huge.
There👏🏻 is👏🏻no👏🏻10👏🏻

They didn’t look that impressive aside from one or two players did they.
Liverpool will beat us
