The way that she sings this… so unconcerned with technique or “singing well” - only fully immersed in the meaning of the song and drawing us into the feelings. Her vocal “imperfections” perfectly conveying her grief… it’s a masterpiece! Thank you for your empathic and insightful reactions
"Finaly I am over" is sung all the time in the song. If you meet the bereaved after years you can get the impression and for them too life has to go on at some point. But that's just how it seems. Internally, they still ask themselves "when will my healing come?". And that they will never quite get over it, Aurora makes clear in the last sentence. She leaves out the "over" and just says "Finaly I am..." "Why did you have to go" is another beautifully sad song that Aurora wrote for a friend who died in a car accident. This woman has experienced some traumatic things in her childhood and has nevertheless or precisely because of it become and remained as she is today. She then sang this song only once and that was at this friend's funeral. The bereaved then wanted Aurora to release this song because it was so beautiful and keeps the memory alive. But she never sang this song again. Aurora - Why did you have to go Fanmade video ruclips.net/video/bXAm6OfMFks/видео.htmlsi=qfVP8aruCHLxpswT Pls react to this too.
If I remember correctly, "Why Did You Have To Go" was released without Aurora's consent? Or was that an earlier song she wrote? I know she later accepted it. But I thought it was recorded at the funeral itself and was the only recording of it ever made. It's a powerful song for sure but I have trouble recommending it to people for reasons.
@@HalkerVeil You remember wrong. It was as I said. You confuse this song with her school performance. There she sang a song that was put online without her consent, which made her known to a label in the first place.
This is amazing and very emotional performance. I love it. Even the setting (on the boat) is fitting. And this expressiveness - in one moment it looks like she take air similar t someone who is crying.
There are no words describing this song, you are really right there. The use of this "near-disharmony" is mindblowing. There an even more personal song by Aurora that I think you are now prepared (primed?) to appreciate. It is "Why did you have to go?" She wrote this song in connection with losing another friend and never published it as a music video. But it is unparalleled in my opinion. The video in the link is very good as background to the song: ruclips.net/video/3n-dMxbIqJA/видео.html
She is absolutely not ready to hear this song from Aurora. Many of the songs she chose triggered a lot of feelings in her that were difficult to control. This song in particular has moved many reaction video makers to emotional reactions. But who am I to judge whether or not... but if so, read the lyrics first and then decide whether you want/can listen to the song😶
@@Holgerdansk You sort of gave me the argument for giving Momma this song. Emotional reactions are (as I see it) not a symptom of something being wrong. Just that we see a human being getting into contact with feelings she really has already... So I really keep the recommendation... ... And MOMMA!! if you think this is wrong pls tell me!
Beautiful, but heartbreaking song. This version in particular always hits me right in the feels. There is a much more upbeat version from Nidarosdomen, that is a lot less sad, but great musically and performance-wise.
I would also recommend " Running to the Sea" by Susanne Sundfor and Royksopp about the same event. She is another wonderful Norwegian singer and was, I believe one of Aurora's musical mentors.
Thank you. I have recently added another Suzanne Sunfor song to my list and I'm pretty familiar with Royksopp being a fan of progressive trance/electronica music. A couple songs they've remixed are on my edm top 10. Also a fan of "Here She Comes Again" and "I Had This Thing". I will definitely add your suggestion to my list.
it's kind of rare in her earlier years to find a happy performance of hers - one that i keep coming back to over and over again because of how much pure life-giving energy it exudes is her performance of "conqueror" live from the tonight show with jimmy fallon. her dancing is SO infectious. i dare you to listen without smiling! (of course not actually, it'd be impossible :p)
Many people have said (jokingly?) that 🧚 Aurora 🧚 isn’t of this world, but is a forest fairy🧐 sent here to heal us. Idk about that, but I DO know her songs heal people ❤️🩹 Lovely reaction, thanks.
I suspect that the song "Why'd You Have to Go?" will be requested eventually, and that song should come with a warning. It's the most devastating song Aurora has ever written, and if you don't know what's coming, it's brutal, especially if you have lost a loved one unexpectedly. I sob every time I hear it, and it probably destroys me more than any song I've ever heard. I haven't seen very many other people get through it without tears either. If this song comes gets requested, please proceed with caution. Make sure you are prepared to hear it. Definitely research the song before listening. I don't think anyone would lead you blindly into that song, because you are clearly an empathetic person, but just in case.
Nice reaction to this beautiful but sad song and performance🥺❤️ I’m pretty sure this wasn’t at Utøya, The Mahogany Session is a London based YT channel😊 I highly recommend checking out the version at Nidarosdomen as well, a totally different version which is my favourite❤️
Hello MommaOG. I have followed Aurora for almost nine years and seen reactions from her for more than 6. This is certainly not said to brag in any way but for the fact that I have been around for a while. There are different ways of reacting. Some are very knowledgeable about music and others vote on the production itself. Others (And most) because they like music in general. Then there are those who are seriously looking for something special, and that applies to us who listen as well, and I can say that you, Momma, are very special. You are on the same level as I am. Sees in this case Aurora as she is and it is so beautiful and recognized. recordings that I have cried to, I see that several others are doing it and it is so exciting for me. Been under the ice for a week now and I've seen your beautiful reactions of Aurora but couldn't bring myself to write anything. Sorry that I might be getting a little too emotional now but you brighten my day with your reactions of Aurora. This song and above all this performance is so terribly beautiful in its sadness. There is no singer today who can convey this like Aurora. Excuse my abysmal English, hope it's still understandable. See you soon
Thank you so much. I appreciate you taking the time (as always) to comment. Is your first name Hakan? I like to use first names but those can be hard to determine from YT handles. lol It's really nice to hear that my reactions are translating to those that view them. The biggest thing I worry about is being completely honest and genuine in my reactions and still be able to interest those who are watching. That seemed like a daunting task when I first started but it's been a relief to hear that people who watch are able to see that I truly am feeling Auroras music to the point that she's made a serious impact on my life, for the better. Thanks for being here.
I'm not sure about the location here, but it is not Utøya. I'm guessing England. It's not a typical Norwegian environment. Utøya is a beatiful Island in a beatiful environment, but not as tranquil as here depicted. It lies in Norway's 5th largest lake, quite a distance from nearest main-land (about 500m), which made it a challenge for many to escape by swimming.
A song she does not sing very much, too personal. You can see and hear the pain there. As to violence, generally the world is less violent. The first world is still getting less violent, the exception being the USA. Else where the remaining problems are drugs and wars.
