This was really great. I done a short section of the Buckeye Trail when I was last in the States 10 years ago. I studied in Akron for a semester in 1995 and generally done most of my sightseeing in Mitch's Lounge then. Lol
oneils woods been there many times, used to live near summit lake and me and hubby walked around it many times, you wouldnt know you were in a pandemic unless you watched the news, and sore feet is a bummer. my brother wants to do the buckeye trail except he has to work and wouldnt be able to get enough time off. he could do it too he is tall, lean andlanky and can walk like a boss.
@@adventuringbuckeye8881 my hubby walks it for the fall hiking spree. my bro and I have been talking alot latly, he bought himself a house (finally) and has two dogs and they seem very sweet if he could he probably would take them and walk the buckeye trail. he hikes almost everyday before work. talk about having energy. work full time and still take time before work to hike with his dogs. I wish I could walk the buckeye trail. camping along the way, not just go to do a section at a time. I have watched alot of videos of the appalacian trail and I was not impressed with the northern section, the flora and fauna seems very limited and it seems like it wants to rain all the time. but this year we have alot of rain and the mosquitos are terrible. we went to firestone park last week and the mosquitos were bad and chased you back home of course it decided to rain too. yuck. ever do any other trail hike thur besides the buckeye? I find ohio is a very beautiful state, if you can get through feburary (the cold seems more intense then decemeber and january) then it is a great place.
@@rosesmith6208 yea I just did a section of the PCT and plan to do the AT next year, the northern section is full of mountains and you have the 100 mile wilderness. In both my hikes in the White mountains we have found a lot of plant life. Start with weekend trips just camping over night, there a lot of places to camp along the buckeye trail, just takes a lot of research to find the good spots on the buckeye
Great video! Thank you for advocating for the Buckeye Trail. My name is Sunny, I am the Akron Section Supervisor. I love seeing my trail on video. I assume your from the Akron area? Please let me know when you do some more BT. Akron@buckeyetrail.org I'm also glad you enjoyed the Cuyahoga Valley National Park...lol
