"The Men All Pause" is a hit single recorded by Klymaxx for the MCA label. Written by Bernadette Cooper and Joyce Irby, this song was recorded and released as the first single off their fourth album, Meeting in the Ladies Room. This song reached number 5 on the Billboard R&B chart, number 80 on the Billboard Hot 100,[1] and number 9 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart.[2] The success of this song helped the group's Meeting in the Ladies Room album reach Platinum status.
1984❤I was 18 and loved this song.
The drummer is Bernadette Cooper. She was the female version of Morris Day from The Time.Check out some of The Time.
Another one of my favorite 80's groups
Klymaxx was the ladies version of The Time.
I really like the woman with the bob hairstyle and that does the spoken word part with a lot of attitude and sassiness.
Klymaxx's music was in the same 80's funk family as Cameo, Rick James, and even Michael Jackson (Bad). Hard beats, strong guitars, edgy.
Bernadette Cooper , MY GIRL! The QUEEN OF FUNK!
This was the first and Meeting In The Ladies Room was like the part 2 to this song. Klymaxx was 🔥🔥
An O G All Girl Band. Great vocals. They were also great musicians. They had such an edge especially for r&b. Yep you can hear the Jam & Lewis in it.
🔥🔥🔥
SNL did a parody of them a few years ago it was pretty on point.
@@blaze2001 I just viewed it very hip and funny if you know the original music video which I had on BETAMAX from the mid 80s. Lol
Somebody slap me, cause I know I’m lookin’ good.
Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis also worked with Klymaxx as well
Klymaxx was a talented band. I believe they had 2 billboard #1
🔥🔥
Love Klymaxx too as with Jody Watley, very underrated !!
This was a big Club Song back in the 80s along with Meeting In The Ladies Room. You should do White Lines by Grand Master Flash if you haven't already, another very cool track the played a lot at the Clubs and is infamous now!
I can def believe it! And check this out:ruclips.net/video/hGRSyeF9Leo/видео.html
@@EmpressReacts I watched your reaction after clicking your link and it was fun! You are great because you react to a lot of stuff other reactors have not even heard or and are missing entirely. Have a great week!
@@ENDTIMEsVideoLibrary thank you
Hell yeah I bumped this in the 80’s and still do today!
Thanks for doing them, they were an amazing band with good songs..
Yeah KLYMAXX was one of the best. Me and my buddy (both musicians) had 3 of the albums. Too bad they ended up on UNSUNG and their record label did them wrong.
I believe they are the only to this day,the only all female african-american band who played their own instruments.
Oh wow
Just saw thm n NY. They r STILL CRAZY AF😅 Im sending ths to Bernadette 💜
oh wow! hope she enjoys!
Klymaxx was my song back in the day. My girlfriends and I had the same attitude as Klymaxx. I would play while getting ready to go to the club. 😂
The feminist movement was started a long time ago but most people don’t realize that Klymaxx had a heavy hand in starting the girl power movement way back in 1981. Their first album is titled “never underestimate the power of a woman.” The single of the same name was as innovative and cool as you would expect from this group.
Almost 2 decades later the Spice Girls popularized “girl power” by borrowing directly from Klymaxx.
You would hear some people who lived during the 80s say Klymaxx was huge while others say otherwise. The reason for this is that like most music in pre-social media times, music was kind of segregated. RnB music was pushed hard in what was considered RnB markets. They had country and rock markets. The mainstream was for anything with crossover appeal. The fact that Klymaxx wasn’t a bigger crossover success was a result of poor marketing by their label. That eventually played a role in their breakup.
Their song “Sexy” has a similar vibe to this one. Even their love songs were on another level. Check out “I miss you” and my personal favorite “I’d still say yes.”
They weren’t feminists they were womanist. Feminist hate men. The Spice Girls was just autotune fluff.
Wowva Shame that they weren't huge😔
😲
Feminism had nothing to do with it. There were masters at their craft, showed up and did their thing. Everything a woman does out of the box isn't feminism.
Now your talking. SOME OF THE GREATEST SOLAR records dance tracks. The whole album is full of hits. FASHION is another killer. I knew you'd like this one because of the dialogue snippets are friggin great
🔥🔥
It’s such a joy to see you react to them. You are reacting just as we did. We were OBSESSED with the lead girl. She is the epitome of 80’s fierceness….Check out their 1986 album that’s self titled. SOOOOO GOOD!
✅
KLYMAXX the album is part 2 of this phase of the band before Bernadette left to pursue solo project. FAB ATTACK , SEXY DIVAS NEED LOVE TOO etc.
One of my jams back in the 80s, these girls werre fire. Sexy ladies.

This was my group! Love this song!
This song makes me laugh haha! Somebody slap me!
😂😂
They were the that girl band of the 80s with all the swagger with Bernadette at lead. They broke up and had a couple of hits esp I miss you and the vibe was different
My sister and a couple of her girls did Meeting in the Ladies Room in HS . you couldn't tell her nothing
Hold up, when they went to The Ladies Room, she said "don't slap me, cause I'm not in the mood", now she wants a slap? mixed messages! lmao
😂😂right
Song SLAPS!!!
Great reaction 👍
I knew you'd love this E.!!! Saw the for the first time and was knocked out. Bernadette Cooper has been involved with quite a few other projects. Slammin' beat!!!
