I wish I had this video when I was searching for my laptop a few years ago! All of this information makes me want to upgrade to the Zbook Studio G8 😅🤖 Thanks for the info Chris!
Nice video. You forgot the asus rog strix . I think is the best option for architects since i have one with ryzen 9 and rtx 3070 and it’s the best bang for the buck in my country (romania). Cheers!
One of best Deals now. In lumion this 3070 is faster than 12thgen powered 3060, also more Vram. I have the same configuration. Its still got 43% more streaming processors than desktop 3060.
From my experience of watching over a dozen architectural laptop videos : no one knows modeling, rendering requirements.no comparison between specs in graphs of cpu and gpu., price to performance graphs between graphcs cards, nobody knows how gpus are the most important part. gpu rendering, cpu rendering, importance of single clock speed, vram. Many people miss if you are a render expert, who likes to render stills, walkthroughs, in lumion,a previous year laptop with i7 11800h with 3070 will be cheaper or equal in price than newer intel 12th gen i7 12700h 3060 and 3050ti ,33% faster than 3060 but performs 100-150% faster than 3050ti. workstation gpus are not needed for most of us. you are paying twice or thrice more for the same performance. I can talk almost half hour on whats the best for each of you. Also Ryzen cpu gives twice battery than intel.
I'm sorry, it sounds like during your search you became frustrated with the various unhelpful lists you were seeing. May I ask you what your top 3 laptops would be for architecture students? 2023 is around the corner and your input could help a lot of arch students for next year! 🙂
@@altArchitecture Lenovo , hp, laptops are long lasting even their entry level models. but msi and acer has bad internals in entry level model like f65,gl, acer nitro, but their higher models are good GP,GE, both are bulky, but can have higher wattage gpu. GS,stealth series are slim, professional looking laptop. MSI creator 15 pr0, z pro is best but they are mad expensive. There is no need for buying workstation laptop for thrice the money. Nowadays workstation and gaming laptop share same chip architecture also gaming laptop support studio driver as WL. lenovo legion is the most reliable series also hp omen, asus higher tier strix, but TUF DASH is a cheap slimmer version. zenbook pro duo are good. dell laptops are toasty and noisy i dont recommend.razor is a macbook of windows laptops due slim form factor and silent nature, but not worth the money, also not long lasting.
Please , what laptop do you recommmend for 1300€ ? I am an architecture student just finoshed the first year, and I do not know if i should buy something that costs more ... Please any suggestions? I want something good and to habdle big programms and to crash .
@@altArchitecture This reply came a bit late, but yeah, I saw your video and in that video was asus rog strix g15. Thats the exact laptop I bought in november 2022. And its amazing with an rtx3060 and 16gb ram.
I wouldn’t recommend either of those unless you went with a surface pro 8 with an i7 and 16gb of memory. Even then it wouldn’t compare to the laptops I have listed in this video!
WHICH IS BETTER? Asus Rog flow x13. Specs: Ryzen 7 6800h, AMD integrated graphics RDNA2 680m, 16gb ram, 512G SSD, 120hz Asus Vivobook pro 14x oled. Ryzen 9 5900hx, Nvidia Geforce RTX 3050, 16gb ram, 512G SSD, 90hz I'm soon to be an ENGINEERING student and I want to know which of these laptops is BEST for me since both of them are almost at the SAME PRICE. What makes me hesitated to buy is that I could get ASUS ROG flow x13 Ryzen 7 for the same price as the other BUT the downside is that it only has an integrated gpu but they say rdna2 igpus are not bad anymore and also ROG Flow x13 alone is built for gaming. Now on the other hand Vivobook pro 14x oled has Ryzen 9 and Nvidia RTX 3050 dedicated gpu already, now that is amazing but, Vivobook is not built for heavy gaming or rendering im not sure if it will still run smoothly even tho it has R9 and rtx3050 and im worried if the Thermals of this laptop can handle what R9 and RTX 3050 needs and lastly, flow x13 has 120hz and vivobook 14x has 90hz only. I really appreciate if someone could answer this.
Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry you feel like this is the worst list. I agree there is a huge difference between 1650 and 3060. The Dell XPS is not the best option but it does tick a lot of boxes for architecture students, and it is a medium-power laptop. I did look into your complaint and I can understand there may be better fitting options. What would you suggest the two laptops for the medium tier be? 2023 is around the corner and your input could help a lot of arch students for next year! 🙂

HUGE fan haha! Thanks for the subscription and the thoughtful note! 👍👍
The 2022 Asus G14 is a good choice as well ! Very affordable with great specs, AMD cpu and AMD gpu
Yesss thank you!
Wow that is awesome explanation.

Thank you for the suggestion! Yes, it has a very good price point and I would definitely recommend it. 100 points for romania! 👍👍
I have an aero 15 with rtx 3070 and a 11800h CPU...not an absolute beast but gets my job done!
Looking good!

Hey, what is your opinion on the new macbook pro's with m1 pro chip? They seem very powerful.
I wouldn’t personally recommend a MacBook for architecture school! If you decide to get one though the New MacBook Pro’s are going to work perfect!
Tnx for the video
Anytime! Thank you very much for the comment and for taking the time to watch the video. I hope you found it helpful!

Get a laptop with dedicated graphics,at least 6GB 3060, all new render engines struggles with 4gb Vram.
Yes I agree but this would be the very least! Check out the laptops in the video or description for best options
worst list, including underpowered 1650 xps in medium powered list.the speed difference between 3060 and 1650 are day and night.
