Kerri Lonadier Not sure of the color, just some stain I had left over from other projects, you can use any color you like. This was just a dark stain, maybe mahogany :)

It is nailed together. Two pieces of wood are braced across the back :)

Yes there are two on the back one near the top and one near the bottom. The one on front is just added support and the hat rim :)

Just a tip.. don't put the slanted hat part on before u paint to make it neater
