Brad, you have the most easy to follow and professional videos on RUclips for REW PERIOD! I could see you making an entire REW course with the knowledge that you have. Keep up the great work:
Cannot wait to see the updated miniDSP tutorial!!
Give the people what they want…neigh, what they NEED.
Brad Merry Christmas, this video IS EXACTLY what I needed!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to do this in such an easy way to comprehend. Can't wait for the full manual calibration video!
Ur one of the ppl I look up too in the audio world. Much respect.
Yeap. Just let us know when that full tutorial is coming. I need it from A to Z. Love your channel.
Glad to hear you're doing the full manual calibration! About to have my 7.2.4 living room finished and I'm pumped to calibrate it all!
I'm using the new beta, latest version and I love it particularly the Time Alignment Tool. This features has made my life so much easier when doing my sub time alignment and sub + main time alignment. Looking forward to your new miniDSP video tutorials. Love your channel. Keep up the good work.
I love your videos. Always clear and easy to follow. Keep up the good work. Thanks
Can't wait for the full manual calibration video 💪👍 always fun to tinker with the config and listen to the differences.
Thanks for the video Brad. That impulse response thing looks cool. Definitely going to try it out.
Great video Brad, you've taught me some invaluable things today. Thank you very much.
Brad, Thank you for this video! I'm glad I watched it before using the SACT because now aligning the impulse of the speakers to the reference speaker will be easier than the one that the Obsessive Compulsive Audiophile had on a video a while a go. I do have Dirac Live with Bass Controll but it's nice to double check the speaker levels and distances.
Hi, I have been using rew for a few months now, but never tried those features as I didn't know what I was doing, but I will have a go now that I've seen how to use them, also, it's nice that you're now using a Mac for your calibration, and can't wait for your next full rew calibrations, well done, please keep up the good work
Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is incredibly useful information!
This is terrific info, thanks. I recently did some measurements to assess crossover for each channel. This impulse alignment feature would have served me better as I did straight averages on the side and rear surround pairs to reference against sub.
I can’t wait for your new series!
cant wait ....love your tutorials....😎
Today I learned what capability REW has. Thanks a lot.
I'm pumped for your manual calibration tutorial! I went through all your previous miniDSP videos earlier this year to get my subs dialed in, but these new features and your new future walkthrough will for sure make things much more straightforward.
Thanks Brad! - Awesome update on the 7.3 beta.
I have yet to get into it with my 7.4.2 Atmos setup -particularly interested in the MiniDSP (which I have) for the four subs.
Looking forward to your full tutorial using the latest release. - Cheers!
cant wait to see the manual calibration video
Thanks so much for going though this!!
Do we need to first setup the timing reference piece before getting started with this or is this already set up in REW?
Give it too meeeeeee. I need that updated series!
I just upgraded to 5.30. I will check it out.
Hey Brad if we are doing the cross correlation/vector average first, do we use our vector average and aligned sum in the alignment tool? Or do we use the vector average and one of our subs in the alignment tool?
Props to OCA for opening our eyes to all this knowledge!
Thanks Brad, REALLY looking forward to the updated MiniDSP tutorial!
Hey Brad! Thank for the video! Any timeline on the new miniDSP/REW tutorial?
Thank you! I ran into a snag with the software I’m using to record everything (camera 1 and 2, screen recording, etc) so I’m sorting that out now but hope to have it out in the next couple of weeks. Trying to squeeze it in before the start of the new year.
@@HomeTheaterGamersounds great! Thanks for your reply! Really looking forward to it! Hope you are well!
Glad you made this. People are always asking about REW tutorials.
Brad, great timing for you to post this video. I've borrowed enough gear for 7.2.4 HT system. I'm using Technodad's SACT disc and I think I'm close by ear but but but I sure hope using REW can help me get this Frankenstein rig aligned and EQ'd. I wish I could afford to hire you to come help me.
Thanks again for all of your videos and advice contained in them.
All the best, Kevin
When are you gonna do the updated minidsp tutorial with this new REW..? Or are you gonna do it..?
Brad, thank you for your videos! I have a question though, I am just getting my home theater setup and I just got a minidsp too. What should be the order of adjustments. Speaker level matching, odyssey setup, minidsp setup, etc?
Trying to get an idea of what videos to watch first and follow along with as I tune up my system.
Do you still find yourself using the 10db harman curve for movies?
Hope all is well with you! How is the tutorial video coming along Brad?!
Thank you! I've been doing a ton of work over the past month or so streamlining my workflow for shooting tutorials. Long story short: the software and workflow I had before made shooting tutorials a real pain trying to manage all the different sources, and then getting into editing meant a lot of time was spent syncing everything up. Now that's much, much easier and it should result in a quicker turnaround.
Sorry it has taken so long for the videos to get done, but I wanted to get a system together that would make shooting tutorials in general much easier so I can get more out. Thanks for sticking around!
@@HomeTheaterGamer of course Brad! Thank you! I’m glad all is well with you
Do you have a step by step tutorial on how to set up REW for home theater? I could really use some help. I downloaded REW, I just got my Umik-1. I have the Denon 3800h. I just don’t know what I’m doing, and could use some help!
Great job thanks!!!
Great new features that could be quite powerful. More straight forward than the time necessary to learn MSO. Very intriguing indeed.
It's not too hard to learn how MSO works and it will give you almost perfect results in combination with a MiniDSP 2x4 HD...
@@DrSchnaggelz Not hard at all. In fact, a comprehensive tutorial is provided along with companion videos.
Wait, this is the first time I've seen this used. I don't know if this will help with a sub frequency being louder on one side but I'll have to look into it
What settings did you use for your FDW on your mains? Do you always use FDW for that?
Okay ....so the bass measurements are fed through the mini DSP. How do you feed the time alignments for the rest of your system that you described in the first part of the video ? I'm new so that answer isn't obvious.
My question as well!
@@eierchopf1 did you get it please?
It’s still to complicated 😅
Do a workshop at MWAVE before & after!
After using Dirac Live ... don't think I'll need REW often. Just to measure some stuff as a hobby :)
Obsessive Compulsive Audiophile...;)
I followed the Supreme Audyssey video. It was fantastic learning but now I've just upgraded to the Denon 3800h so I'm now using Dirac.
@@UpgradingAsUsualsame AVR and just started using Dirac last week. An improvement so far. Still learning.
Awesome! Love the content! Can't wait for the full tutorial 👍
