Pepper or spearmint was a tough choice for me, however Jane's answer of after dinner mint wasn't bad. I gotta admit Richard does a great WC Fields impression
The judges can't make up their minds on whether or not general and specific match each other. In the last two episodes they matched general with specific, now they're back to not doing it with knife/pizza cutter. A pizza cutter is most definitely a knife.
contestant jane looking pretty in her close ups, a softer look up close. ann elder at least twice now saying she's looking for her prince, she apparently never married.
Is there less oxygen on the upper tier? No Gene, it's because Brett was constantly running her mouth so the others couldn't think, and Brett didn't focus on writing an answer until you got after her.
Gene had a lot of patience with Brett. Can't believe she was only 49 or 50 on this show. So she started out being obnoxious and annoying even on the earlier shows. She must have been drinking back then too, maybe that's what aged her so much
@@sailorbychoice1 Those are my two favorites also. Hollywood Squares is my favorite, but Match Game is a wonderful #2. The remakes are sad; they should make us question why we accept certain kinds of people as celebrities, how easily we bestow that status.
It's interesting that when Gene Parts he's hair at the left side of his head he looks like a conservative but when he Parts his hair on the right side of his head he looks like a liberal
Truck Taxi that’s funny. Hey here’s a thought: if he hadn’t passed, we could have voted for him for president. With hair parting like that, we KNOW he’d unite the country by working across the aisles. 😊😊😊🤪🤪🤪
They just thought they were so funny and cute. So far from the truth. They were grating on your nerves. But then again, I rolled my eyes to a permanent state every time Richard Dawson would yell present whenever Gene would call his name.
@@amysmith2265 I agree, he uses his joke too many times and they get old fast. Seem like he only a few jokes that kept using over and over again.. Not to mention the reusing the same card messages over and over again.
@@sdlively27 This is straight outta Wikipedia, but I'm too lazy to summarize what people who fail to appreciate CNR (of whom I am quite fond on this show) need to know about some of his non-TV endeavors: Reilly made his film debut with an uncredited role in A Face in the Crowd (1957), directed by Elia Kazan, although most of his early career was spent on the stage. He was a regular and popular performer in comic roles for several summer seasons in the 1950s at the Starlight Theatre in Kansas City, Missouri. Reilly appeared in many Off Broadway productions. His big break came in 1960 with the enormously successful original Broadway production of Bye Bye Birdie. In the groundbreaking musical, Reilly had a small onstage part and was the standby for Dick Van Dyke in the leading role of Albert Peterson. In 1961, Reilly was in the original cast of another big Broadway hit, the Pulitzer prize-winning musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. For his memorable origination of the role of Bud Frump, Reilly earned a 1962 Tony Award for featured actor in a musical. In 1964, Reilly was featured in the original cast of Hello, Dolly!, another enormous success on Broadway. I think they really were friends, but as a Tony-nominated director he would probably have wanted more orderly chaos on MG. And some of Brett's disruptive behavior is an embarrassment.
They should have screened these contestants a WHOLE lot better. Jane and Vicki are both pretty poor players. Thankfully, someone HAS to win eventually.
I really like Bert Convey. He seems like a decent person. Someone you could have a beer with. 🍺
Fannie Flagg was incredible.
It's weird seeing her sit in the #4 seat, isn't it?
It was Richard’s Show all the way !
She's the BEST!!!!!
Bert Convey smokin' hot.
I'm missing Charles!
I wish Ann Elder would stand up to let us see that whole outfit cause she is a WOW
That wig is weighting her down. She CAIN'T stand up!
For real

I hate to throw this up...😂😂😂
Why would anyone choose Bert or Brett for the big money is beyond me...Richard gave more correct answers consistently.
Bert gave a very good answer. "After Dinner" from the contestant is what was rotten.
Hey, Johnny Mathis showed up!
Fannie Flagg - the gay hero you didn’t know you always had.
Right On!!!!
Ugh
Richard wore that polka dot shirt in the episode just before this.
Are you being a tattle tale?
These were taped in one day but some brought a change of clothes
Someone should've told Jane that her hairstyle makes her look like a man. It looks like she has sideburns.

It's downright infuriating in fact
I've always liked this show, but Brett drives me up the wall!
100% Agree!!!
Jack Carter caught onto Brett's shenanigans already
Ann Elder: The most beautiful woman of the decade!
Agreed and especially in that dress!
Initially, I thought Ann Elder was wearing a swimsuit . She certainly has the body for one - YES
One fine 70s blonde.

I think her very dark hair and eyes make her hairstyle far more noticeable than if she were a blonde.
Wow, that maxi skirt !!
Midis and maxis came back in 1970 but didn’t catch on for daytime since most women looked bettter in short hemlines..

I for one really don't care for Brett. She is always running her mouth. She wants to be the center of attention.
Brett’s laugh makes me happy.
I just think she's like me, sometimes I have to read something over again till it sinks in, because we wander, inadvertently.

She was definitely drinking throughout the series. When she's not she's tolerable.
We’ve got to be getting close to the end of the year
Nick Johnson We are getting close to the end of 1973. Moving into 1974 sometime in February.

Definitly Dave Foley's mom.
well Brett keeps bringing it up.. so ..... Here she is 49 yrs old

She had a facelift in 74 or 75. Liked her hair long in classic flip as it is here.

Jane looking attractive in this episode. Much better outfit.
Everyone saying she looks like a man, I honestly thought so at first too. But you're right on this one. Long hair would have been such an improvement.
