Wow! So timely! A dear friend made a hand stitched queen sized quilt with 2.5” hexis, and I’ve been afraid to say yes to quilting it for her. I’m going to share this video with her and see if she’s ok with adding the borders. Thank you! Happy thanksgiving!
I enjoyed that, ladies! I’m about to embark on an EPP project, myself, and I hate the look when ppl chop off the edge of hexies! All that work, and I believe the scolloped edge is part of the fun and character of the project! This was a fun and inspiring idea for how to easily save those scollops. TFS! 🌷
Kristina the quilt top from the garage sale may have been washed and the piecing is questionable. Lots of repair and heavy pressing first before quilting. This faux border idea will be a big help.
It can be a bit wrinkly but a trip through the wash takes care of most of the issues. This quilt is going to be gifted so I like to wash before giving so it's ready to be used and loved ❤

This technique would really work well with postage stamp quilts . I make them with interfacing. Very helpful. Thank you !
