I've always wanted it since it came out. But it's not exactly cheap so I'll be getting it early next year when my finances are in a little better shape. Hope it'll still be available by then. It's nice of you to remind us of it every now and then
There are many good photographers to follow on RUclips but your kind of humor and how you interact as a couple or with friends is what makes me always come back.
I guessed right! Hi Brent! Unfortunate about the huge vistas, but the lonely tree dropping its leaves into the river is a lovely consolation prize! Happy anniversary!
I've been really enjoying your book since I got it a few months ago. It's not a cheesy book that tries to tell you to "do these things to be a better landscape photographer", but rather helps understand the scene and the fact, that you generally seemed to really enjoy yourself while photographing the various locations that are in the book. Congratulations on your anniversary!!
Well dang! Happy Anniversary you two! Looking forward to that flashback one of these days. I'm glad Adam was present and nabbed a nice shot for ya! I'm also glad the 1 shot you didn't plan for was the most stunning. It kinda baits us into keep...chasing awe. 🤭👍 Amanda must have read your book 📖, she's finding shots you'll like now. 😀
Thanks for the laughs. Amanda saved the day. That last shot is gorgeous. I live in the mid Atlantic area of the US. For the higher elevations it's best to think about Fall color around the end of September through the second week of October. Storms don't help but yeah, the higher elevations will peak out and the trees will lose their leaves a lot sooner than lower elevations.
Cape Clear is an awesome spot, off to your right, kinda hidden away, there is a waterfall you can hike to. There is a hiking trail below that follows along the river, its nice to shoot where you were but really nice to be down in the valley shooting up! If you look down the river there is a flat spot on the far right, there is a couple there that live off grid, they will let you cross their land to get the trail, there is a nice old abandoned house there and a lake! there is a fishing lodge down below and way off the left in big interval its a great spot to spend a night especially in the winter, that whole area is insanely beautiful!!
Ahh, the honeymoon is not over for the both of you. Don’t feel bad about the foliage, I just had the same experience at Caddo lake, Texas. Storms, the great destroyer of a wonderful fall season experience. 🍂
Cape Clear was new to me, I have been there for the first time this year after beeing the 13th time in Nova Scotia. As you said I would not call them mountains too. I would rather say: "There are no mountains, just valleys"
I've missed Brent!! Love it when you two go on a photography adventure. We need more of this. Can't wait to see the Gavin and Amanda wedding story!! Yorkshire humour is the best 📷❤️🤣
Happy anniversary folks ! Great to see Brent again !! What a beautiful shot at the end well spotted Amanda !! it would of made a beautiful dreamy timelapse just sitting and watching the leaves drift unto the the river and meander there way to where ever !!
The final stream shot was beautiful and worth the wait. Supreme mastery over colours as always, Gavin. The Nova Scotia tourism board should definitely, “get in touch.”
Dear Gavin and Amanda, Good storytelling is an art on its own. I love your beautyful drone intro's, I love your natural looking way to get us into your story. Must be said, those video drone intro's of your friend (I hope) Adam Gibbs and his Fuji camera photographs are also (I said also) of an overwhelming beauty. Not always, not every day is a Golden day. Ain't always snap and you get what you want. It's nice you create those lovely dreams for us youtube watchers. Amanda and Gavin, I love that twinkling in your eyes when you look at each other. As Amanda often says I like it. I think you're really are the best thing in life, the best thing in the world for each other (alright, maybe it's the cat... Joking). A feeling maybe warmer than those golden yellow and red Autumn leaves and Gavin, maybe it's not that million but 3400 likes in one day ain't bad. You lovers, keep that twinkle in your eyes and Gavin hope some day you find your nightly rest. Have a good sleep, life between lovers ain't that bad, just a warm nest and Amanda dreaming of lovely birds and that funny grumpy flapping thing with your face Gavin.
This is what photography is all about. All of my senses are in use in that “quintessential” autumn shot. My cheeks feel the chilly breeze. That autumn smell of the drying leaves. The whisper of a breeze through the trees. And the serenity of watching fallen leaves drift down a slowly moving stream. Such a wonderful scene. Amanda found a wonderful scene
A+ and a gold star to Amanda for her choice of reading material. Robin Hobb has been a favorite author since I read her Liveship Trilogy decades ago when they were first printed. Gavin, if I weren't living on a Social Security check I would buy your book but books are now too expensive for my budget, so is food.
Yorkshire Moo-ers. Are they a type of cow? Love the fact you found such a great shot at the end in a mundane location. One of my fav shots of Adam's, was a small river down an embankment next to the road.
Happy anniversaire, Amanda and What'syername, and many more to come! I suppose it was too much to hope you'd actually escaped the Lesser Crested Panobrentosaurus?
A beautiful last shot you got there. I like the composition also because you included the roots of the tree this way. Somehow that balances the composition for me.
omg. not only do I learn a lot from you Gavin, but I could be having the crappiest day, and all I got to do is tune in to your channel and I'm laughing my butt off 😂 Happy Anniversary Gavin and Amanda 💍🥂💕
It was great to see Brent :) and also great to see Amanda's wedding dress too 👰 👗 happy 1st year anniversary 🎉 you may celebrate 🍾 many many happy anniversaries ...you look so good together. Wishing you both all the happiness 😊 ❤ in the world.. with love from England 🇬🇧 Manchester xx
My favourite part of photography are those surprise's and what they produce. Love that scene at the end of your video. Would there be any chance you could take a photograph with your drone and give us some tips right from the start to the completed edit to give us mere mortals a chance of getting it half right? Keep up the great work Gavin. Congratulations to both of you on your anniversary.
Last image is really nice. Great find and saved the day. I would have actually composed it just slightly more to the left and let the blue/white sky and distant trees fill maybe the left fifth of the frame. Just a thought in case you are back near that location before the last leaves have fallen from the trees. Happy Anniversary.
Cracking shot Gavin. The best laid plans are no substitute for what is round the corner. Well here in Sheffield sometimes my wife and I head for the chippy, we just fancy fish and chips and a breadcake. We end up coming home with a KFC - but it was lovely, just what the doctor ordered, he gave it the thumbs up. So what's that got to do with landscape photography. Probably nothing, but that evening will always be a happy memory. Anyway, I've often found that the photograph you didn't expect was the KFC of the day. You can't plan for spontaneity, I've tried and it doesn't work. But, when it happens what a great feeling. The image you never planned for is the one. Paul, Sheffield, South Yorkshire
After watching this everybody wants to see the book, not the chasing-awe-photography-book but the wedding album book silly! We know uncle grumpy took the pictures so it should be a good spread of pictures and a good read!
Whenever I see you and Brent together, it's always "Pick It Up" "Pick it Up English Man" It pop's into my head now and then and it really makes me laugh, and the outtakes I'm surprised you two ever get shots done. And Happy Anniversary.
Loved the segment with Amanda. She is so sweet. BTW, I quit chasing the cliche peak of the color glorious panoramas many years ago. I've had better luck finding small spots of interesting color after most of the leaves have fallen. Even individual trees like the one you found, or sometimes even small bushes. Sometimes patches of weeds when the light is right and before all the color fades out of the stems.

Except for the haunting, miserable, nightmare-inducing riddle on page 107, the book is definitely a grade better than kindling.
@@StephenDesRoches I believe you solved it though...
@@fototripper Maybe? The last email from you told me to keep trying.
@@StephenDesRoches oh, then yes, your path has still yet to be traversed.

So good to see Brent again. I miss the Videos with your old friends! Brent, Uncle Grumpy an so on..
You're all the (comedy) gold we need Gavin, never mind missing the fall...
Happy anniversary. Oh Amanda, Robin Hobb, good choice! That last shot was really nice…next year hopefully no hurricanes.
I guessed right! Hi Brent! Unfortunate about the huge vistas, but the lonely tree dropping its leaves into the river is a lovely consolation prize! Happy anniversary!
Good to see Brent again :)
Your wife has found an excellent eye for scenery. Perfect last shot!! Ps. Pizzagasm on top of the Mountain, hilarious 😆

Congrats on your one-year anniversary! I love your videos...even when there's really nothing to photograph!

That river shot is simply gorgeous!!
Happy anniversary guys. Gavin you are one lucky man. Amanda, sorry not all our exports snore so bad. 💗
It's the cat...
Glad you finally found that place. I've been taking my Fall photo tour there for decades. It is beautiful!
And... HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!
i am glad you included the wedding pic - that was cool to see
Happy Anniversary to you and Amanda. Great shot and next year be early for the fall! All the best to you and Amanda!

Wow, that shot is magical! Glad Amanda saw that spot! And happy anniversary!
That last picture just goes to show that sometimes the best pictures you take are those that are not planned and not expected.
Happy Anniversary. Congratulations to you two. Loving your book.
Thanks Arun :)
Once again you have nailed it! And with a smile too. Happy Anniversary to you both. George.

The just by the highway shot is absolute gorgeousness. Quintessentially autumn. Love it!
Happy Anniversary to both of you, loved the river scene with the autumn leaves.
Beautiful tree scene!!!
Love that last shot! :)
Shame you missed the glorious peak autumn moment, but great to see Brent again. A Gavin, Brent and Simon shenanigans video sounds like comedy gold🥸
Happy anniversary!!
So, the fall visit wasn't a total loss. Plus, now you know how short the autumn color season is on Cape Breton and you can plan accordingly next year
It wasn't that short John. Fiona just wiped out the goodies in some of the best places :(
Happy anniversary guys!! And what a great episode too 🎉🎉🎉
That last shot is gorgeous
Happy Anniversary you two!!!
Happy anniversary!
Absolutely fantastequa, and so good to see Brent again (my guess was incorrect on the last video, I thought it was going to be Adam)

Congrats on the one year anniversary.
Never seen 'fall' colours , here in S.E Queensland the trees stay green year round. The silver lining is that we don't get snow either.
Happy anniversary to you both ! And isnt autumn a wonderful time of year ! well when you catch it !! lol
Lovely shot at the end!
Thanks, Gavin & Amanda! The humor in your videos always lifts my spirits. The unexpected photo opportunity at the end turned into a great image.

Was on the north York moors this weekend, bloody lovely up there!!
Congratulations on your anniversary 🎊 🎉
What a lovely photo of you two. Happy anniversary to the best suited couple on RUclips!
Yes. The tree, water, and the roots along the bank... the perfect "here's the shot". Good stuff.

I like how Brent uses real measurements like kilometers. Best part! 😂
Happy Anniversary!
Great book Amanda very enjoyable series!
Enjoyed seeing Amanda reading Robin Hobb. I just finished Fool's Errand. Oh, and Gavin, the last shot was excellent.
Simply gorgeous shot you eventually produced. Beauty.
Another great video great scenery funny to congratulations to you both
Just ordered your book! This will help make me buff, fight cancer, fight crime, and bring me huge financial success. Right, Gavin?

Buckstones
