This is the best tutorial I have encountered. Cudos! Being an old timer coming from film photography, I was totally alienated with all the processing tools. In fact, I just shoot in jpg and save the results. This tutorial has helped me a lot to understand the use and benefit of processing the photos after the shooting.
I love the linguistic refinements you apply to describe technical terms such as when oversaturating in the colour booster tool it becomes "freaking La La Land" . Your enthusiasm is infectious !
I never usually comment on videos like this but I just had to tell you how helpful this video was. Not only going through all the functions and tools of the software but really demonstrating on how the tools can be used. Also your constant admonition to be "subtle" with your changes is the best advice to those new to photo editing. Again very well done and you have earned yourself a new subscriber but I have to now because I want to fire up my NX Studio and start playing.

Your review is spot on. The other reviewers just gloss over NX Studio and point out the negatives. They also stumble over the tools meaning they never really learned to use this software. Most of all they totally overlooked the value of Picture Controls feature. Hi Grant, Thank you for your suggestion and kind compliment. It is a very good question and I am genuinely surprised that I didn't think of it. I actually have a habit of working on individual images. And normally I only edit 3-5 pictures at a time. My suggestion, when you want to apply same WB values in all the photos for example. Save the value in WB section inside the scroll down menu. Then select the other photos and then select the WB from the preset menu. This should help you. Let me know please it that works. Good luck. 😊
Thanks for the video. LR aside, i still use Capture NX2 for nostalgic sake. And becoz i paid for it 🙂 ... and i think Nikon is stingy : giving NX Tether free but limited to a small range of newer bodies. Loyalty seems like a dirty word to them.
I wish I could use this Nikon Studio software. I like everything about it, especially now that I have the Nikon Z9. Unfortunately the software is champ in crashing all the time on my Mac OS Monterey. I can’t accomplish anything using it. I am forced to pay and use Capture one 23 Pro which is the only one capable of reading Z9’s NEF files. Can’t seem to understand why Nikon Studio crashes all the time…
Love the program, nice job Nikon! Needs fine-tuning. 1. The "Other Apps" command doesn't work. If I tell it to open in Photoshop, it ignores the work I did in Studio and goes to Adobe's RAW renderer. 2. Rating the photos (stars and colors) creates a new, smaller, jpeg and puts the original somewhere else. I don't want to re-jpeg my photo just to add a star or color. Same for IPTC caption editing. 3. Actually, I don't have a #3 at this time. A great option for long-time Nikon Capture users like myself. (just please fix that Other Apps command)
Great input. Thanks. I have heard of these issues. For No 2. I do not personally have a solution. But for No 1. I use Affinity Photo and I usually export 16 Bit TIFF without sharpening. 😊
I love your tutorial. Watched it 3 or 4 times. But I'm having a problem. I shoot Nikon and save a subset of photos taken in jpeg format into a sub folder of the main one. I edit the photos in this subset folder; primarily cropping and levels and tone curves. When I open the folder in Microsoft file manager it appears none of my edits were saved. I read somewhere that edits are saved in a 'sidecar' and this is what the '.nkse' folder is. What do I need to do to edit my photos, save them in jpeg so that I can upload them to my website and Instagram?

top video. Thank you
i will never push the slide to 100%.
thank you for the tutorial!
Thank you for this. Does NX studio have batch processing options like lightroom ? If so can you do another video :)
Good luck. 😊
Can you focus stack with this software?
Canon DPP has for canon camera. Unfortunately, Nikon don't have it. Affinity Photo has this option'
@@Light_Camera_Story Thanks!
What is the resolution limit in NX Studio?
Is there spot correction?
Yup. One of the tab on top is specifically for spot correction 😊
Hello! Could you please tell me which program do you used to record the screen? Thank you.
I use the Free OBS sometimes. And I baught one from Microsoft store for 4€.
I forgot the name. Look at Microsoft store.
Have a wonderful day.
where would you go to select send to photoshop or light room classic. my copy defaults to LR and some other Apps. Is there a choose app area?
Thanks for the video. LR aside, i still use Capture NX2 for nostalgic sake. And becoz i paid for it 🙂 ... and i think Nikon is stingy : giving NX Tether free but limited to a small range of newer bodies. Loyalty seems like a dirty word to them.
Thanks
