My brother took the stand in Josh’s case. While he was waiting to testify, he chatted for hours with a man who worked for Josh Duggar and who was also waiting to testify. This was an older man who had served time in prison. My brother found him to be likable, and he was concerned that if the man took the stand, the defense would blame him for the crime. Thank God, the man did not have to go through the ordeal of being falsely accused of this odious crime. The fact that Josh was willing to accuse innocent men, men he employed and knew well, broken men who had already encountered the prison system, and put them through this ordeal, speaks volumes to me.
Yes, that goes to show how malicious, vicious & cunning he is. He's got such a high sense of self entitlement he's willing to destroy someone's life, someone he was meant to be friends with, to save himself from his own consequences. The victims on the movie were rescued except for one that died. This was done in the Philippines that nearly brought back the death penalty for the creator and his wife who were both captured and convicted. It breaks my heart though that the kids involved, one less than 18 months, have a life sentence because this is something that even though it was stopped they never forget.

I was molested daily for years by my step brother as a child and any day he was away I would be so happy. I would often hide for hours in the bathtub so he assumed no one was home. Trauma is awful and I feel for his kids.

You need to remember that she was raised in a belief system that is extremely close or is a cult. She was raised her whole life to think her only value in life is to be a wife first then a mother. She has been taught that her husband is her number 1 priority in her life before anything else, she was trained to be 100% devoted & obedient to her husband. She was not exposed to the outside world, she was taught not question anything she was taught & that her religious beliefs must be a priority in every single aspect of life, she's been taught that everything she does & chooses must benefit her husband & god before herself. She truly believes all that crap with everything she has within her, just as much as you truly believe you know your name, imagine strangers telling you that your name is different to what you know it as, would just believe them because that's what they say. She doesn't know any better & when or if she has been told different she wont believe it because her beliefs & cult like family & social circles say that the real world is wrong. They have been taught that the outside world is religiously corrupt & turned our back to god, modesty, good values etc. They understand & accept the real world as much as most people understand & accept their religious life style. It's not as simple as "she knows better". It is possible that the defense rested so quickly on Josh's case so he would be able to file an appeal on a poor defense representation. That would give the family more time to find a fall guy or some other way to change the conviction.

The victims on the movie were rescued except for one that died. This was done in the Philippines that nearly brought back the death penalty for the creator and his wife who were both captured and convicted. It breaks my heart though that the kids involved, one less than 18 months, have a life sentence because this is something that even though it was stopped they never forget.

I was molested daily for years by my step brother as a child and any day he was away I would be so happy. I would often hide for hours in the bathtub so he assumed no one was home. Trauma is awful and I feel for his kids.

You need to remember that she was raised in a belief system that is extremely close or is a cult. She was raised her whole life to think her only value in life is to be a wife first then a mother. She has been taught that her husband is her number 1 priority in her life before anything else, she was trained to be 100% devoted & obedient to her husband. She was not exposed to the outside world, she was taught not question anything she was taught & that her religious beliefs must be a priority in every single aspect of life, she's been taught that everything she does & chooses must benefit her husband & god before herself. She truly believes all that crap with everything she has within her, just as much as you truly believe you know your name, imagine strangers telling you that your name is different to what you know it as, would just believe them because that's what they say. She doesn't know any better & when or if she has been told different she wont believe it because her beliefs & cult like family & social circles say that the real world is wrong. They have been taught that the outside world is religiously corrupt & turned our back to god, modesty, good values etc. They understand & accept the real world as much as most people understand & accept their religious life style. It's not as simple as "she knows better". For her to really understand the devastating impact of his crimes, to see it the way the law & most people see his crime's & how horrifying it really is, she would need to be deprogrammed of her beliefs & life style.

I like what Michelle said about being your husband's biggest cheerleader. I think this applies to husbands to wives. When I do premarital counseling, I tell the couple that they are to not speak down to or about their partner. Obviously in cases of abuse, the covenant is already broken.

It is possible that the defense rested so quickly on Josh's case so he would be able to file an appeal on a poor defense representation. That would give the family more time to find a fall guy or some other way to change the conviction.
That would be extremely hard to do, they would need to show 'deliberate neglect' you can't get an appeal just because your lawyer was incompetent.

I had a feeling that Anna believed Josh, but the rest of his family knew he was guilty. It's very telling that Michelle never went to the trial. It seemed pretty obvious that JB knows Josh is guilty. That makes sense that Anna believed that Caleb was at fault (according to Josh) and was just waiting for that moment in court to seal the deal...but then it didn't happen. Reality might hit her one of these days.
