I play your tunes when the world is closing in on me sister, I listen I shed a tear and then I feel like the strongest deadliest man in the world your music is that powerful to me. Thanks sister JCB
Dear Waveny Yasso, This song is constantly spinning around in my head. Thank you so much for connecting an Australian song to Aboriginal culture, especially Wiradjuri. I am a firm believer in helping children understand we have a shared history, and your video is a strong resource for all my early childhood and primary uni assignments. Im going to find someone in my area to teach me this song in Wiradjuri so that i can one day teach it to my own class when i finish uni. You are a beautiful soul. Charli
OMGODS I don't Know Where To start,Thats The First Time I've Heard My Native Language ever As I Only Just Tracked My Bloodline back to Bogan Gates. Thank you so much, you made me cry your amazing WARIDJURI
Waveney Yasso my neighbor gave me her English to Wiradjury dictionary to read, really interesting, syntax seem similar to te reo maori... will look into what the unis are offering. :) hope you are well and still writing and singing.
+stuffzzz yay America! I also wish there were more resources! Australia itself is very behind in educating black history, & aboriginal studies itself x
Yamandhu marang Waveney? Mandaang guwu for your beautiful song....Marang ngadhu-na! Yuwin ngadhi Scott, and Dyiramadilinya (to come from) Wiradjuridya dhaagundha. Gadhangilinya upload some more songs :D
I wish I knew my families language but I've never had anyone to teach me or be able to find somewhere I could learn :/ Also you sing very beautifully 😊
Do you have a written transcription of the words? I know it is an oral language, so that's tricky. I'm showing my students your beautiful performance, and it was the quietest they have been all year! They were stunned to listen to your beautiful voice, and then we had a go at singing it.
Hi, You have a lovely voice. My best friend is a Wiradjuri Woman and I would love to be able to sing this for her and her mob one day...lol...Where can i find these lyrics so i can learn it?
This looks like it was shot on a smart phone, but the sound quality is great? How did you do it? Wonderful version of the song, which I have added to my playlists.
oduffy1936 The old iPhone, in my bathroom. I had an iPhone 5s at the time and the phone kind of sat on the window sill with the window open so you can sort of hear outside noises too. Thanks
Hi, Amazing to listen to. You have such a beautiful voice. I am a Primary School Teacher in Sydney and would love to teach this version of Waltzing Matilda to my class. I’ve been searching for the Wiradjuri lyrics but cannot find them. Would it be possible for you to please post lyrics?
Peta Maddern unfortunately this language is not mine and I do not have the rights to share or teach this language. I am sure there might be several language experts close to you who might be able to teach and share more than I can. I have received special permission from an elder on Wiradjuri country to share this song version. Best of luck, Thanks for watching. Waveney x
Beautiful. Thank you so much for your beautiful voice and playing, and unifying cultures. :) Signed, grateful primary teacher.

Oh I want to learn, such a beautiful language.... must be somewhere to learn Wiradjuri Language in Sydney.
Sheldon some universities in NSW have language as a study. Some elders in community still speak and teach!
Waveney Yasso my neighbor gave me her English to Wiradjury dictionary to read, really interesting, syntax seem similar to te reo maori... will look into what the unis are offering. :) hope you are well and still writing and singing.
Thank you :)
It's more about the thought that it represents for Australians
Tell me more? :)
Australia day tends to be a reason for the population to argue. For many people it represents different things.

Very nice
So beautiful! Could you post the Wiradjuri lyrics? Im trying to learn more Wiradjuri songs and would love to learn this ❤️
Harlowe Arden: I'd love the lyrics, too. I teach Waljin Bat Mathilda the Ali Mills version. I love this one because it is slow and lyrical.
Low key fire
Nice sining

That was absolutely stunning. Could you post the lyrics please?
Dear Waveney Yasso, Absolutely beautiful, you don't have these lyrics written out do you, I would love to give them to my nan.
Unfortunately I dont have them, or the permission to teach.
Sorry x
