totally! my favorite part of SVU honestly. Although I appreciate how they are using relevant/recent cases... I don't think they have this suspenseful aspect to it anymore
There is an irl case where this guy keeps his daughter in a makeshift bunker/basement thing and she ends up having multiple of his children. Some of them, got to go upstairs and live a normal life, but some of the others would die from neglect since she had to have the babies in the basement with little help. She luckily got out one time when her child was sick and dying, and she managed to convince her “father” to take them to the hospital.
@@Alsomnia My initial thought was of a different case, but the details are a bit different at the end there. Whereas Fritzl was convinced to take his victim to the hospital and he ended up going to prison, Wolfgang Přiklopil's victim fled after 8 years of captivity and he jumped in front of a train to avoid being arrested.
3:13 I wish they had corrected the common myth that teenager girls are at the most fertile point in their lives. The early cycles during teen years often release eggs that aren't that great compared to women in their twenties which means more miscarriages and complications, and they are by far at the highest risk of pregnancy and childbirth-related injuries, permanent disability, and death. The most fertile window including quality and consistent release of eggs and more importantly the wellbeing of mother and child for most, with other factors causing variations, starts around 24.
@@CatzlovichCatnipAndCabbages but guys are equally bad the sperm quality goes off a cliff and its the main cause for miscarriages, a 25 girl with a 25 guys gets pregnant in average in 4 months but if you change the couple to a 25 girl and 40 man it takes in average 2 years. 1:52 they let the cop off so easy there they could charge him with desecration of a corpse or messing with evidence. There’s no way he shot a dead girl and didn’t know that she was dead. Like she didn’t have a gun. And couldn’t move cuz she’s dead.
The cop didn't shoot her. He was shooting at another person and got the person in the shoulder. The bullet went through the live guy's shoulder, through the kid, through the metal drum, and into the wall.
When the body of a murdered 14-year-old girl is discovered in a back alley, Detective Benson and Stabler discover the victim was a missing Pennsylvania teenager believed to have been kidnapped eight months earlier. It's discovered that, as a result of having no food and water for nearly a week, she developed a blood clot in her left lung that killed her. Ultimately its discovered she's part of a cult led by Doctor Garrett Lang to supposedly clone dead babies, while he really impregnates the girls with his own children. The head of the place she was living, Paula Haggerty initially plans to go down for the girl's death to protect Lang, but another of the girls convinces her to help them put him away for good.
