Everything will trade down to its intrinsic value against Bitcoin. You are starting to see it. Many don't understand this concept (yet). You're early.
the impact has been a slight net positive in btc, maybe +300k btc. The alt coin market has been overall utter decay which is why it seems like we haven't really moved anywhere. Market cap with ETF launch start was about $1.8T, almost hit $3T in March (both BTC and Alts killing it), but since eroded to about $2-2.2T. Essentially sideways with most loses from the alt side. The ETFs are buying, but it's just not that impressive yet in real portfolio terms. Other than we on retail side are just DCA/staking more as prices remain flat.
Bitcoin only goes up, when all retail lose their Bitcoins, they will keep pushing it down until everyone loses hope and sells, and only then it will go UP. Bitcoin is heavily manipulated.

That's probably most people and so why we have fear of our savings account dropping 65% in the Bear market. I'm totally invested in BTC but just saying what everyone is thinking. Currently BTC is a buy-n-hold investment. But safe and simple DeFi is coming. Buy-n-invest means you will be a private banker and offer up your BTC for loans or mortgages. You will get price appreciation over time, but also a yield when you put your BTC to work. In this scenario (similar to rental real estate), even average joes could live on/retire on the monthly yield, AND pass on the appreciated value of their Bitcoin holdings to their surviving loved ones.
I hope you are correct. I like your points but history won't necessarely repeat. One of my main concern is that Bitcoin is a creation of humanity, as opposed to gold which was created by nature. I can't think of anything created by human which didn't eventually fail or be replaced by competitors. Also Satoshi is anonymous, but Bitcoin is still lead by a group of developpers and miners. Not sure what would happen if they take the wrong decisions in regards to Bitcoin upgrades (I understand the code behind Bitcoin keeps evolving?) or if miners turn to another project (another POW, AI etc ..). Will see how long Bitcoin can survive (I believe in Bitcoin and I hope it will succeed ! These are just questions/concerns from the top of my head)
In my view, I believe Bitcoin will return to $75k by the end of Q4 and surpass $100k in 2025. We just need to be patient and weather the volatility. I recently bought more SATs around $59k, with plans to sell when the market peaks.
I find the comparison between the Bitcoin Network and AWS / Google Cloud / Azure Datacenters facinating, but I can't quite get behind what you said Pomp. It - of course - is extremely difficult to compare since normal Datacenters do completely different things than the Bitcoin Network, but I'll try: AWS for example does have 100+ Datacenters with 3M+ Servers while MS Azure and Google Cloud should be somewhere in that ballpark. Bitcoin's Hashrate with 650 EH / ~110 TH per Mining Server should total out at around 5M Mining Servers. Impressive, but to say it's bigger... I'm sceptical.
Referring to the mining network as a computer network is a sly analogy. ASIC miners aren't general-purpose computers like those available in public clouds.
