Mulch those areas with anything you strim. Critical to retain whatever soil moisture you can.

Great progress. In the 'oasis' you might consider removing the grass and weeds and planting that small area with flowers for the bee's or clover maybe. Something that doesn't take a lot of water. I think we need another Tilly weigh in!

I marvel at your rock building prowess. The whole BBQ/ outdoor eating area has been transformed and has finished up nicely. Congratulations . If it does rain there you are going to set some gabions to hold the run off in place. When the earth so hard and dry is like it is now, it won't soak into the soil and you will get erosion. That converter is loud. Does it have to run all the time? Are all converters loud like this one? I wonder if you can soundproof it with some thick panels of cork stuck together as a cover? You could make a compress on your wrist, Sharon, with comfrey leaves. It is supposed to heal bone breakes like super magic.😊

Well done! Maybe that gap behind the solar electrical board is resonating almost like a musical instrument, making the whirring even louder? Would it deaden the sound a bit if you filled the gap between the board and the wall with some sort of soundproofing panel or material? Or maybe you could put a soundproof box around the whirring control box. Easier than making the door to the cupboard airtight enough to stop the noise getting out! Could you use soundproof panels like they use in recording studios?
You need to put those melon plants far further apart I think, to get a decent crop. Maybe you could just pile up a mound of compost and donkey poo here and there for each plant? Presumably you don't have lots of slugs which eat all your tiny plants given how dry it is. That's a bonus! Good luck! 😁

If the noise is a problem on the patio, maybe you could change the fan(s) in that charge controller? Noctua or Noctua industrial! Anyway great job!

I saw many trips up and down a ladder, while carrying buckets of rocks or mortar! Strimming, workshop cleaning, and chores. Sharon, please be careful while you’re healing. Remember the initial assessment of the break, it takes time to heal properly. What a lovely dry barbecue area, now!
