Paul,,
Good job and good friendships. Thanks for sharing a good time. Now what about that money!
Congratulations! What an interesting group of people in one spot for the event! Content creators have a lot in common! Nice job!
That’s pretty insane
Nice
Hat to attack position!
"Aye aye captain"
Great video and thanks for sharing that with us. I wish I could have attended and met some the people, like you, that make the YT videos I enjoy. I was surprised and glad that you won. Darn tough competition too. Thanks again and keep up the good work
Saw it live and enjoyed your video recap….awesome win!
Hi it’s Stacie! Great job James! You are the man! I can’t do that sort of thing but I can watch someone who can tell me about converters and that kind of stuff! Awesome video!
What a great contest and challenge.......congrats on the win, can't wait to see what great tools you buy with the $1000
Up against Adam...now, that is tough competition!
Congratulations James.
nah, Keith fenner smoked abom every time and not just by a little, minutes
Excellent job.....never a doubt in my mind that you weren't gonna succeed....Hail to the KING !!!!
Hiya James. Congratulations
Hi James Congratulations,
The 4 Jaw Chuck is over Here in Germany a absolute Unicorn normaly called Planscheibe. I have never seen sombody using it but i am following this Challenge since Tom made the 4 Jaw King Maker.
Nice! Congratulations James, I was happy for you when I heard on the live stream you won.
Great job James, I had a feeling you would win
Congratulations - I hope to make it to the Bash one of these days.
Well done on that weird part.
Congrats, love your channel👍👍👍😎
MIND OVER MATTER....GOOD JOB!!
Hey James, well done!
Nice😎
About that dinner… 😁. Congrats!
Solid Game Face
Clean win James, belt shipped Friday (insured)
Got it. Thanks!
Love to steal that belt😉
You definitely won because of the backwards hat 😜 Congrats on the victory!
Very cool. You've reached the upper echelon. I keep meaning to try to attend this event and offer to be the still photographer. Perhaps one day I'll make it.
That grin at the end translates to " You got no chance".
There's always a chance. :)
Congrats! This is not a small feat. I've heard the competition is really stiff there. :-)
Congrats! Nice job on an evil challenge! 8-0
i knew the results and was still sweating it out at home .. Especially on that first stop.
Hi James, I was wondering if you have taken steps to increase dimensional accuracy on the ELGOO Mars 2 Pro like you did on your FDM printer? I recently purchased one after seeing your video. I plan on using it mainly for engineered parts where accuracy is necessary. Is it fairly accurate out of the box or does it require tweaking? Thanks!
It seems to be within a couple thou out of the box. I ran a reamer through a printed pulley to get a good shaft fit, but it prints usable M3 threads.
Awesome job, congratulations! I guess only using three of the four jaws and/or barely grabbing it wouldn't work either ;-)
I was translating into polar coordinates in my head, and that worked okay for me. It was challenging for sure.
Nice video! And that Osmo did a great job--I might have to get one. It was nice meeting you and chatting at the bash.
Yeah, it was nice meeting you. Been thinking about injection molded parts since we talked. I 3D print a lot of parts for ELS kits...
@@Clough42 I can use Santoprene (TPU, I think) to create flexible parts. Molding is fast, at about 50-100 parts/hour. It would be fun to collaborate. I'll send you an email.
“Are you a sociopathic machinist?!” “I’m more of a sadist”
😎
7 months late, but Congrats James!
Congrats man, awesome work! Also Quinn looks wayyyy taller than I thought we was, her videos make her look 5'4" ish but she looks much taller than that here!
I think she's almost like 6' or something
Relative size is really hard to judge in videos. I keep overestimating the size of things in her videos, including the steam engine. But yeah, she's about 6'. I was surprised as well.
Well done , I think Quinn could show you a thing or two roll on next year .
She was there, but didn't enter this year.
Congratulations!! Did you read the fine print that said you have to wear the belt anytime you are in the shop?
The belt will need a few more holes punched for that to happen. :)
Fantastic James, how many total contestants were there ?
There were enough entries to mostly fill out a 4-round bracket, so 13-15, maybe?
Just now watching the whole event,,and congrates on the win ♥️😜 Awesome event. Have you seen Brian over at bcbkoc02 chuck up a cummins turbo on his lathe??? Check it when you have time,,,Bear
Nice work James! What was the actual time to get that bad boy indicated? 6.5 minutes I assume?
Yeah. I think 6:40. I could probably do it in 2-3 minutes now, having done it once. Maybe. It's a casting, so it could easily go sideways in a hurry.
well done and well deserved james but we have some girls in town which make a thousand even faster
Looks like you have a new milling machine. I don't know if you mentioned it, I have no audio.
Nice one. The rather worrying thing were the fact there were no youngsters there that are coming through, or not in the video anyway.
That is just too cool, looks like a lot of fun.
Gradually getting used to seeing mouths near each other, gotta just repeat under my breath "I'm sure they're vaccinated"...
It was a lot of fun. It's definitely nice to be around people again, but I am sympathetic toward people who are struggling to adjust.
@@Clough42 yeah, can't adjust yet, high risk kids. But yeah, that looks like a ton of fun. Glad you were able to go!
See.. you are better than you think...Your viewers know that.
BRA-VO
Did you spend all the money there?
Don't what's better, winning $1K, getting the belt, or getting reconnition from Keith F. Either way congraduation.
Dude. And a hug!
should have let adam (abom) have a go with that 4 jaw nobody would have a chance :D
Ok James, so now can you do an electronic 4 jaw? Seriously one of the selling points for the PM1127 is that it comes with the dreaded 4 jaw. I am no Abom or giterdone or blondihack, but its time to try.
Using a 4-jaw chuck is not particularly hard, as long as you're not in a hurry. It's the same as most machine setups. Take your time and do it carefully and you'll get good results.
@@Clough42 Agreed. First time I ever set something up in the 4-jaw I had it dialled in within a few tenths in a minute or two. It's a logical process, not magic. I wouldn't win any competitions but it's really not that hard!
Congratulations on a great win. How many contests proceeded that one?
I am always amazed at your skills as engineer and machinist and yet your ability to provide clear and concise guidance so dobbies like me can duplicate much of your designs. I can with C’42 power, single point thread on the most humble of harbor fright combo lathes. I don’t think I will be building any raffle tumbling steam engines, but there might be some trolley parts turned out. (They use short 1/4-24 screws in the GE drum controllers.)
The thumbnail for this video should really be your new profile pic.
