Mom to the rescue!!! I thought the same thing when I saw the bottom. Also, I bet you could even use different inserts for the brick part to change that as needed. One black. One brick. Just pop them in and out from the front
Oh my goodness Emily...your fireplace turned out amazing!!! I love that you made your own stencil! Everything looks gorgeous! As always, thank you for sharing your creativity, talent and inspiration! Stay safe, healthy and positive! God bless you and your family! 🙏❤🇺🇸😊
Love what you did. Can't wait to see it for Christmas. One year for the holiday at work. One person made small stockings with each of your names. So I made a fireplace out of constriction paper. An other made the fire. It was one of our best years ever.
You are so creative! I love how if you find out its way to high for such a simple piece you are looking for, you come up with your own design! Your skills are amazing & get better all the time! My guess is that they didn't even have anything like your vision, because your vision is simple, but yet specifically designed to go with your style & not everyone's style. No cookie cutter design for you! Lol. But true, your own specific style can't always be bought anyways! Love how you fixed your flaw design & showed it. So other ppl. could learn from your mistake & how to fix it!
My husband built a fireplace for me ours has a black background .He also made his own plans it turned out great. I just love your fireplace you did a great job on it
I finally figured out what you were doing but at 1st for the life of me I couldn't figure out why you were doing all these beveled and angled cuts until the project started to come together more and it's absolutely beautiful
Just wanted to let you know...I began watching your videos a week ago and am totally impressed by your presence 👌👏😀😊🙌 From NYC..you are absolutely adorable!
Looks awesome! I love the idea of the faux fireplace and I LOVE how the “walls” of the fireplace look like they are turning in. It really gives it that extra dimension.
I really like it, you did a terrific job Emily! I was hoping you'd pick that color for the project. It turned out great. If you made the brick darker, you can always highlight the brick to look more realistic. I also liked the idea of using the blankets to change the look, very smart thinking!
It turned out sooo beautiful! I want a mantel too lol. You are very talented, not only in the kitchen but also DIYs around the house. You really are a momma from scratch!😊❤
Cute. I like it. I accidently came upon peel and stick tile on etsy. Girl you gotta check it out. I was looking for a Moroccan look but they have so many with or without grout. It has a cool texture to it also. I used it fir a backsplash behind my kitchen stove. Git a piece if poster board and cut it to size and put tile stickers onto it. I attached to wall with velcro. You could never tell it was not real tile. I thought it would look cool on your mantel too!!
Amazing!!!!! If I were you, I would paint the inside black and the surrounding a mix of the paint you chose with some baking soda to achieve the "stone" effect. Also, loved your hair!!!
When I make “brick” or “wood” presentations for my interior design clients I color/render the main area and then add the tile or wood lines. This main area first technique saves alot of time and looks great.
So glad you did this . Our fixer upper does not have a fireplace and was looking at get a electric one they have one at Big Lots but that thing is $700 . Now is it worth it yeah but didn’t want to spend that much on it . So this is a great alternative.
Loved this, we have done this, many moons ago, with an old cast iron one, in a corner, in one of our bedrooms, so effective, the wooden frame you created much cheaper alternative, thank you for sharing, may have to do another one 😊
I agree that the solid black will look better and more realistic. I like the color you chose for the rest of the project.
Love your willingness to keep going and adapt!! 😀😀
