- ATV/UTV Tire Change with a Princess Auto Tire Changer
A quick video show the use of the tire changer and a few lessons I learned along the way.
I know I forgot eye protection during the inflation but I did wear a full face shield for the other 3. Must have been the pressure of filming! :)
www.princessaut...
Finally someone addresses the best way of putting the tire on - angling the pole at a 45 degree angle should help with my problem of the end of the pole popping out. Thank you!!!
Glad that helped Duane! 👍
Thanks for this, we just bought a tire changer and it had no instructions! You are awesome.
Glad it helped! 😉
I got the same one on sale at PA as I was looking at changing out 8 tires on my Argo. As I also bought a used lawn tractor I needed new tires and saw some on kijiji but with 12" rims, brand new, cheap.(the guy made a mistake buying on Amazon) I saw another advert looking for rims same as mine so I offered him the new rims for the same amount I paid for the assembly/set,minus tires. He paid for my tires, & my changer is paying its way already!
Thats awesome! 😄 Nice work! 😉
Good job good sir. I'll give you a tip on putting on tire. Usually you can push first bead on without using the bar. And it saves you time. 😁
Good to know! I'll try that on the next one :)
Thank you for putting a video of that on RUclips. I'm thinking of getting one for doing tires smaller than 13 in. Anything bigger than that will fit on my pneumatic tire machine. Enjoy your tool.
It is on sale right now for 59.99$ at Princess Auto.
Thats a good deal! 👍
Nice you sold me. I was debating this my self as i go through a set of tires every 1.5 yrs. Plus the hassle to remove the wheels, drop them off and pick them back up, for two machines.
Glad I could help! It surprising works well!
Thanks. Useful, I just bought 2 new tires for the ATV and will use the tire changer.
Glad it helped 👍
Those beads setting must've sent out a large shockwave!! Did you see that camera jump?! 😊
Great video.
LOL - The camera person is a little un-nerved :)
If you want it so you don't have to bend over while you are breaking the bead than drop the pins on the closest hole to the floor and that will raise your handle up more and make it so you don't have to bend over as much. it won't change the forces on you arms but it will make it easier on your back.
Thanks for the tip John! 👍
I got 23x10-12 tires for you think it's ok to change it to 25x10-12 bcoz it's hard to look for the original size
Thanks for your reply
If it fits on your machine I don’t see why not. It’s just 2” taller.
good video, that will save you a little and and handy when tire shops are closed.
It will indeed, I can swap tires for friends too now - hmmm - that might be a lot of work :)
Who remembers breaking the bead with the old bumper Jack's?🤔
When they stopped making bumper jacks I would just drive over the tire while it's laying on the ground making sure to be as close to the bead as possible?
Oh! The days when I had more muscle than money!😂🤣
LOL - So very true! 😄
Great video!👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it James 👍
Did you beef up the breaker adding the brace across it or did they get smart and start selling it beefed up?
I bent My Harbor Freight one, It is not braced when You buy it.
Hmmm - It was pretty beefy from the store. You would have to really reef on it to bend it. Maybe its the upgraded version!
@@TheEmporiumOutdoors It has To Be. The Harbor Freight Changer does not have The Middle Brace like yours does.
Huh - interesting!
Great video man
Appreciate it 👍
Good tips! You made it look simple!!
Glad it was helpful!
Can you put 10 inch rim size tires on an 11 inch rim? Got new rims old rims leak. Tires are for 10 inch rims. New rims have 11 inch fronts. Is it possible?
I don't think so my friend. They have to match up - last thing you need is one of those heading south on you when you are riding hard! 😉
I never had any luck installing with the tool they give you. Kept slipping Out. We Had a Manual changer years ago, I never had trouble with the bar slipping out.
Its tricky for sure - but one you get the first 2 done 3 and 4 get easier 👍
@@TheEmporiumOutdoors I got A New Machine, The Motorcycle Attachment and A No-Mar Bar Think I paid $80.00 Or $90.00 for Everything. The Changer is mounted on a Big piece of Diamond Plate Too.
I have Not tried the No-Mar Bar Yet,
Here is the No-Mar Bar

I watched the video - that's pretty slick - that guy makes it all look very easy! Thanks for the heads up!
I used this same changer to change out the tires on my 4 wheelers, since I was doing both this made since to me to pick up his and save money from here on out. You will have sweat equity in but well worth it not paying 60-80 to change out tires.
Yup - this thing has already payed for itself - plus I gained new friends who need tire changes :/ :D
Lol, who wouldn't have jumped....dang, she did good. It's always nice having you one step ahead of me with the P5 stuff Mike, certainly makes my life easier. You looked very competent with the tire changer since I've seen people wrestle endlessly with em. Nice job anchoring it. Are the tires just stock replacements one size up? Take care ole buddy.
Hahaha - she flinches even when you describe a balloon popping :) Yes - I got some take off's from a friends quad so they are 25x8x12 front and 25x10x12 rear. They are Dura DI-K591's 1 inch taller that's all. I took them riding today and the p500 did seem taller (a little). If I was going to pay for tires they would be 26" ones I think. Thanks again for watching Mustang - always look forward to your comments :)
Nice! Can't beat that deal. I'll probably be looking at new tires in 6 months, considering the Carlisle ACT HD's 26X9XR12 and 26X11XR12. Lots of mud and rock down here, no snow. Let me know if you've seen these tires before, I don't have experience with them. Frank.
Wow I'm "tired" just watching this. Very informative
LOL - :) very funny
That tire changer is way better than the Harbor Freight king! For real!
It works pretty well! 👍
Excellent demo
Thanks Lance!
Ya got this had mine up side down ha ha ok thks again for sharin this Keep it up
No problem 👍
Jees man, you did way better than I did.
It can be a bit tricky but it gets easier after a few goes :)
Awesome tire video ever continue to make another tire video
Thanks! Will do!
Crikey getting a tyre changed in a garage there is very expensive . On the other hand I imagine being self sufficient i e changing your own tyres is not only a cash saving but it will save you time running out and having a garage do it .
Unusual but very interesting video .
Most people don't need regular tire changes I guess - but you are right - I'll never have to pay again :)
She would really hate the sound of a truck or loader tire bead setting...lol.
Thanks for sharing
I bet - lol 😄
Have you bolted the tire changer to the floor slab ?
thank you for the nice video.
Yes I did. I drilled some holes and used some epoxy to glue nuts into the concrete. Seems to work ok.
Can you make a video where you change the regular car tire with this Princess Auto tool? Thanks.
Hi The Wishmaster - This is the smaller tire changer and unfortunately doesn't do car tires. It's only for smaller wheels like trailers and UTV. Sorry my friend!
@@TheEmporiumOutdoors it will do up to a 20 car or truck tire i have the same one that you have
Can i ask the size off the tire
The one the you pullout?
Sure - 25X8-12 25X10-12 👍
@@TheEmporiumOutdoors ok thanx sir
Does not work for 7" Yamaha moto4 tires. I just tried it. Rim sits on round part. Doesn't go through. The thing that goes through the bolt hole is too big. The center metal part sits to high (cause rim doesn't go through) can't tight it down. Even tho it says for 4" to 16" tire. Doesn't work for me :/
Ohh interesting - Thanks for the info Denis! 👍
You need the other one they sell for lawn mower wheels, it is called a mini tire changer.
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it Shawn! 👍
Thank you
You're welcome
Michael I also own a Pioneer 500. Curious as to what tires you bought and was it just for the height change or were you looking for more traction also. Did the added height cause your Honda to be less stable. I enjoy your videos. I also think we married the same type of girl. Roughing it for my wife is no pool at the motel.
Hi Sen - lol Wives! :D I wanted to get a little taller and the stock tires are only 24" with not the best traction. I got these 25" for free so I put them on and they have been better. In a perfect world I would go with 26" Bighorns but I want to get the most out these ones first as it seems wasteful otherwise. I havn't noticed the machine being any more unstable. I hope you are enjoying the P500!
Great video mate....disgusting to see that you get so few viewings while some other wannabee’s get many...keep going !
Thanks Mark - Who knows how the algorithm works?! I kinda agree though, some other videos are very low quality and poor content but they have thousands of views. I'll keep poking along - I have some great regular viewers who comment all the time so I feel I'm building a great community. Makes it all worthwhile :D Best wishes Michael
You’re awesome man, thank you. 🙏
Happy to help!
Dont put soap on until after the bead is broken. As you can see the plate will keep slipping off the tire.
Great tip! 👍
well done thanks
Thank you Mike!
Thank you, was thinking about buying one instead of paying someone.
Sounds good Russ - It saved me a bunch of cash!
thanks for the time taken, good video
Thanks Kurt!
Another tip when seating the tire. Remove the valve core
Good idea!
Outstanding instructional video.
Thanks, I'm glad you found it useful :)
Thanks for sharing
Holly shit. Good video I need one. Thanks
Glad you liked it! 👍
good job
Thanks Ray - I've used this a few times now and its still working well!
Awesome video. Best part is wife jumping
I enjoyed that bit too! :D
Good video
Thanks Joshua! 👍
Хороший станок . Для домашнего использования в самый раз.
Спасибо - это полезно для небольших шин - наилучшие пожелания из Канады!
Привет из Киева.Уважаю творческих людей. Если можно напиши откуда родом.
I only paid about $50 at Princess Auto and my wife works there and got me 20% off of that. It looks identical to the one he is using.
Thats a great price!!! 👍
Yeaaahhh.....I'll just drop mine off at the tire shop, bubba
Its pretty easy - but sure! 😉
Thanks, gonna run out and get one.
They work well for what they are!
Bought one of these and changed a couple sets of atv tires. Not worth it at all. Bought a tire machine to change tires with instead.
For the occasional tire it works fine. A full tire machine is obviously better 👍
Good job!
Thanks Steven!
good job Mike Can I bring my car over ? it needs new tires
Sure - $25 plus tax :D
Bro you can use a harbor freight cost of removal OK
Hi James - Sorry I don't understand the comment. Could you say it in a different way?
Haha I jumped with the pop!
LOL - :D
It's only $50 on amazon!
Really! Wow nice!!
Rolls Wrecks and Repairs 40 bucks at harbor freight
Always love a trip to Princess Auto. Here's a review I did on their manual tire changer if you're interested:
ruclips.net/video/C44rvJlkzVA/видео.html
dont put soap around the beads when you brake the beads, thart is why its slipping, no need for that.
Thanks for the tip Pat!
Video dont work
I think that a computer problem not a video problem....
$25 each at a tire place there? Wow get 4 for $30 here.
Wow thats a good deal! Here they want to add new valves, time, equipment etc. In Canada we over pay for most things especially beer and cheese!
The Emporium Outdoors oh really? 30 pack of Keystone light is like $18 here. What beer cost there? Lol
$50.95 CAD + tax and can deposit ($39 USD) - Don't get me started on cheese! I lived in NY for a year and remember a case of 24 beer being cheaper than a flat of water. Happy days :D
The Emporium Outdoors jeez. Does work pay that good there? Not sure how anyone affords to live
LOL - You have to be rich to be an alcoholic here :D It's not too bad for other things and we have inclusive health care, so that helps. When I was living in NY my health care costs were insane and the idea of starting your own small company was tough because of that. In Canada is much easier to be an entrepreneur I feel - but there are pros and cons to any place you live!
