Incredibly surprised with your understanding of the game, not many North Americans keep up with South American football (if you want to learn about the future of our sport I highly recommend watching the upcoming Olympics, we have MANY gems and so does South America). You have to look at the “penalty” in real motion, the speed of two players going for a ball and clashing with no foul intention. European and South American officiating does have a difference. As for the Argentina handball, there was no way for the Colombian player to react and the hand was in a limit of the natural position. I think VAR really wanted no trouble. Their function is to overcome obvious errors with calls made by the main ref, not necessarily be nitpicking things that you can personally doubt. Saying “I think” in your own analysis will always mean VAR will uphold the call made by the ref. It’s the best way I think of it. Hell of a game by Colombia, my best friend is from there and their time will come. Keep up the good work💪

It's been great to listen to your vids. It's great to see Americans enthusiastic about this sport. I'm half Colombian, half American so I always get to cheer for two teams on the world stage. But this past two years my Cafeteros side has experienced such bliss watching this team play. I have never in my life seen a Colombian side this good. While it was a bummer to lose, there's no way any Colombian should be upset about this game. We took one of the historically greatest futbol teams in history down to the last minutes of OT in a championship game. And this was Nestor's first loss as a manager. That's incredibly impressive. Even more so when you look at the stats from the last time we played Argentina 2 years ago. They mopped the field with us and barely broke a sweat. Yeah the score was the same but La Albiceleste was never concerned about us in that game. It's an incredible turnaround and all Colombians should be very excited about the prospects for this team in 2026; they are a legitimate semi-final contender should this group stay together and stay healthy for that tournament. Congrats to Argentina on a well deserved championship. Vamonos Colombia!!
Brother in 2021 semi finals Argentina did not mop the floor with Colombia. The game ended 1-1 in 90 minutes and Colombia had several opportunities to score. The game was very even and Colombia ended up losing in Penalty Shots. In 2019 Copa America Colombia beat Argentina 2-0 in group stage. Colombia vs Argentina are always some exciting games to watch. I do agree with you this is the best Colombian team we've seen that closely rivals the 92-94 Colombian team. I'm also Colombian and I'm extremely proud of their performance in this cup. I think the future is very bright for the Colombian national team

The US is ready to host it. But the organizers behind it are the ones in question. I’ve been to many sporting events from football, American football, basketball, baseball, and nothing has ever been this disorganized and unsafe. I think it’s unfair the US is getting the heat for this when we’ve hosted a WC and Copa before and never had any problems until now. People aren’t looking into the whole details of the situation. The US is just the easy target bc we aren’t a “football country.”
The US is easily capable of hosting a World Cup. It has before, it hosts NFL football games and baseball games in stadiums almost every day. College football as well. The US is not to blame for the COPA American shyt show. That level of corruption and of incompetence has its root in South America.

Wouldn’t say changed everything. As the game continued the experience of this Argentina team plus the pressure they were putting on Colombia, they just got gassed and couldn’t keep up. Argentina also have way more quality on their bench and it showed. Colombia definitely played better consistently throughout the tournament but couldn’t get the job done and that’s no disrespect either. This is now a learning experience for Colombia and I expect them to really be more dangerous going forward😄
