Trains in GTA SA stop slower because it is a normal train, and in other versions (without GTA V) there are subway/undergroung/metro trains, which are designed to gain speed faster and stop faster, to make the average speed of train higher, and by this decrease time of travel. In normal trains it is not about gaining speed, but maximum speed.

I always loved the trains on all the GTA's. Those was my getaways for lowering my wanted stars or the Police....And the scenery is amazing bunny hoppin' on a train car and viewing the environment. If GTA doing a revitalized Vice City it would be awesome to add the Miami's transit mono rail system.
Gta 4's train system was actually useful. It also felt the most real. Gta 5's tram sucks and the freight train is too industrial to be useful transport.

In my opinion from GTA 3 to the current GTA 5 they should have added a whistle to the train that was scheduled to whistle on the cruise ships and that could be used freely in GTA SA which is where you have more freedom for dry

I always loved the trains on all the GTA's. Those was my getaways for lowering my wanted stars or the Police....And the scenery is amazing bunny hoppin' on a train car and viewing the environment. If GTA doing a revitalized Vice City it would be awesome to add the Miami's transit mono rail system.
