- In an exclusive interview, former attorney general Jody Wilson-Raybould spoke with Mercedes Stephenson about her decisions made in the SNC-Lavalin case and her next steps going forward since being kicked out of the Liberal caucus.
She spoke about her decision to record the conversation with Clerk of the Privy Council Michael Wernick, criticisms directed towards her before the SNC-Lavalin scandal occurred, as well as if she plans to continue in politics.

conjureup JWR’s number one pick for SCC is Mary Ellen Turpel Lafond, Trudeau said no to her because the Saskatchewan caucus would not approve her, so Trudeau said no. That was the start of it. JWR thought she was in as Justice Minister forever. That’s not how politics works.
After Marry Ellen was overlooked for SCC she quit as judge in Saskatchwan and put a giant full page ad in the Globe and Mail that she was going to UBC to teach law. As if any was keeping track. But clearly, she was trying to make a point. Now Mary Ellen is advising JWR and they cooked this whole idea up between them. But, it was all after the fact.
So you better check your facts instead of putting your fingers in your ears.
She did not answer the direct question, 'Why didn't you go directly to the Prime Minister over this?'. She gave excuses like 'she didn't have a direct contact with him'.

This journalist is the best in Canada, and possibly the best journalist I have seen, anywhere. Totally unbiased, goes after the key questions, and informs the public. Two very impressive women in this interview. If this isn't an award winning interview, I don't know what is. Her commentary, her interviews are outstanding. So fair and informative. Well done.

What a wonderful interview. Thank you. Jody is such an honourable honest real genuine woman. She deserves the respect of all Canadians. I am so grateful for her integrity and doing her job to ensure the rule of law in our country. Our disappointment in the liberal party and the pm should, must and has to be reflected in the poles come October or sooner if an election is called. Vote Jodi Wilson-Raybould for Prime Minister! Forget voting her in for a riding in B. C. Let's vote her in as Prime Minister. It's time we vote in a person with integrity! The Harper government enacted the DPA and thus it is a legal vehicle to negotiate with corporations out of court and to settle for financial penalties instead of trials. SNC Lavelin has violated the laws for years and in my opinion the officers of that company should have been charged a long time ago. I certainly believe that JWR was pressured by Trudeau and his advisors and that he should have apologized and been open about his decision to use the DPA. There was no need to dismiss JWR or to eject her from cabinet since she is the lawyer and was clearly doing her job. The way this was handled shows that Trudeau is a weak leader. However, for me to support Andrew Scheer and the NDP in the up and coming federal election because of this needless incompetence is still unthinkable. I am pleased that both JWR and Philpott will continue as Liberals as they are experienced and extremely articulate unlike the man himself. Trudeau is a good delegator and that is a sign of good leadership. He needs good people around him, people who are liberal and who are not afraid to disagree or dissent.
JWR is an amazing woman for what she has done! I commend her for having strong morals & values and having the strength to do what's right! I wish her the best in whatever venture she pursues in the future! This I will say though...Andrew Sheer, get her somehow on the PC platform, she would be a great asset & ally!

Wish there was discussion on the real villain, SNC-Lavalin. 7 of 8 SNC officials charged by the RCMP since 2012 got off on technicalities. The 8th got a small fine and short house arrest. Why are they so difficult to prosecute in Canada?

Although I do not agree with JWR's identity politics, such as helping to pass Bill C-16 the compelled speech law, I support her in standing up against Trudeau, in the name of the law, truth, and justice. I do hope Canadians will get to hear the remainder of her testimony!
I think she is an example to all true Canadians and I applaud her stedfast honesty. Bravo! As for Trudeau he is a shameful and incompetent fool of a PM.
I am very proud of Jody, obviously a strong intelligent person. I don't understand her continued loyalty to JT and this Liberal party, a bit reminiscent of Stockholm Syndrome... hope that she can see her way clear of them soon. As a centrist (I think many Canadians are centrist) I would love to see her join the conservative party - think about it, she would be able to provide moderating influence on them, it would be hard work, but would be the best thing she could do for Canada and Canadians.
I still think that the future will bring the two women, Jody and Jane, together with Trudeau for the benefit of all of us. We need them all on the same team.

I believe there's good politicians in the NDP, Liberals, Green party and the Conservatives. If they where to switch teams it could save there career, and continue to do good things in politics. The end game looks like the media might have found a Prime Minister on the take, or possibly on the take and who wants to avoid the judicial process as his duty as PM.
It is nice to see some ethical strength standing up against dictatorial stupidity. Don't support all of her views but I respect her sincerity.

JWR definitely comes across as being honest, articulate, intelligent, and very professional. Actually, that's an understatement in that it's not just a matter of her coming across as being these things as any person of intelligence can see that she is indeed all of these things. Trudeau, on the other hand, is the complete polar opposite, thus the words that come to mind when describing Trudeau are dishonest (extreme liar, in fact, even to the point of being a creep), unintelligible when off-script (i.e. not reciting previously memorized lines that were written by his handlers), obtuse and incompetent.
Jody Raybould claims to be honored to serve the crown. Jody Raybould has to know that the crown was directly responsible for the atrocities committed against the indigenous people she claims to be fighting for. Something stinks here.

The truth of the matter is that the queen and prince philip were directly involved as was the vatican. Jody Raybould has to know that. How could anyone possibly think that you could make them accountable from within this corrupt system is beyond me. Just the fact that the media will never name names should tell you that their goals towards reconciliation are for public consumption only.
We are hearing about the slaughter of the tutsi's in rwanda and how it is time they all reconcile. Will you ever hear that the vatican was directly involved in that? Never. What the hell was with that painfully awkward walk at the end? Global didn't "catch up" with her to have a candid chat - they're both wearing the same clothes as five minutes earlier. All of those questions could've been asked inside during the interview. It's raining.

If Butts and Wernick felt that they and the PM did no wrong, why did they quit instead of presenting definitive evidence that they did not pressure her. JWR is entirely believable while Justin continues to be a bad joke.
