Yes, I wish more truckstops would offer more grocery wise. I recently made a suggestion to Dollar General corporate, since they are expanding so much, they should look into putting some stores near truckstops. As a husband/wife team, we stay out about 3 months at a time. We only make it to a walmart about once a month. Instead of getting fresh produce, I tend to get frozen/canned so it will last longer
My brother driving trucks since 1980's he was diagnosed a diabetic last year lost weight and got it under control. He says not the fault of truck stops it's what you decide to eat. He no longer chooses unhealthy food he also exercises daily either by walking around the truck stops sometimes there is a small gym at a terminal. He brings his own food with him in a 12V refrigerator cooler plugs into the lighter plug. The trick is don't let it get to that point where your young eat better exercise keep the weight under control. When you get over 50 years old all that bad eating comes back to haunt you can't just undo what you did.
Bosselmen's in Grand Island, Nebraska, had started stocking fresh foods, a minor grocery grab a few years back. I'm guessing they may even have improved since..

Well, the one thing is that there are a bunch of Walmarts right off the Interstate exit to pull in to.
The issue with that is not a lot of the Wal-Marts allow trucks
@@ericahulse I think its ok to stop for 30 minutes and get groceries, just no long term or overnite parking. They can also park near the freight dock
@cndream1 for some of them yes, but not all. Luckily Nebraska is very trucker friendly, and a few in Kentucky are right next to the truck stops
