  • Welcome to episode 2 of #MyHairTransplantJourney (#HairGrowthWithTerri). Wake up with me on the day of surgery and follow me to Dr. Diep’s office, my pre-surgery consultation, and the aftermath.
PART 1- Pre-surgery instructions + my nerves are getting the best of me (0:08)
    - Dr. Diep’s office provided the surgical scrub referenced in part 1.
PART 2- Paperwork + Consultation with Dr. Diep & A Quick Office Tour Before the Drugs Kick In (3:22)
    - Lunch is on the house and the selection wasn’t bad at all. I really enjoyed my Chinese food.
    - We were pretty much in Dr. Diep’s office for 12 hours. My husband is a trooper forreal. lol
    - Also, I ain’t touch near laptop or charger while in the recovery room. I was too drowsy and groggy for that.
PART 3- They Shaved The Front of My Head! + Lunch Break & What to Expect On the Road to Recovery (9:31)
Yikes! They had to shave the front of my head and that was the most stressful part for me. Not necessarily the act of shaving it… I was out cold when they did it, but rather, what the hell am I going to do with my hair when I have to go to work, speaking engagements, or vacation?
I didn’t know what I’d do but I sure did figure it out.
You should know that there wasn’t any unbearable pain. The bulk of my discomfort and pain occurred over the course of the next 7 days, even then, there was nothing unbearable. It just took a lot of listening on my part (the aftercare instructions are extremely important), support from my husband, and a positive attitude, to get through those 7 days.

Seems like you chose a good facility. I found it so interesting that you were even getting a transplant when this popped up in my feed because while thin, you appeared to have active hair growth around your perimeter as if root stimulation would work

I need to go here. I’ve been wanting to get this for years. I went to an office for a consultation years ago but they didn’t seem like they knew how to deal with Afro America hair.

    Hello Terri,
I have scheduled my hair transplant with Dr. Dept in February 2021. Can you let me know anything about your surgery to help me. I am nervous, but looking forward to the surgery. For example, did you have an IV or did they just give an pill to take to knock you out? Did they numb your head so you will not feel anything? Any advise would be helpful. Thank you.

Thank you so much for sharing this journey i certainly appreciate it as i am considering this same procedure - question, why did your surgey take so many hours? You got there at 530am and didnt leave their office until 7pm? Your results are amazing perhaps for good quality results as yours the procedure takes longer? Can you share the name of your actual procedure? Your results are naturally beautiful which is well worth the time you were there.
