Faced same theft issue while doing part-time work in college, theft happened in bus stand which is nearby police station.
Average crowded bus, a man stand in steps blocking my entrance and two men pushing my back with forces.. which I got distracted as they are applying pressure.
Once I stepped into the bus, I got to know my phone is missing.. From then I always wear headset and touch often and keep kerchief over my phone in my pocket.

Thanks brother mine also eSim. My advice there is no use of find my device even if it shows, it won't tell exact location. It will show 500m radius. Morning 5 O clock I've been chasing the snatcher in Bangalore East Railway Station using find my device. Even if the theif near you, you can't exactly find him. Be careful of holding your phones and watch out the surroundings always. You are only responsible for your belongings.
