I'm retired. However, prior to retiring from a large municipal sewage treatment facility, the facility's anaerobic digesters produced a huge continuous (24/7) amount of methane, which was, probably still is, used as fuel for "cogeneration." Methane not used onsite, was either burnt-off or used to power generators for selling electricity back into the commercial grid.
For any future commenters who want to gripe about the waste of food; large scale bioreactors use food waste and any other inedible organics for methane production. Ethanol plants are also in the process of switching to corn stalks and leaves, switchgrass and algae for their methods of production so they have a positive or neutral impact on food supply.
We had a household methane gas plant at home. We had household animals like cows, buffaloes, goats so always had sufficiency of raw materials. ;) The was even a ceiling lamp powered by gas. Bio-gas plant is a good option of energy if your guts are powerful enough. :D
GET IN THEM GUTS! LOL. On a real note, if you have a surplus of methane, do you give some to the neighbors? I feel like how they kept it in a 5gal water jug, I can probably do the same for my stoves at home. But the responsibility, I think, would be proper safe stowage, and also finding an appropriate hose adapter or fittings to whatever I need to connect my “methane tanks” too.
Of course if it’s not to burn your butt it’s an easy experience to do , by the time you’re farting open a lighter and you would see for yourself and trust me I’m not joking it’s actually true
We sure should, but politicians are very much oblivious to this.. They think this process of making methane is disgusting and therefore we shouldn't do it. But thats what the bottom soils is been doing for decades..
no. hydrochloric acid is used to break down the proteins in the food, it doesn't actually "digest" the food. they have no role in the creation of methane and the acidity will actually kill the bacteria in the guts.
genome of rheum bacteria which produced cellulose into milk so we got genome mixing with methane producing bacteria genome mixing with nitrogen fixation bacteria genome so we got more complex compound for fractional distillations
we know bacteria which produced methane then we put all the garbage in a big well with layers of bacteria culture so we got more complex compound for fractional distillations and got petroleum products
Wanted to know if I can produce methane from all the useful biomass from our produce left overs. But I feel they would mostly go to worms to grow worm dung for fertilizer.
So there's methane in my stomach? I haven't ate for hours so there's must been lots of methane being produced in my stomach, plus burping and farting. lol lol
Hi, does anyone knows if the methane gas produced from the rotting formulae shown in the video smells or not? If it smells, how do I make it odourless?
technically speaking, no, but effectively, it's might be possible all of the energy on earth can be linked back to the sun and the sun will run out eventually so no, not infinite, but possibly more sustainable
I would go with yes. Bio fuels are what you are referring to. The problem is the intereference of the production of fuel from food sources with food markets and pricing which will and does affect the poorest in the world.
genome mixing which methane producing bacteria genome mixing with nitrogen fixation bacteria genome mixing which changing cellulose into milk will provide more complex compound for fractional distillations so we got more petroleum products
It would work better if we just attached hoses directly to cows butts. They're real wind bags! Maybe the farmers could house their cattle for part of the day in a barn that could siphone off that gas, because that's a lot of gas power that really needs recycling!
What? Meth is a shortening of Methamphetamine. There the 'e' is sandwiched between two consonants and is therefore has the shortened 'eh' sound. In Methane the 'th' is in a separate syllable.
Wait ! These guys are overreacting after seeing cow dung or we Indians find it strange 🤨 C'mon this is quite normal in rural areas and small towns in india infact village ladies pick them by there BARE hands 😄
Safety first people! You need to mark those containers, it's how we avoid accidents. Three days with no label? How do you expect people to know it is flammable?
***** Doesn't mean they don't inadvertently have an open flame around them. Hence the OSHA regulations about unmarked containers in the work place. Before you go off I understand that they are not in the U.S., I'm sure the U.K. has similar work place standards.
Yes we have the health and safety executive. But those rules you speak of wouldn't really apply because (a) it's not that much gas, so not dangerous, and (b) the containers are in a tv studio complex, that counts as a 'secure storage area' so the rules are more relaxed.
But seriously... why would you use poop in real practical situation - instead of bacterial cultures, specifically chosen for maximum methane production.

Don't give Hitler ideas m'dear
I'm sorry, but I don't get your meaning. I was talking about using a gas mask to avoid being overcome by the stench of that whole mixture.
doesnt smell that bad if you know the smell for years

Roughly 1/3 of that digester gas was methane. The rest was mostly CO2 which could've been used for high-lipid algae production and so on.
I'm a PhD chemist and I still loved this.

it's not disgusting, it's science.
With these rising gas prices we should take poop from Tennessee and turn it into methane fuel to power cars.
Another incomplete clip, chopped off on both beginning and end, leaving me wondering why i watched it in the first place... :-(
Pointless vid
For all i know it looks like shit
This video really turns me off of the IHOP pancakes commercial I got before this video started
Can you post set by step instructions and materials needed.
You can use any materials you want

Lalit Joshi is part of liquid gas..

we know bacteria which produced methane then we put all the garbage in a big well with layers of bacteria culture so we got more complex compound for fractional distillations and got petroleum products
this is not digestive system replication. This one lacks digesting acid. This is just fermentation. Any fermentation created methane.
Na nota all fermentation produce methane just waste and rot
OMG I can smell it.
the smoothie is actually not too bad if there is no meat in it
I was eating. Should have stopped watching when they made some artificial vomit.

Why does the narrator say it like ME thane?
So, if it's pronounced "MEE-thane" in Britain, do British drug addicts do crystal MEEth? 😁
That logic doesn't really apply to English.
Depends how you break the word up...
You could break it up like:
Me-thane
Or
Meth-ane
Same logic applies for ethane
E-thane
Eth-ane

With the fuel prices going up and the fortnightly bins stacking up due to strikes; this may just solve the issues.

I didn't see anyone asking, can I use my poo?
0:55 she covered her nose and said what's that noise. What?
Smelly things can also make noise. You've never been around someone who had a big taco lunch before?
I think she was referring to the noise of the chunks falling in, which probably sound pretty nasty.
She said "There's that noise!"

That's a waste of good food. As far as ingredients go all you need is fresh manure and a little manure that has already started decomposing.
So a 🐄 can product 250 liters of methane per day
Which can be calculated to 2.5 kilowatts of energy per day😂
