I adore flax gel (I also use oat gel with great results)! I wish I knew about it when I was still in school. :) With my recipe, I often add a tsp vanilla (in with the water) for the scent, and a tbsp of oil because I've found that it helps me with frizz more than when I leave it out. I use 1.5 tbsp flaxseed (or oats), 1 tbsp oil and 1.5-3 cups water. I prefer 3 cups because then I can put it in a spray bottle and apply that way, and I still get great results. But 1.5 cups works just fine, too. I add the oil after straining off the seeds -which I then usually toss in a smoothie or something to keep this recipe zero waste- and the gel back into the pot and heat it to a boil again to incorporate things a bit better. But I've skipped this step and just whisked the oil into the finished gel and that's worked fine, too. Depends on how lazy I am.
Mine got too thick. I think I used too many seeds. Can I put them in the pot again and heat with some water to dilute? But I already added essential oil and vegetable oils to it
Flaking normally happens when I use the gel with another product that doesn’t mix right. Otherwise just made sure your breaking the gel cast by fluffing your hair, that should help 🌸🤗
@@charneking Thank you for your answer. My hair was also really dry and a bit crunchy after everything dried. So I thought maybe i should have put something before to nourished it
Love this❤. A must-try when my synthetic braids are out.
Great tips! Thank you for sharing~~~
Gorgeous curls. I will have to revisit flaxseed gel. Thanks for sharing.
Ah thank you 😊 Enjoy the results!
I style wit soaking wet hair and it leaves no cast just a very soft hold but I like it

Oh wow! I’ve never heard of oat gel. I want to try that 😃
Beautiful!! Will this help with frizzy roots as well? Definitely going to try this!
Yes definitely! It smooths the frizzy’s right down and KEEPS them there 😉

Sis I need me some of that gel
Got you sis! 😄
But when it dries, did it get crusty?
Hi, how do you avoid the flakes ? It happens to me the first time i apply the gel on my freshly wash and damp hair ?
