Losing Ellie koala in 2024 was heartbreaking. But this video celebrates the legacy she left behind raising awareness of the need to save koalas in Australia
Koala Gardens is a private property that is a wildlife sanctuary working hard to regenerate native habitat critical for koalas and many other vulnerable species. Katrina creates short and long documentaries that take you into the lives of these super cute and fascinating marsupials that live in the treetops.

I can’t believe Ellie is gone. 😭 She grew up with us like family. She was one of the prettiest koalas ever. 💔 I’m glad we got to meet her children and they are still out there. 🌳 She would be proud of them.
I cried when I watched the trailer. I knew she went to koala heaven, but the reality just hit me. Ellie was a super mum.

@@Nylorac.Nruboc I was so scared to lose Bullet. When I thought about it, my mind just stopped thinking anything. When he went up there, I was ripped half. I'm still sad to think that we can never see him again, but at the same time we can never lose him again and he is with us and he will be. Ellie is with us and she will be. I'll keep fighting for our koalas with our koala heroes🤓❤🐨

It is easy to love and be attached to such amazing characters. If it hurts, it just means we love them. We think the bonds are broken, but they aren’t. I think it’s amazing that we can have these bonds with koalas we haven’t even met. Love connects us all. 🐨💞 We can see it as an asset that drives us to help more koalas.

I had noticed she hasn't been on any videos, but I didn't know she died.😢 I thought she had another little one on the way? 🐨 That's so sad to hear.
yes it was heartbreaking - I caught her within a week of her first symptoms I saw of chlamydia, but it is so insidious that it had already been doing damage inside her ovaries before there was anything to see outside. at least she did not have to suffer a long and painful illness 😔🐨❤
