He been old he got old real quick...like at the start of Iowa era he was slipping away...for real maggots but maybe not for all you s.s c.f.t new Slipknot softies who like soft emo Corey and really care what he thinks about everyone...😂😂😂😂 See what I did there.
He's lucky he adjusted his technique when he did otherwise he would have definitely lost it by now! On the first couple of albums and their subsequent tours he was literally just screaming non stop, god only knows how his voice survived that at all. His technique is far more improved now though, although it lacks some of the aggression of Corey's historic vocals I think it's a fair trade off for his longevity and still sounds badass!
I have a theory that because of the mask(s) he wears, some of them have no mobility of the face. Plus with the mouth hole on the mask, it might muffle the sound a little more. So I’m wondering if Corey should go Batman with it. Mask everywhere except bottom of nose, mouth, chin and cheeks.
A million times better without the mask.. when he was younger he still could do it with mask but as he got older I know that shit got more difficult and I could tell in all the newest performances..
Great standout from the typical: "I felt the hate rise up in me down and clear the stone of leave wander out where you can't see side my shell I wait an bleed"
Corey Taylor é diferente pra crl. Já tá beirando os 50 anos e mesmo assim continua com uma voz foda pra crl além de um ótimo condicionamento físico. Quero ver o Matt Shadows do A7X fazendo a mesma coisa. Não posso esperar por ver eles novamente.
It's amazing how a song made 20 years ago, can be made still awesome by just removing a mask and playing it 😂 I think this is awesome, unfortunately I don't think Slipknot will play maskless, or maybe they will someday, just for a show or a DVD performance or something, not forever, we love the masks!!
Like KISS played without makeup for their Mtv Unplugged concert. Hell, Mudvayne eventually got tired of applying their makeup b4 their shows Is then having to deal with washing it off after the show before they can go do anything else they might want to do.. If it wasn't so easy it's so easy to put their masks on and off pissed off I bet that Slipknot would have already played live shows in regular street close by now. I used to run the soundboard at is at a famous is famous Detroit heavy metal club from 1999-2003 and I got to watch the entire band roll off their bus at noon, half the guys would have on pajama pants. The other half wore regular street clothes and they'd play 4,5,6,7 songs or parts of songs for soundcheck. I got to watch them do that 2 times in 1999, once in 2000 and the last time was 2002. Its definitely one of the highlights of all the live shows I've been to and seen. The crazy part was that around that time theory there wasn't big Internet presence but nowhere near what it's like now and no one knew what the band actually looked like and people would actually is actually running to the club while they were playing like that snap a picture and then try to run out of the club with the is with the picture of all the guys without their masks on. Whenever something like that happened and it would happen 3 or 4 times each time theyd come to town to play a show. When that would happen, all of our venue security security and all the employees and all of Slipknot's road crew would do everything they could to catch these fuckers and destroy their cameras by any means neccessary!!!! And every time they came back they were more popular, so more ppl would try to get pics and I cannot remember 1 person every getting away with any of those pictures except me, but I was smart enough to not turn the flash on the camera on! Duh?!? I never posted the pics online, only shared them with my small group of friends. I respected their desire to do what they were doing and they were the greatest band in the universe to me at that time and everyone in the band was super fucking cool. Mt old friend Kiddie used to talk to Paul Grey all the time on the phone just to bullshit for 5 mins and see what he was up to and he always answered and was always really tolerant and cool. I personally thought her and her friens Jill bothered him and I definitely woulda blocked their number lol Long Live the 'Knot!!!
Corey coming thru with the relative pitch at 0:27 haha (song is in B minor... uses root/tonic note "B" to get the 5th/dominant note "F#"... nice.) lmao the crowd yelling "B!" was cute. They were a little confused, but they got the spirit!
If anyone ever says "does Slipknot really need 9 guys?". Just show them this video. It's lackluster in comparison. Even with all this great talent behind it. It doesn't have nearly the same affect.
yeah... it needs all 9 members, not just corey, james (maybe), i think i saw one of the guitarists frome stone sour there, idk. it just needs the magic of the nine to work, not the magic of the one or 2.
This might be an unpopular opinion.. but I felt offended that he performed this without Slipknot and without a mask. This goes back to '99 at least. It's old school Slipknot and it should stay with them. Also, I say this as a lifelong fan who has seen both Slipknot and Stone Sour. Just didn't feel right. Still love Corey though. Sounded good
I feel the same. I don’t think Corey really gives a shit what the members in slipknot think. Just look at how they did Joey. They all had the power to do something about it, especially Corey. They let him rot by himself.
It’s just insane seeing him perform this song maskless, when 18 years ago, you couldn’t even find pictures of him maskless on the internet.
Everyone knew what Corey looked like lol. He was in Stone Sour before Slipknot.
@@asthecitysleepsofficial But no one knew it was the guy in Slipknot.

These songs are going to be our oldies.

But a goodie
I work in assisted living and used to lead the sing alongs with our residents, and I've had so many conversations with coworkers about this!! 😆

Bro, they already are. Your listen to music made 20 years ago.

Covid Corey. He's got that shat again.
@@JasonRyanWilson They’re having a nap first tonight so he seems OK
Yeah man I can't wait for the next slipknot album and hear more his new screaming
Just love the raw voice and talent he has for vocals.
Really would like to know what the lead vocalist of Slipknot thinks of this.
I’d love to see the argue about it. 😆
Well since it's the same guy, he probably thinks it's pretty good
He's sueing him
Idk man he's kinda violent, have you read the lyrics of his songs? He may end up killing this poor man
That is Corey Taylor..
he sounds even better without a mask...his voice sounds just like the studio version...
well thats because he cant open his mouth as wide as without it
I don’t think the mask has anything to do with his voice though since the mask is custom made to fit his face.
@@ghostface1183 And the most retarded comment trophy goes to.......
that was the best I’ve heard Corey sing that in years!
this happen when you quit smoking and start taking care of yourself!
so fucking good to see the energy thats been hiding behind the mask during this song
This isn't the first time He's performed Slipknot songs unmasked.
Maybe the Corey, the Corey from Slipknot and the Corey from Stone Sour could do a song together!
😲
The first time I ever seen Slipknot in concert was fuckin awesome I met Corey Taylor, Joey Jordison, and Paul Grey my life was COMPLETE
Looks like his band mates were super excited to play that song
This is The most scariest mask ever for corey
his voice sounds exactly like the release version. it just goes to show how the mask effects their live performances.
Every time I see him perform maskless he is reserved and composed. It’s crazy to see him being a maniac without it.
THANK GOD FOR MOBILE PHONES OR I WOULDNT HAVE BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH TO SEE THIS UNICORN
I’ve never heard such a perfect cover!

I really hope he feels better from that bout with Covid. 😞 Huge fan of Slipknot. Wait and Bleed is still my favorite song from them.
No rust in those pipes. Truly amazing vocals
Corey has a beautiful singing voice
Shit is a trip to see him with out mask and hearing the song
Man.. this was the CMFT tour. When I was him in East Moline he didnt perform this and i wouldve loved to see this so much
*This is the best cover till now*
i admire that security guy's restraint to not headbang to this
Think they found a replacement for that dude in slipknot
Thankyou for filming this awesome to have been there 😊
Sounds exactly the same as he did in 99. I have this song and sic on cassette 🤘🤘🤘
Dude he can totally start a metal band

Corey is just so talented l. His voice sounds the exact same live as it does in the studio
I hope I get to see slipknot live this year in Albuquerque
Corey sounds so much like number 8, great cover
Give me B !
No, i'm talking to him 🤣🤣🤣🤣
During the beginning, I knew there was going to be a breakdown
I literally thought they meant no covid mask lmao 💀
Great standout from the typical:

masks do affect his ability to perform. barley noticeable but it’s there just because of physical reasons that are guaranteed with masks
love the dude singing along in the audience :DD
