Hello! I'd appreciate any opinions/advice on how to play Poppy on the jungle. I've been otp Poppy since the first time i've picked her, i've been playing 3 years, 2 and a half with Poppy, and im currently in gold4/3, I have tried many playstyles(bruiser, tank and assassin/powerfarming, turboganking, invade-a-lot and focusing objectives) but I don't feel like I found the correct one for me/my champ. A lot of people(including challengers like veigarV2) say that "you should be ganking a lot, farming less, priorizing objectives, and teamfights" but I don't really think that's the way to go, at least not in gold. Thanks in advice to anyone sharing his thoughts!
Hi @darkagobio7786, how are you doing? Poppy is a really powerful champion. A good timed W is awesome, and ulting to contest/zone the enemy jungler is really powerful - and may even tilt the enemies. Because of her kit, yes, Poppy is really useful to take objectives safely. And when your kit does the heavy lifting for objective, you should focus on doing them, yes. But you need a plan. How fast is your full clear? Do you need to skip one camp to get to first crab? Do you plan to do dragon at 5 minutes, or maybe farm only and get first voidgrub for 6 to be safe? Maybe full clearing, going base and ganking bot to get dragon is a good plan if your botlane has a good setup. If not, full clear from top to bot then go top clear and gank top to get priority for void is another decent plan, so you can always clear from top to bot for both plans and adapt accordingly. Make sure to keep the most basic fundamentals: don't cross the river without priority, don't fight outnumbered, recognize that when one or more allies are in base you gotta just farm and farm, recognize the lanes where fights are constant and when there's nothing to farm just go there get kills, progress to midgame hovering your team while farming to help them if they engage, farm near the next objective, don't let support ward alone or he's gonna be a pickoff to the enemy, and think about your and the enemy's winning condition, so you can walk towards yours and prevent the enemy from getting to theirs.
Oh, that's a great video and example of "how you should do" & what you "shouldn't do". Thank you Leo for this video. I wanna see from you deep-diving play with Rengar, cause it's very interesting to watch what is the better play on Assassins. And how to win when the whole team int, and against you some bruiser and tanky champs (Irelia, Cho, Ww, Taam, etc)
As a Shyvana main I appreciate the focus on a farming champion. My low elo games tend to go long, so scaling works out.
Really love the style of your videos, it's very easy to absorb information without it being too overwhelmed.
please add more videos from higher elo (diamond, master+)
Anyway, helpful ;)
Any tips for playing against 2-3 tank comps? As Kha Rengar main, i've been kinda struggling...
Run conquor, Eclipse first item. If not then Avoid fighting when they Grouping unless you play with your team (your team is stronger).
Well, change champion or try to nuke the squishies
